Up until today, I have only ever listened to old stuff on vinyl (mostly 60s/70s with a little 80s thrown in) and listened to all post 80s music on digital. But then I picked up a copy of Kacey Musgraves' album Same Trailer, Different Park on vinyl, which I absolutely adored on digital, and listening to it on vinyl has given me a totally new appreciation for the album. I think this will definitely be the start of me picking up some more recent stuff on vinyls.
What about you guys?

(This makes me really want a record player - I have a small vinyl collection, including Same Trailer, Different Park, but haven't been able to listen to it yet.)
But to answer your question, yes, most of my vinyl is new - and right now, most of it is made of Record Store Day exclusives. I have a feeling I'll inherit my parents' older vinyl (70s/80s) when/if I get my own record player.

It can be a little pricey to get started if you want a good one, but it's totally worth it. I have a U-Turn Orbit table that I absolutely love

I have some, but my record player is kind of cheap, so I don't listen to it that much. I like vinyl mostly for the artwork.

Nearly all of my records are newer ones. Most of them are duplicates of albums I own (and love) on CD already but there have been a few that I bought on vinyl that I didn't already own, such as the You + Me album.

My dad has one stored away at his store that I've been meaning to take down and take home with me lol. I would love to see if it still works. I'd probably buy a vinyl to see, if it doesn't I probably wouldn't care lol. Is there like a major difference in listening to something on vinyl?

Is there like a major difference in listening to something on vinyl? It's definitely a different experience. Listening on vinyl is an active experience. You can't just click a button and let it play in the background while you forget about it playing. It's an active experience to have to pay attention to what song is on and flip the record, its just a lot more engaged than other formats. Plus, I think it gives a fuller, warmer sound. There have been a lot of songs that even if I've heard it a thousand times on mp3, I hear something new on the vinyl that I hadn't noticed before.

The big differences come from the way the songs are mastered. Mp3s have a less dynamic range because of how they are compressed. Vinyl allows for the songs to be heard closer to how they sounded when they were recorded

I'd love to have vinyl collection some day, but I'm not sure if I'd pay full price for a contemporary album after I'd bought it digitally. If I only listened to it on Spotify, then maybe, but I usually end up buying the ones I stream a lot. If I can find one for a cheaper price then most likely. I'm waiting now until I have my own place and then I'll save up to buy a nicer one that'll last. In the same boat here, I really want to invest in a good one.

I actually just bought the new Foo Fighters on vinyl on Monday. I also mostly have 60's, 70's, and 80's on vinyl but I do have a few things on vinyl from after the 80's - I have Alanis's Jagged Little Pill and Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, Christina Aguilera's Stripped, Nirvana's Nevermind, and Lita Ford's Living Like A Runaway. I also have vinyl singles of songs like "Honey" from Mariah and "You're Makin' Me High" from Toni Braxton.

Sometimes. I don't have a record player (I want one one day), but I have started a vinyl collection. The only two I own (Night Visions & AM) are newer, so I evidently tend to go for newer records. I mainly purchased the two I own because I got a nice deal on them. It really all depends on pricing.
