Nearly a full page of American Idol and TV ratings, must be expecting a boring 8/9 Hot 100 this week There should actually be more movement this week than last week -- I do agree with others that at least one of Chandelier & Boom Clap is getting in -- but you're ultimately still looking at Rude at #1 and Fancy, Stay With Me, Am I Wrong and Problem in the Top 5. The stories I'm following are: -- How high does Shower go? -- How high does Burnin' it Down debut? -- Does Tinashe go Top 20? -- How deep into the Top 40 does Meghan Trainor get?

I hate how the guys at bcharts Mediabase keep fucking with us. Randomly update for a couple of days and then stop. They should be consistent: either update regularly or not at all. Come on.

Yeah I think "Am I Wrong" will be pulling a "Wake Me Up" and spend many weeks at #4 and never reach the top 3 :(

MAGIC! No. 1 On Hot 100, Sia Swings Into Top 10The pop/reggae group rules for a third week with 'Rude,' while Sia scores her first top 10 as a lead artist with 'Chandelier.' MAGIC!'s "Rude" reigns atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a third week, while Sia notches her first top 10 as a lead artist with the advance of "Chandelier." "Wow! I cannot believe this experiment worked," Sia says of her latest achievement, a tongue-in-cheek nod to her trademark avoidance of the spotlight when promoting her music. (For details, read on.) It's Wednesday, so time to shine a light on the numbers behind the latest Hot 100's top 10. "Rude" maintains its hold atop the Hot 100 despite leading only the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart, which it rules for a third week (3.3 million on-demand streams, down 4 percent, according to Nielsen BDS). Still, its sales, airplay and overall streaming activity are strong enough to keep it No. 1 on the Hot 100. It dips 1-2 after three weeks atop Digital Songs with 154,000 downloads sold (down 21 percent) in the week ending July 27, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It posts a third week at its No. 2 highpoints on both Radio Songs (164 million all-format audience impressions, up 3 percent) and Streaming Songs (9 million U.S. streams, down 5 percent). As previously reported, "Rude" takes over atop the Pop Songs airplay chart and leads Adult Pop Songs for a second week. Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX, ranks at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a third week after spending seven weeks at No. 1. Still, it leads Streaming Songs for an 11th week (10.1 million, down 18 percent). The song ties Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" for the second-longest command since Streaming Songs launched early last year; Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" holds the mark with 13 weeks at No. 1. "Fancy" drops 3-4 on Digital Songs (which it led for four weeks), down by 21 percent to 123,000, while holding at No. 5 on Radio Songs (117 million, down 6 percent); it topped the chart for three weeks. "Fancy" crowns Hot Rap Songs for a 15th week and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a 10th frame, while dominating the Songs of the Summer chart for a ninth week, continuing as the only song that's led the seasonal tally since it made its annual return after Memorial Day. Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" logs a second week at No. 3 on the Hot 100, its highest rank so far, adding top Airplay Gainer honors for a third consecutive week (and for the fourth time in five weeks). The ballad spends a second week at its No. 3 high on Radio Songs with a 9 percent gain to 152 million; dips 2-3 on Digital Songs, which it led for two weeks (144,000, down 12 percent); and bullets for a second week at its No. 5 peak to date on Streaming Songs (6.3 million, up 7 percent). Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong" returns to its top Hot 100 rank, rebounding 5-4. It dominates Radio Songs for a fourth week with 165 million, essentially even with last week's total. (The song's four-week rule is the longest by a duo since OutKast's "Hey Ya!" spent nine weeks at No. 1 in 2003-04.) "Wrong" rebounds 8-5 on Digital Songs (114,000, up 18 percent), aided by the pair's performances on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on July 21 and ABC's Good Morning America the next day. On Streaming Songs, it rebounds 12-11 (4.6 million, down 1 percent). Could either Smith's "Stay" or Nico & Vinz's "Wrong" dethrone MAGIC!'s "Rude" atop the Hot 100? While "Rude" decreases by 7 percent in overall chart points and "Stay" and "Wrong" gain by 1 and 4 percent, respectively, "Rude" leads the songs by a comfortable 16 and 30 percent, respectively. (It boasts a 15 percent margin over "Fancy"; last week, the difference between the two was 6 percent.) Ariana Grande's "Problem," featuring Azalea, rounds out the Hot 100's top five (4-5) after peaking at No. 2 for five weeks. ( She also holds at No. 21 with follow-up "Break Free," featuring Zedd). Looking ahead to next week, Grande should make a splashy debut as one-third of "Bang Bang," with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj. The song remains at No. 1 in the iTunes' Store following its release on Tuesday (July 29) and has already crowned the real-time Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart. Maroon 5's "Maps" reaches a new Hot 100 peak so far (7-6), fueled by a 6 percent gain to 76 million in airplay, while Disclosure's "Latch," featuring Smith, pushes 9-7 and tops the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a second week. John Legend's former three-week Hot 100 No. 1 "All of Me" backtracks 6-8. As it spends a 23rd week in the top 10, it passes two other former No. 1s for the most weeks totaled in the top tier in 2014: Pharrell Williams' "Happy" and Katy Perry's "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J, each spent 22 weeks in the top 10. And … back to Sia. The pop singer/songwriter scores the week's lone new Hot 100 top 10, as "Chandelier" rises 11-9. The lead single from her first No. 1 album, 1000 Forms of Fear, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 two weeks ago, holds at No. 7 on Streaming Songs (5.3 million, up 1 percent), slides 10-14 on Digital Songs (79,000, down 4 percent) and charges 45-35 on Radio Songs (37 million, up 18 percent). "Chandelier" marks Sia's first Hot 100 top 10 as a lead artist after notching two in 2012 in featured roles: David Guetta's "Titanium" (No. 7) and Flo Rida's "Wild Ones" (No. 5). While she's co-written all three of her top 10s as an artist, Sia has tallied two additional top 10s for other acts, also in 2012: Ne-Yo's "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)" (No. 6) and Rihanna's "Diamonds" (No. 1, three weeks). (She made perhaps her most notable early breakthrough back in 2005 when her song "Breathe Me" accompanied the touching last scene of the finale of HBO's Six Feet Under.) For the notoriously camera-shy Sia, who didn't show her face in TV performances of "Chandelier" leading up to the new album's release and didn't pose for traditional photo shoots (similar to how she appeared with her face obscured by a paper bag on the cover of Billboard last year), parent label RCA Records (also home to MAGIC!) is especially satisfied. "For Sia to be celebrating her first Hot 100 top 10 on her own is gratifying on so many levels," RCA GM/executive VP Joe Riccitelli says. "The best part is that she accomplished this her way and we were able to execute her plan." Calvin Harris' "Summer," which peaked at No. 7 on the Hot 100, keeps at No. 10. Just outside the Hot 100's top 10, Jason Aldean blasts in with "Burnin' It Down," which starts with 184,000 downloads sold. It debuts atop Digital Songs, where it's his first No. 1, and rockets 42-1 on Hot Country Songs. The track, which previews Aldean's upcoming sixth studio album, ties 2012's "Take a Little Ride" for his highest Hot 100 entrance. He's scored one top 10: "Dirt Road Anthem," which reached No. 7 in 2011. Visit Billboard.com tomorrow (July 31), when all rankings, including the Hot 100 in its entirety and Digital Songs, Radio Songs and Streaming Songs, will refresh, as they do each Thursday. The latest charts will also appear in the next issue of Billboard magazine (on sale on Friday, Aug. 1). www.billboard.com/articles/news/6193717/hot-100-magic-rude-sia-chandelier-jason-aldean

Is the Aldean song 11? Unclear from that wording... looks like they edited the article: Just outside the Hot 100's top 10, Jason Aldean blasts in at No. 12 with "Burnin' It Down," which starts with 184,000 downloads sold. It debuts atop Digital Songs, where it's his first No. 1, and rockets 42-1 on Hot Country Songs. He's scored one top 10: "Dirt Road Anthem," which reached No. 7 in 2011.

Is the Aldean song 11? Unclear from that wording... No, it's #12. It tied "Take A Little Ride"'s debut.

Is the Aldean song 11? Unclear from that wording... It says it's tied with TALR for the highest entry, and that one debuted at #12. So I guess it must be #12.

I'm glad to see "Chandelier" made it. "Boom Clap" and "Love Runs Out" next please.

Extremely strong top 10 imo. Indeed. Maybe it's my taste becoming even more mainstream but this year has been very good in terms of quality hits.

^Sorry for bursting your bubbles but I don't see it happening. Decades charts are using chart runs rather than chart points so the 10-weeks of "Happy" at number-one is enough for it to beat "Counting Stars" longevity. I'd love to be proven wrong 'cause I want "Counting Stars" to beat every song possible. :)
Up to last week.
"Happy" #1: 10 Top 5: 17 Top 10: 22 Top 20: 26* Top 40: 27* Hot 100: 29*
"Counting Stars" #1: 0 Top 5: 11 Top 10: 25 Top 20: 31 Top 40: 46* Hot 100: 57*

Both songs will be quite high for sure though! Unfortunately "Dark Horse" will be higher than both because it will be #2 year-end of 2014 and it got rather significant points in 2013 as well (i.e. when it debuted at #4 on Digital Songs) but I'm glad to see all three songs doing well! would like to see "Thrift Shop", "Blurred Lines", and "Radioactive" very high on the decade-end charts as well! Luckily "Harlem Shake" won't be too high if on the chart at all thanks to the inverse point system but sadly some of my favorites of last year "Get Lucky" and "Can't Hold Us" won't make it very high :( (GL might not make it at all) but oh well. Hopefully PRA is higher than STIUTK is higher than RITD! Maybe PRA can be #1!

TS BL and R are some of my favs from last year as well as Can't Hold Us and GL just like you (and IKYWT, yes I finally admit it I like that song alright, so don't take my 2013 CHR number one rankings seriously anymore) Demons is another of my favorites along with Mirrors but M, D, CHU, GL, D and IKYWT won't be that high sadly but TS, R and BL should!! Rude I hope that one is high as well one of my favorites this year and RITD amd STIUTK are amazing amd deserve to be high as well)

music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart-watch/chart-watch-jason-aldean-is-back-200913970.html Chart Watch: Jason Aldean Is BackBy Paul Grein, Yahoo! Chart Watch Jason Aldean's “Burnin' It Down” is burnin' it up on this week's charts. The song is the top new entry on the Hot 100 at #12. It's already one of Aldean's three highest-charting hits, along with “Dirt Road Anthem” (which peaked at #7 in July 2011) and “Take A Little Ride” (which debuted and peaked at #12 in August 2012). "Burnin’ It Down" is off to an even faster start on Hot Digital Songs, where it debuts at #1 (184K). Aldean is the first male country artist ever to top the Digital Songs chart as a lead artist. Tim McGraw was featured on Nelly's “Over And Over,” which headed the digital chart for two weeks in the fall of 2004. Finally, “Burnin’ It Down” vaults from #42 to #1 in its second week on Top Country Songs, displacing Florida Georgia Line's “Dirt.” It's Aldean's ninth #1 country hit; his first since the aforementioned “Take A Little Ride.” "Burnin’ It Down" is the first song from Aldean’s upcoming sixth studio album. His last album, Night Train, entered The Billboard 200 at #1 in October 2012 with first-week sales of 409K. Bad News: This is the fourth week in a row in which not one song has broken the 200K mark in weekly sales. This is the longest stretch in which no songs have sold 200K since the fall of 2009, when there was a five-week losing streak in which no songs reached the threshold. (The #1’s in those slow weeks: Britney Spears's “3” and Owl City's “Fireflies.”) MAGIC!'s “Rude” logs its third week at #1, while “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX holds at #2 for the third week. “Fancy” remains #1 on Streaming Songs for an 11th week. If it stays on top for just two more weeks, it will tie Miley Cyrus's “Wrecking Ball” for the longest run on top since the inception of that chart in early 2013. Will it do it? Place your bets. In addition, “Fancy” is #1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a 10th week. Sam Smith has two songs in the top seven. “Stay With Me” holds at #3 for the second week. Disclosure’s “Latch,” on which he is featured, jumps from #9 to #7 in its 19th week. “Latch” is #1 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for a second week. John Legend's “All Of Me” drops from #6 to #8 in its 42nd week. This is its 23rd week in the top 10, which allows it to push ahead of two other megahits for the longest run in the top 10 in 2014. Those hits, each of which logged 22 weeks in the top 10: Pharrell Williams's “Happy” and “Dark Horse” by Katy Perry featuring Juicy J. (I told you they were megahits.) Sia lands her first top 10 hit as a lead artist as “Chandelier” jumps from #11 to #9 in its 12th week. Sia was a featured artist on two top 10 hits in 2011: David Guetta's “Titanium” (#7) and Flo Rida's “Wild Ones” (#5). "Chandelier" is Sia’s fifth top 10 hit as a co-writer. She co-wrote all of the songs named above as well as Rihanna's “Diamonds” (#1 in 2012) and Ne-Yo's “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)” (#6 in 2012). "Chandelier" was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year last week. It was the only finalist that hadn’t yet cracked the top 10 when the nominations were announced. (The other finalists all reached #1 or #2 months ago.) Passenger's “Let Her Go” tops the 4 million mark in digital sales this week. The song reached #5 on the Hot 100. "Turn Down For What" by DJ Snake & Lil Jon tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. The song reached #4. "Loyal" by Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne & French Montana Or Too $hort Or Tyga tops the 1 million mark in digital sales. (I bet they spent more time coming up with the billing than they did writing the song.) The song reached #9. Jake Owen's “Beachin'” tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. The song has climbed as high as #26.

Hey! I don't know where should I ask this so I'm putting it here:
Did Billboard add the Hannah Montana credited songs to Miley Cyrus' Hot 100 entries or not? Technically, they should combine it but I'm still unsure about it. I can't find any article from Billboard regarding this. Thanks to anyone who would help :)

Just like "Dirt," "BID" just misses the top 10. I wonder if they had waited a day for radio and both not lost a ton of airplay due to 8th day effect if they would've made it.
