^And the highest drops are probably for Christmas songs or Dixie Chicks' "Landslide."

I thought instant grat didn't apply to singles that have been out for a while and were declared official singles... oh and if they do count them then OOTW is pretty much guaranteed top ten debut as well

Didn't someone in the last Hot 100 thread say that they knew Billboard wouldn't be counting instant grat tracks? I wish someone official other than the blog that originally reported it would definitively confirm/deny.

It would have 100% given them a second top 10 single

Is this the highest single-day drop ever? That's not the real update. Yes, that's the real AI info, but I think I didn't calculated it right and I don't have the AI for the past 4 days separated.

If I'm not mistaken, I think people are misinterpreting the instant grat thing. If people bought the song individually it will still count. It's only if you got the song because you pre-ordered the album hat it won't count. So OOTW will still have a strong number.

Tove Lo and Ed are the only ones with positive update in the top 10. Anyway, What is the airplay peak of "Sing"?

Over on the Digital Songs chart, Taylor Swift's "Out of the Woods" debuts at No. 1 with 195,000 downloads sold, marking Swift's eighth No. 1 on the list. Only Rihanna (with 13 leaders), Katy Perry (10) and Eminem (nine) have more No. 1s on the Digital Songs chart. "Out of the Woods" is the second commercially available song from Swift's upcoming studio release, 1989, due out Oct. 27. Swift replaces herself at No. 1, as 1989's first single, "Shake It Off," falls 1-2 with 178,000 (up 5 percent). Swift is the first lead artist to occupy the top two slots on the chart at the same time since … Swift herself did it just over two years ago. She also claimed the Nos. 1 and 2 rungs on the Sept. 22, 2012 chart with "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "Ronan." Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" slips 2-3 with 148,000 (down 12 percent), Maroon 5's "Animals" descends 3-4 with 117,000 (though up 3 percent) and Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj's "Bang Bang" is steady at No. 5 with just over 96,000 (up 2 percent). Tove Lo's "Habits (Stay High)" moves 4-6 with 96,000 (down 3 percent), Jason Derulo's "Trumpets" blares 6-7 with 86,000 (up 8 percent) and Iggy Azalea's "Black Widow," featuring Rita Ora, is stationary at No. 8 with just over 73,000 (down 5 percent). Sam Smith's "I'm Not the Only One" rises 13-9 with 73,000 (up 24 percent) and Jeremih's "Don't Tell 'Em," featuring YG, is a non-mover at No. 10 with 72,000 (down 3 percent). Digital track sales this past week totaled 17.32 million downloads, up 3 percent compared with last week (16.88 million) and down 13 percent stacked next to the comparable week of 2013 (19.85 million). Year to date track sales are at 900.86 million, down 13 percent compared to the same total at this point last year (1.03 billion). www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6289335/florida-georgia-line-no-1-album-bob-seger-game-u2

Only 195k? :O No instant grat sales or what? SIO was still up, though, which makes me think they counted, so idk. Also, didn't Ariana have top 2 songs? Or am I remembering wrong? Edit: I think I'm remembering wrong.

They deffinneetteellyy didn't include instant grat tracks with that figure. Her lead was insane and consistent until the last few days of the week. It's also typical for a single's sales to increase close to the respective artist's album release. :)

Edit: I think I'm remembering wrong. Iggy did but she was a featured artist ("Problem") and the same for Pharrell ("Blurred Lines" and "Get Lucky"). They obviously took out the instant grat portion of sales from the total of OOTW.

So that would indicate maybe 100-150k of preorders for Taylor, that seems about right.
This really seems like a logical way for BB to handle these moving forward -- still legitimizes actual "single" sales without counting album purchases as doubling as single purchases.

October 30, 200401 02 My Boo - Usher & Alicia Keys (1st of 6 weeks at #1)02 01 Goodies - Ciara feat. That album was the soundtrack to my life at that point. So i'm not the only that can barely tell the different between their two new singles and one more night. I'm like seriously...no growth. But I still use Maroon 5 (I mean...i won't turn the channel when their generic songs come on)
