I thought he wasn't genuine from the beginning. Something, just something, never sat well with me when it came to this guy.
In fact, I remember in their wedding pics posted —if you go back a bunch of pages on this very thread, I'm sure you'll see what I'm talking about— Britney was beaming, her eyes were lit up; he was POSING like your average gay IG f#&kboy, lips pursed, eyebrows frowning, glaring at the camera.

Like I said when news broke out that they got married, I hope her $$$ is protected.

TMZ really needs to get their stories straight. The one out today puts forth a narrative that Britney has no one to turn to in her life, no family, friends, etc. Yet they were pushing yesterday the "Britney cheated" narrative, which... Britney barely does anything or sees anyone, so yeah I'm sure she had time to go out and cheat with someone. And yet, they're saying she went out and cheated... but at the same time has no one in her life. Okay.

I feel like Britney can't catch a break. Like, can someone in her life be decent?
I just really cannot imagine her being physically violent toward him and cheating. Maybe I'm wrong and the childhood nostalgia is taking over.

It would be best to just not make any assumptions--we have no idea how dire Britney's mental health is after what she's been through, and we have no idea how diabolic Sam might be. We don't know these people, and have had especially limited access to their lives. It isn't uncommon for shitty ex-husbands to go after their rich wives' fortunes and try and undo a prenup, nor is it uncommon--or even unfair--to go after a prenup if it was violated.

Regardless, it would be best for her to just go into some facility for a year to get some intensive, private treatment and be off social media/out of the public eye. Instead, she's releasing a memoir and doing some sort of press tour. No one seems to be in her corner, and I'm not sure she's capable of doing herself any favors.

Just all really sad.

While I'm 1,000% behind her, I hope they just postpone the release of the memoir until the divorce's settled. While it's going to sell like hot cakes for sure, I'm afraid that kind of media/public attention is not what she needs right now. Until she has a proper team to back her up, I don't want her to do a big sit-down interview, either.

It's complicated because a lot of prenups have infidelity clauses of some sort or just generally abuse and/or infidelity can complicate a prenup. Judges can rule them as mitigating factors in the agreement. So, it might be part of the evidence if he is challenging the prenup rather than "just" extortion or revenge porn.

Everyone wants Britney to quietly crawl away and cry in a bathtub, but I sort of want to see the opposite from her. Would love her to go full Daenerys Targaryen or Scarlet Witch on all the people who wronged her, and reclaim the narrative of her life, rather than letting all of the people who abused her have the last say on her own story.

It really doesn’t sit right with me when I see some of these posts saying she should just lay down, lay low, take it, and let everyone else walk all over her. That’s not healthy. She deserves to have an outlet and to actualize herself in the best way she’s able in all aspects of her life.

Wishing her the best. Many sources are reporting she’s been back in the studio and planning an album campaign since mid-summer. Even during the backdrop of all of the drama with Sam, the separation, and now divorce news.

I'm not sure how that works. IF there is a video and he releases it, then that may be an issue. Just claiming it as part of the divorce proceedings I do not think would be revenge porn. She has a great divorce lawyer though so I hope the lawyer is going to bat for her either way.

Him walking back on contesting the prenup while also alleging she’s abusive feels really calculated. Why even bother airing out all this dirty laundry then? Fwiw, I could actually buy her getting violent in her sleep, but not deliberately. The only thing she’s outright stated is that she has PTSD and acting out in your sleep isn’t unheard of. I still think it’s sus as hell, but on the slim-to-none chance it’s legit then that’s missing a ton of context. This is so shit.

I think the fairest take thus far has been dbhmr’s (on brand). She needs a sabbatical from the public. I don’t know if an institution is the right answer though, or if one even exists. There’s a lot we don’t know, but there’s a lot that’s just out there for the public to speculate on. Setting aside the divorce, her relationship with the public in general makes her situation uniquely complicated in a way I don’t think any normal person can understand.

I’m not saying nothing should be done, but I don’t even know how someone in her position finds meaningful help or personal relationships. She could always pull a Courtney Love and fuck off the grid indefinitely, or at least until another Malaysian flight goes missing.

I love Britney and always have. I don't know much about Sam, but please, enlighten me as to what he has done so wrong. And as far as the divorce goes, I am team Sam. A person can only deal with so much. I genuinely hope she gets well soon.

Yeah there’s like maybe 2 people in here that I can trust to speak to this with any nuance at all lmao it’s so frustrating

Thing is a lot of people just don’t seem to care either. Mental health is still something we’re all learning to address to be fair, but like… I mean, I don’t have a psych degree, but I do have a medical degree and went out of my way to put a ton of emphasis on psych. I won’t pretend to know everything either (even therapists don’t; I told mine about a disorder the other day he’d never even heard of lmao), but I know enough that following Britney for the past few years has been frustrating as hell.
