Not that I don't like 7 Years lol I do like it a lot (otherwise it wouldn't be top 5 on my chart) it's just that I like ITAPII a lot more (and I feel like it's just growing on me more and more) and 7Y already got 4 weeks at #1 that being said, I won't be upset if 7 Years does get more weeks at #1 (and here's to hoping it finally dethrones "Work" on the Hot 100 next week...)

"New Romantics" is falling :( So glad to see "Dangerous Woman" gaining though, and "7 Years" still at the top spot

Dangerous Womam & Never Forget You FTW Nice to see Close almost in the top ten And All My Friends in the top 20 Hoping 7 Years gets dethroned by the 3 songs next to it since I highly like all of those.

Hoping ITAPII can return to #1! It's very possible. Normally, burn rate for 7Y would explain why Ibiza still could go up, but recent events here are why it has a chance. Glad to see Disturbed debut! Hoping Ibiza can dethrone 7 Years too. Glad to see someone else like Disturbed's cover. "New Romantics" is falling :( So glad to see "Dangerous Woman" gaining though, and "7 Years" still at the top spot Yeah, NR quickly burned out b/c 96.5 played the hell out of that song. Dangerous Womam & Never Forget You FTW Nice to see Close almost in the top ten And All My Friends in the top 20 Hoping 7 Years gets dethroned by the 3 songs next to it since I highly like all of those. Well, Ibiza could recapture the summit, but the race for 40 has been pretty unpredictable. I'm not pulling for any specific song yet, maybe this week will finally be the one where I know who gets #40. Thanks for commenting. Great, great debut for Disturbed! :) #Love Yes, another TSOS fan!

I LOVE your top 5!!!
I'm glad to see 7 Years get these weeks at #1 :) but like other people said, I hope ITAPII could return to #1 for maybe 1 more week.
I hope Never Forget You can reach #1! I would also be glad to see Dangerous Woman or Don't Let Me Down hit #1! :)

Love your top 3 and #5! Hope ITAPII has a chance to return to top It's looking very likely. Ibiza's already bested 7 Years in listening so far in the TP to next week's chart. ;) I LOVE your top 5!!! :) It definitely looks good for Ibiza (see comment above) to recapture the summit for at least another week. Regarding the race to 40, I'm not pulling for any of the three candidates as of now, we'll see what happens as the week progresses, but if all 3 don't get it, I see potential in The Sound of Silence. Daryl the Beryl treborTSOS was my #1 listened to song for this week's chart, giving it that hefty debut and, along with good support from Pulse, as it increases in the mainstream, this is likely to climb up. These past four five weeks have literally been anyone's game, and the shifts so far do not project a winner yet, but it will come soon, I promise.

Intro: An incredible downfall for a summit leader, and an incredible comeback for a song looking for more time at #1. Let's talk about it.
soundcloud.com/free-intro-music/lino-rise-intro-what-everestHello and welcome back to the chart. Well, as said before, Pulse can put as low as almost 0% of an impact here on my chart and as high as 30% in any given week. In just two weeks, the seesaw between the Top 2 songs went opposite directions just like that and next week, it will reach its new position.About to hit the bottom of that seesaw is Lukas Graham, as he loses 6 points, but barely holds on to the summit for a fifth week with "7 Years." I think by now we all know why it's fallen from its gracepoint, but I still don't think this will have a hard downfall after it surrenders the summit. It'll easily drop though by the looks of things if things keep going the way they are. Rising to the top of the seesaw is Mike Ponser as he gains four points with "I Took a Pill in Ibiza." The former two week reigner also gains 4 points this week, cutting the deficit from 14 points last week to 4. As "7 Years" popularity tumbled on a overall scale, "Ibiza" made up ground in almost every category, giving it not only renewed longevity, but a good chance to score another few weeks on top. If "7 Years" didn't come around, this would most likely be in its 7th week at #1, nevertheless, great comeback. Below the deadlocked Top 2 taking place for a 6th straight week, Zara Larsson and MNEK score three points and rise up to #3 with "Never Forget You." This is mainly due to Zara's new debut this week at #16, which is "Lush Life." Up a spot to a new peak of #4 is The Chainsmokers with "Don't Let Me Down," featuring Daya, down 3-5 is Ariana Grande with "Dangerous Woman," and up 8-6 is Disturbed as they score 6 points with "The Sound of Silence." Still no sign of a winner yet in the race for the chart's 40th #1, but Zara Larsson now takes the lead and Disturbed moves significantly up in the race.Nick Jonas' latest single "Close," featuring Tove Lo, bursts 11-7 in its fourth week, Twenty-One Pilots falls 7-8 with "Ride," DJ Snake's "Middle," featuring Bipolar Sunshine, falls 6-9, and Twenty-One Pilots scores their 3rd Top 10 as "Car Radio" blasts 16-10. What a great chart this week!
Great rebound for ITAPII! :)
YES! Never Forget You is now #3!!! Don't Let Me Down #4! Close #7!
I'm so glad to see Car Radio hit the top 10, despite being 3 years old! It's nice to see some old songs get a chance for great success. :)
Yay for Lush Life! Also nice to see One Dance debut this week, as well!
One question: Why did 7 Years slip so hard?

but why must you spoil the future result? :( anyway, spectacular top 5 and nice to see Lukas compensating for the weeks they didn't get at #1 on the Hot 100 - R.I.P. :'( and I'd be glad to see Mike get more weeks at #1 as I still love the song! {Spoiler for my chart} You might not like what is possibly to come in this next week...

One question: Why did 7 Years slip so hard? 55% of it is because my listenage of the song was cut in half these past few weeks, 35% is because of Pulse, and 10% is because its burn rate began to kick in this week.

but why must you spoil the future result? :( B/c Lukas Graham fell too hard, Ibiza rebounded enough and still doesn't have a burn rate, and no one below the Top 2 is strong enough to top either song. anyway, spectacular top 5 and nice to see Lukas compensating for the weeks they didn't get at #1 on the Hot 100 - R.I.P. :'( and I'd be glad to see Mike get more weeks at #1 as I still love the song! Wow. I see the "7 Years Discussion" thread probably played a big part in the Pulse part.

omg yay Lush Life debuted! How did I not notice? great debut for that song! I hope it smashes this summer so it can have a similar run to Rather Be on my chart (and perhaps hit #1, which Rather Be came so close to doing but just missed...)

Oh no DW went down Yay NFY went up Holy shit Lush Life and that debut though Yay Close went up Yay All My Friends went up And I hope Team doesn't end up keeping that current peak. Also I agree with Mark's choices for next chart topper, well not DLMD but I prefer it over 7 Years so it'd be fine.

Intro: Welcome to this week's chart.Tonight, we remember the loss of one of rock's biggest and most influential artists: Prince. Having grown up listening to classic rock and almost anything from the 20th century, Prince was one of my favorite artists listening to growing up. When traveling to and from elementary school every weekday, my mom and I would either be listening to Christian music or any of my father's CD's that he'd let us borrow as we traveled our commutes in our little purple Plymouth Voyager. Two of my favorite tracks of all time him? When Doves Cry and Purple Rain.Like a few other artists/bands I know of today, in most of Prince's discography, he puts deep meaning in the lyrics to his songs. These two are no exception. In Purple Rain, Prince portrays purple as a color of good judgment and, from a religious viewpoint, a way of seeking spiritual fulfillment. I've also heard over the years that those surrounded by purple will have a peace of mind, and after hearing this again recently, it definitely has a new meaning to me. I've never seen the movie Purple Rain, but I definitely heard the song "When Doves Cry" when I was younger a few times as well. I did cheat and did some research on this after listening to this again following Prince's death (because it had been more than a decade since I heard this), and I understand this much more now. If you listen to the keyboards carefully in the chorus, they're supposed to symbolize doves crying. To Prince, music was his refuge as he was worried he would grow up to be like his violent parents. It's sad we have lost another legend this month. In respect to Prince, the commentary will run silent and the chart will be presented in shades of purple in respect to "Purple Rain." RIP Prince, you will be missed.Race for the next #1:28% - The Sound of Silence 24% - Never Forget You 24% - Don't Let Me Down 17% - Dangerous Woman 07% - Others One Year Ago Today:JL44's Top 44 as of 05•01•15 (WK105, Chart #179)TW:LW:PK:WKS01:01:01:14 Shut Up and Dance by Walk The Moon (30) (Third week at #1) 02:03:02:10 Talking Body by Tove Lo (16) 03:09:03:04 See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ft. I'm not in my A game right now, I'm currently under fire in another section of the forum... But glad you're happy with Ibiza back on top. Anyways, I'm glad that ITAPII managed to return to #1 :) Thanks. Very nice tribute to Prince. Thank you.
