Intro: Lots of red I see, but do I see some blue near the top? Let's take a look...
Hello everyone and welcome back to the top 44. 30 weeks have elapsed this season, and with the 4th around the corner, family and listening to music while traveling will play a big role in what could the next big shake up on this chart! Alright, we'll worry about that next week, let's dive into this week! A 5th straight week of gains helps Skrillex, Diplo, and JB as they secure a 3rd week at #1 and 6 more points with "Where Are U Now." With the music video expected very soon, this could help propel its reign into July as the summer gets a little hotter (except in my hometown, we're expecting 76 degrees and mostly sunny this 4th currently :( ).
After enduring a little trouble over its life in the lower section of the top 5, Major Lazer, DJ Snake, and MO successfully move up 3-2 with "Lean On." It also picks up 5 points, leaving the difference between them and WAUN now 13 points. Do I sense a top 2 lockdown this July? Very possible. After 3 weeks at #1 and 2 weeks at #2, T-Swift and Kendrick Lamar fall 2-3 and lose 4 points with "Bad Blood." Even though it has been falling ever since Week 3, the top 3 holds all the points, assuring BB a further stay into the top 3 for at least another week.
Below the top 3, David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, Afrojack, and Bebe Rexha climb up 6-4 with "Hey Mama" and OMI stays even at #5 with "Cheerleader." Just below the top 5, Selena Gomez and A$AP Rocky blast into #6 with "Good For You." With the debut, it easily becomes Selena's 2nd top 10 hit and should it go in the right direction next week, it should become her biggest hit here (THWWIW peaked at #5 earlier this tracking period).
In the rest of the top 10, Fifth Harmony and Kid Ink stay at #7 with "Worth It," DJ Snake and Alunageorge gets hit with a hard blow as "You Know You Like It" falls 4-8, Nicki Minaj's "The Night is Still Young" falls 8-9, and Zedd and Jon Bellion's "Beautiful Now" returns to the top 10 as it lifts 12-10.
Below the top 10, Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" packs a powerful punch as it vaults up 21-11 and Andy Grammar's "Honey, I'm Good" returns to its peak of #12. Besides GFY, The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" starts at #24 and "Sparks" by Hillary Duff, one of Pulse's most talked about and loved tracks currently, starts at #37. Re-entering this week is Shawn Mendes' "Stitches" at #44.JL44's Top 44 as of 06•26•15 (WK113, Chart #187)TW:LW:PK:WKS01:01:01:16 Where Are U Now by Skrillex and Diplo ft. Intro: Another red chart, but do I sense major song movements? Let's find out:
Hello everyone and welcome back to the Top 44. And at last, here we are: The 4th of July weekend! This will be the playlist I play while traveling north for the weekend tomorrow, let's see what order it will be played in! To start out Week 31 of the 2015 season are 3 familiar songs. For a fourth week, Skrillex, Diplo, and Justin Bieber stay at the summit with "Where Are U Now." It also picks up 2 points along the way, but it does NOT extend its lead over #2. Although Major Lazer, DJ Snake, and MO remain at #2 with "Lean On," they gain 7 points this week to cut WAUN's lead to 8 points. Could "Lean On" top the chart this month? Very possible... Also spending a 2nd week at #3 and losing 9 points along the way is T-Swift and Kendrick Lamar's "Bad Blood."
For the second week in a row, a song debuts in the top 10. And not just the top 10, the top 5! Blasting into #4 this week is Demi Lovato with her new summer bop "Cool for the Summer." And an interesting fact: Exactly one year ago, on the 07•04•14 chart, Ariana Grande and Zedd debuted at #4 with "Break Free," which would go on to peak at #2 for a few weeks and finish #20 on the 2014 Year End Chart. A trend? No. A promising chart run for this song? Maybe. Rounding out the top 5 is OMI's "Cheerleader," as it stays at #5.
After peaking at #4 last week, David Guetta and company fall to #6 with "Hey Mama" and after debuting at #6 last week, Selena Gomez and A$AP Rocky fall a spot to #7. Two new songs enter the top 10 this week: The first being Andy Grammar's "Honey, I'm Good," which climbs 12-8, and The Weeknd's newest single "Can't Feel My Face," as it blasts 24-9 after its debut last week.
Here's another interesting fact: My family is to thank for Andy Grammar's ascent into the top 10. Unlike me, my parents listen to only a small portion of mainstream music (they prefer songs sung in the 20th century) and my siblings' music playlists consist of PARODIES of all things. But when this turned on a few times in WI, IL, and IN, they all sang along. Glad we could finally find some common ground in terms of music. Now, The Weeknd's major move this week is all me, I will say that. Alright, going back to the countdown, Fifth Harmony and Kid Ink closes the top 10 as "Worth It" falls 7-10.
Below the top 10, Pitbull and Chris Brown moves 16-14 with "Fun," Blake Shelton's "Sangria" climbs 20-16, Fall Out Boy's "Uma Therman" climbs 19-17, Zedd and Bahari's "Addicted to a Memory" climbs 22-20, and Hillary Duff also nets a 15 position gain as she goes up 37-22 with "Sparks." Besides Demi Lovato, 2 other songs debut that will make Daniel Collins and Mikey happy: Hunter Hayes appropriately debuts at #21 with his new single "21," and Zedd nets yet another Top 44 debut as "Transmission," ft. Logic and X Ambassadors, debuts at #42.JL44's Top 44 as of 07•03•15 (WK114, Chart #188)TW:LW:PK:WKS01:01:01:17 Where Are U Now by Skrillex and Diplo ft. Lean on needs to go #1 :v Lean On cut the lead by 5 this week. I'd say there's an 80% chance this'll hit #1 in July. ;)

Before I go ahead and make my Mid-Year countdown, I gotta ask y'all an important question about the tracking period: Daryl the Beryl, H., Mikel Echarri, nick64, @markg94, trustypepper, Unhinged, or surfy, currently my tracking period is from December to November of every year, exactly the same as Billboard's. My best guess for that is because they need the majority of December to prepare, tally up, and print the Year End Chart for that year before the year is out. Originally, I am doing my tracking period the same way because it gives me time to present the best songs of the year and give an awards ceremony before we officially say good-bye to that year and move into the new year. Seems like everyone's tracking period for their chart here on the forum is from January to December and it makes perfect sense why, but everyone does their presentations of the year in either January and February of the new year and to me, it doesn't seem like the right way to do it. I know it may seem crazy to some of you (well, in my case a LOT of you), but if you think about it, some people who are avid music listeners here (most of you in that case) wants to never hear of certain songs again if possible in the new year or be reminded of them. Basically, I'm trying to say, "What happened in 2015 stays in 2015. Don't need a reminder of it in 2016." In light of all these facts I've noted in my time here on the forum, basically what I'm thinking is that I should move my tracking period to fit in more with the calendar year. Here's what I was thinking: From the last week of the old year to the second to last week of the new year (In this case, 12-26-14 to 12-18-15). This way, it fits more into 2015 and still gives me time to present my 2015 chart and awards before 2015 is out. Do you like my idea? Like the old method? Any comments or thoughts you'd like to add to my thinking here? Let me know, every piece of information helps me. Thanks everyone. :)

If December to November tracking week suits you then by all means do it! It's your chart so it's ultimately up to you :)

Personally I've always been a fan of the December to November tracking period, but the decision is up to you. I can understand both sides, really.

Alright, I've made a decision on the Year End Chart format. Starting in 2016, for the year-end chart format, it'll run from the second to last week of December to the third to last week of December every year (From 12/18-24/20?? to 12/11-17/20?? of every year). That way, I get 14-20 days every year to finalize results and present everything for the year before it is out. Also, this date format is so that it fits more into the year format. The seasonal chart format will stay the same (Dec-Feb for W, Mar-May for Sp, Jun-Aug for Su, and Sep-Nov for F).
This means December 4 and December 11's charts won't be accounted for when tallying up 2015 or 2016's Year End Charts, but they will be accounted in preparation for next year's updated All Time Chart! :)

Intro: Who benefited, who shows strengths, and who's done this week? Let's find out...
Hello and welcome back to the Top 44, where I promise you no major surprises, but some things you'll like (or at least I hope so). So here we are as we go into Week 32 and, as I've told you, the 4th and the party music has made an effect on a few songs. A lot of songs went down this week, but a few have benefited a lot. And I'll tell you who benefited the most: Jack U and JB! That's right, last week, it seemed as though "Where Are U Now"s run could've ended this week, instead, it extends its run for another week or two. It clinches a 5th week at #1 and gains 10 points along the way, as they extend their lead by 13 thanks to the 4th, the radio, my family, and the Hot 100 update!
For a 3rd week, Major Lazer, DJ Snake, and MO stays at #2 with "Lean On" and it loses 3 points mainly because of WAUN's gain this week and sadly... it's fall on the Hot 100 this week. HOWEVER... for those of you worrying about "Lean On" ever seeing the summit for at least a week, don't worry. Had this not been popular around the 4th, this would've lost more points. And there's still time for the tables to turn, I'm confident its run isn't over yet. And to round out the top 3 is another artist that benefited from the 4th: The Weeknd. He blasts another 6 spots to #3 with "Can't Feel My Face," which may be entering the race for the summit soon.
After 7 weeks in the top 3, T-Swift and Kendrick Lamar's "Bad Blood" falls a spot to #4 and loses the remainder of its points. And, just to make to speed the commentary a little more, every song from 5-9 fell a spot this week. Demi Lovato fell 4-5 with "Cool For the Summer," OMI fell 5-6 with "Cheerleader," David Guetta and company fell 6-7 with "Hey Mama," Selena Gomez and A$AP Rocky fell 7-8 with "Good For You," Andy Grammar fell 8-9 with "Honey, I'm Good," and Fifth Harmony and Kid Ink stays put at #10 with "Worth It."
Below the top 10, Pitbull and Chris Brown rises 14-12 with "Fun," Fall Out Boy rises 17-13 with "Uma Therman," Ed Sheeran rises 18-14 with "Photograph," and Zedd and Bahari rises 20-16 with "Addicted to a Memory." The Weeknd strikes again this week as "The Hills" re-enters at #19 and the highest debut this week is Tove Lo's "Timebomb," as it debuts at #30.JL44's Top 44 as of 07•10•15 (WK115, Chart #189)TW:LW:PK:WKS01:01:01:18 Where Are U Now by Skrillex and Diplo ft.
