I really doubt this will follow the footsteps of their last debut single "The Sound of Winter" and go #1 on Alternative and #3 on Active considering the change of the formats since 2011. I do however think it could go Top 10 on Alternative and Top 5 on Active this time around.
Nevertheless, hides your ears children because I am damn fucking excited for this!

Would be nice, but when you factor in Bush's "Golden State" album, it becomes clear that "The Sound Of Winter" was an anomaly in terms of their success on either format really. I wouldn't be surprised if it misses the top 10 on both.

"The People That We Love" was the lead single and didn't even go Top 10 on Alt, which was a huge flop for them at the time.

I wonder if "The People That We Love" didn't do as well because it was originally called "Speed Kills." The title was changed after 9/11. Might have had nothing to do with it, but I thought of it.

I'm excited for this. Their last album was quite good (although I think it got a lot of undeserved flack). I can only hope Alternative remembers the success of "The Sound of Winter" and sends it at least into the Top 10.
I'm hoping Bush and potentially the Foo Fighters will be in the Top 10 together in the near future, would be a nice little slice of nostalgia. If RHCP and Blink 182 were in the mix it'd be a bit like 2011 all over again.

Interesting little fact since we've mentioned nostalgia and veteran acts:
If you count artists/bands who first charted on the format at least 2 albums prior to their current album as veterans (including Jack White because of The White Stripes), 12 of the top 40 alternative songs are by veteran acts. On this week 6 years ago (because 2008 is often referred to here), there were 12 in the top 20 alone.

So slightly over a quarter of the chart is veteran artists. That's a fine amount if you ask me. While it's good for the format to acknowledge its roots, it should primarily be about offering new sounds. And unless they come through with something really impressive (which "The Sound of Winter" wasn't IMO), I'm not dying for Bush to have another big hit.

Decent return, definitely not as good as "The Sound Of Winter" though.

Just heard this. Kinda boring, but not that heavy, so this should have no problem reaching the Top 10.

Pretty good. Not as good as "The Sound of Winter", but still a decent return, like Cody said. I'm expecting a Top 10 for this one.
