As a follow up to my thread about Most forgotten CHR Top 5 hits, what are the most forgotten CHR songs that actually ruled the chart at one time? Feel free to speculate as to why.
I'm going to start with Katy Perry - Waking Up in Vegas. No doubt because her later hits (and her previous ones) overshadowed it and I feel like it was one of those incidental number ones, as oppossed to songs that just shoot up the charts destined for the top. Not to mention low sales considering it's airplay.

Paula Abdul - "Promise of a New Day"
Most people don't know or remember this song.

Boy Krazy - "That's What Love Can Do" Speaking of this song, is this the lowest Hot 100 peak (#18) for a #1 CHR single? Not including songs that were ineligible to chart because they weren't commercially released etc. Oh and and to respond to the thread... In my opinion... Nickelback "Far Away" (how was this #1 and some of their other more recognizable songs weren't?) 3 Doors Down "When I'm Gone" (I don't even know how this goes even though I remember "Kryptonite" and "Here Without You" quite well)

From 2000 or later (I could make a LONG list of earlier such hits):
Nine Days-"Absolutely (Story of a Girl)" (I like it, but haven't heard it on radio in years) O-Town-"All Or Nothing" (how was this even a hit to start with?) Jennifer Lopez-"Ain't It Funny" (somehow this seems to get overlooked in my experience) Mario-"Let Me Love You" (a month at #1, and then it and he soon just vanished, it seems) Justin Timberlake-"My Love" (doesn't seem to get as much recurrent play as most of his other hits, at least in my hearing) Jordin Sparks/Chris Brown-"No Air" (Jordin had two years of hits and then fizzled fast, at least at CHR) Leona Lewis-"Bleeding Love" (still hear this occasionally, but seems somewhat forgotten for a song that was #1 for 9 weeks in the not-that-distant past) Jay Sean-"Down" (worked as radio fodder that didn't prove too memorable or distinctive over the long term) Iyaz-"Replay" (same as "Down") Bruno Mars-"It Will Rain" (I tend to forget this probably because my local CHR dropped it way too early, but he's had a bunch of more memorable hits) Flo Rida-"Whistle" (just two years ago, so maybe early to call it forgotten, but it seems like it just sort of came and went)

I guess we don't listen to any of the same stations or other outlets. You must have heard them more recently than I or anyone else I know has. (And I particularly like the JT song, but there's about ten others from him that I've heard more recently or frequently in recurrent rotation, from whatever source.)

"Listen to Your Heart," DHT Literally the fist thing I thought of when I saw the title. No Air is another, I cannot recall when I heard it last, but it was probably before 2010.

"No Air" also didn't hit No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Top 40 chart.
I don't think there's a comprehensive list of all the No. 1s at pop radio.

I've never heard of this 3 Doors Down song - "When I'm Gone" Que? That still gets a hell of a lot of recurrent AirPlay. I'm pretty sure you've heard it but didn't know what it was.

I have never once heard I Wanna Go by Britney Spears on a pop station ever. At least the ones near me, I wasn't listening to CHR in 2011 but it was never a recurrent here.

Now that I think of it, I haven't heard that one in a while, either; ironically just this afternoon I heard its predecessor, "Till the World Ends" (which peaked at #3) on my local CHR. Of Britney's #1's, "Toxic" (2004) is the one I've heard most recently on radio. I haven't heard "Oops...", "Womanizer", or "Circus" in a long time though I don't consider them generally forgotten.

I've heard Circus a few times in the past few years, but I don't think I've ever heard I Wanna Go once it finished its run. The only single from that project I ever hear anywhere is Till The World Ends. I'm sure most wouldn't believe you if you told them that that peaked lower than I Wanna Go on pop radio.

I would like to point out that the I Wanna Go video is Britney's most viewed music video on youtube. Yes, it's ahead of Till The World Ends and all of her recent #1 CHR hits.

It might just be because I am in the South, but lord When I Am Gone is by FAR the biggest song from 3 Doors Down and I still hear it pretty frequently. But, it is also a good ole boy/military mentality making that happen though so I get that it may be pretty regional or audience-specific. I also hear My Love and Bleeding Love quite a bit still. Every other choice in here seems pretty accurate though.

I Wanna Go is far less remembered than TTWE even at the time it felt like less of a hit, the question is how and why did this happen?

This doesn't count since it peaked at #2 but I have never once even heard Just Can't Get Enough by the Black Eyed Peas. Probably because all the radio stations stopped playing it after they realized how awful they were. (Then again 2011 sucked for them as a whole)
