I just never understood the hype for this. It's a cute little number. Idk. It's been in the UK top 40 ( often in top 10 ) for over 6 months , so it must have some appeal .

I got the CD for this and listened to most of it today. Just one listen but so far, I think it's quite good. There's more to him than Budapest.

So pop radio isn't allowed to play this either?

So much negativity on here. I like this and I bet George Ezra is going to be a break out star this year like Sam Smith And Ed Sheeran.

So pop radio isn't allowed to play this either? No radio station should be playing this.

I quite enjoy the song. I never change the station when it comes on but if you don't like it, they give you a button to change your radio to another frequency for a reason.

Coming from the station that only plays the dance remixes of Take Me To Church and I Lived, consider me shocked.

Great song. If he gets a few good TV slots this will smash.

I'm really enjoying his album. My favourite one so far this year (not that there's much competition yet but it's still a strong album)

He had incredibly bad luck at the Brits. He had a fantastic year and in other circumstances that would mean to get at least the best new artist award (or whatever it's called at the Brits)

Ezra started in US kinda late compared to Ed and Sam though. In fact, he did more or less the same route Ed did. Sam is a very special case, i think he is probably one of the foreign artist who achieve success in the USA with less effort. He worked hard doing promo, but the truth is he only needed a couple of performances on SNL to create a lot of buzz around him. The three have in common they started their chart runs on AAA, Sam and George did it with a number one. In fact i think Ed had to work harder to get that first pop top 50, because he played at small venues before The A team became a hit. And they were in a similar situation, they were big in UK but basically unknown on the USA. The truth is Budapest is a biggest hit on other formats that the A team was (1 on AAA, top 10 on alt and top 20 in hot Ac. I think Ed had his two top 10 hits in UK before starting to play in the USA too John Newman seemed to be the next big thing, but in the meantime his second single was barely top 10 on UK, Love me again didn't have the expected success on the USA and basically Sam Smith stole all the buzz that surrounded John previously. I don't think his album was a big flop, and he probably will get an oportunity to shine, but his sales were not in the same league

It's so funny because last year before Hozier blew up, this song came out and both started getting airplay on Sirius around the same. I said that both were going to be big names in a few months, it was just a matter of who was first. While I was familiar with Take Me To Church for months by this point, I predicted Budapest would smash sooner. I was wrong there but if it does become a significant hit, I'll be right in that regard.
