Intro: Drake still on top, #42 next week? soundcloud.com/free-intro-music/lino-rise-intro-what-everestHello and welcome back to the chart. It's the 25th week of the tracking period and you know what that means... Mid-Year chart coming soon. Also, in light of recent trends and to keep the chart looking fresh, I will do a test run over the second half of the 2016 tracking period and implement a few new rules. More on that at the end of this week's chart...
For a third week, Drake reigns the Top 44 with "One Dance," featuring Wizkid and Kyla. Although it goes up two points as well, it's in trouble next week as Calvin Harris' "This is What You Came For," featuring Rihanna, stays at #2 but bolts up 5 points. Should things go the way they're looking, Calvin Harris should be locking up his 3rd #1 next week.
Staying even at #3, down 3 points, and falling in its chances for #1 is JT's "Can't Stop the Feeling!" and thanks to its tournament win, Mike Posner stays at #4 with "I Took a Pill in Ibiza." Closing out the Top 5 at #5 is Ariana Grande's "Into You," even and up 2 points.
In its fourth week on the chart, One Republic bolts 8-6 with "Wherever I Go" and in only its second week on the chart, Sia soars 15-7 with "Cheap Thrills," featuring Sean Paul. Down 6-8 is Nick Jonas' "Close," featuring Tove Lo, down 7-9 is The Chainsmokers' "Don't Let Me Down," featuring Daya, and scoring its second Top 10 hit is X Ambassadors as they go up 12-10 with "Unsteady."
Below the chart, Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias' "Messin' Around" goes up 20-16 and Adele's latest, "Send My Love" is up 18-17. The chart welcomes two new songs with DJ Khaled's "For Free," featuring Drake, leading the way at #18.

Intro: Calvin Harris is now in some elite company.
soundcloud.com/free-intro-music/lino-rise-intro-what-everestHello and welcome back. Twenty-six weeks have elapsed already, and the Mid-Year charts are currently being finalized. New tournaments are in the question and for the first time in chart history, a new rule will be taking place next week. Almost 150 songs have made it here, and so far, 53 are virtually guarenteed a spot in the YE chart. One song is 11 points away from becoming the 8th Diamond song in chart history, a Top 10 song right now is well on their way to possibly joining that exclusive club, and maybe, just maybe, a duo could accomplish something only Justin Bieber and will.i.am have done in chart history... Before we go into depth on this week's chart, here is the new recurrent rule currently set to go next week:
- Any song that re-enters the chart at least a year after its original debut must go up, stay even, or drop only one position to stay alive. Anything lower than one position and it's off. This would apply to Summer, currently #35 on the board. So far this summer, it's racked up an extra 40 points and went 7x Platinum. Last summer, it scored only 2 points, then fell off. Since this went down two spots today, this would've meant a drop-off should the rule be in effect now.
Any questions or comments? Let me know please...
Here we go into the chart and up a spot to #1 is Calvin Harris' "This is What You Came For," featuring Rihanna. With the 5 point gain, TIWYCF becomes the 42nd #1 and Calvin Harris' third #1, making him the fourth artist in chart history to score at least three #1's. His first two #1's were both from 2014, which were "Summer" and "Blame," featuring John Newman. This also gives Rihanna her second #1 and her first #1 in nearly 3 years (she first hit #1 as a featured artist on Eminem's "The Monster."). With the rise of Calvin and Rihanna, it brings Drake's "One Dance," featuring Kyla and Wizkid, down a spot to #2 and down 3 points. Closing out the top 3 is Ariana Grande, as she soars 8 points and up two spots to #3 with "Into You."
JT falls to #4 with "Can't Stop the Feeling!" and is down 6 points thanks to a quick burn rate. Sorry, but the radio is to thank for that. Down to #5 in its 17th week in the Top 5 region (and potentially its last) is Mike Posner's "Ibiza." Looking to make Top 5 next week is Sia's "Cheap Thrills," featuring Sean Paul, as it climbs up 7-6 in its third week and scores 4 points.
Down a spot to #7 is One Republic's "Wherever I Go," X Ambassadors rises a spot to #9 with "Unsteady," and thanks to a a strong weekend of listening, 21P's "Ride" returns to the Top 10, up 2 spots. Just a few days ago, I began my 3 month free trial of Apple Music and am sensing I will be expanding my music interests even further. One EDM song I got quickly hooked to was "Blackout" by Tritonal ft. Steph Jones and all 100% of its #8 debut is thanks to listenage (this normally impacts each song's position by 60-70%). Another song I got hooked to was "Faded" by Alan Walker and it got a #18 debut. I found out later this actually did graze the Hot 100. Through these three months, Apple will definitely introduce me to new music along with this forum and maybe over time, who knows? This could impact the chart. We'll just have to see...

Intro: A second week on top for Calvin and the seventh Top 2 debut in chart history.
https%3A//soundcloud.com/nickdesignhu2/nickdesign-intro-tomee-1Hello and welcome back. Been a little busy this week and I don't see myself finding more time here anytime soon. Not today's worries though, it's the 27th week in the season and the chart is shaken up this week.Despite a three point drop this week, Calvin Harris scores a 2nd week at #1 with "This is What You Came For," featuring Rihanna. The small loss might not seem so great though as it finds itself in trouble to losing the summit as early as next week. One song it shouldn't worry too much about yet is Ariana Grande's "Into You," staying put at #3 this week. But the big news this week? What's in the runner up spot currently. Soaring in at #2 is Twenty-One Pilots with "Heathens." This marks the duo's fourth Top 10 and second Top 5 as they continue their banner year. In addition to the #2 debut, "Ride" is almost 7x Platinum and I am happy to tell you all that "Stressed Out" is now a part of history. The song just became the eighth song in chart history to score a diamond certification, congrats to them.
Down 10 points is Drake's "One Dance," featuring Wizkid and Kyla, down 2-4, and up 5 points is Sia's "Cheap Thrills," featuring Sean Paul, as it goes up 6-5. Down 4-6 is JT's "Can't Stop the Feeling," staying even at #7 is One Republic's "Wherever I Go," and down 5-8 is Mike Posner's "Ibiza," as it becomes the chart's 24th song ever to score an 8x Platinum certification. It all depends on its longevity, but "Ibiza" could have a chance to score a Diamond certification.
Another song debuts in the Top 10 this week and it belongs to Flume's "Never Be Like You," featuring Kai, as it debuts at #9. Closing out the Top 10 is X Ambassadors as they fall 9-10 with "Unsteady."

Those are summit points and it shows how far away one song is from another in that region. CT scored 40 points this week and Ibiza scored 37. Oh, in that case ITAPII can get 170 more by August if it holds up

Intro: A battle for #43 seems certain now, and is there a trend with the 4th of July #1?https%3A//soundcloud.com/nickdesignhu2/nickdesign-intro-tomee-1Hello and welcome back. The end of June is here and this is the fourth annual 4th of July chart. I may be sensing a pattern around this time and do we have a battle developing for the next #1? Yes I do.
The fourth 4th of July #1 belongs to Calvin Harris' "This is What You Came For," featuring Rihanna, as it scores a third week at #1 and goes up two points. This marks his second #1 and makes him the second artist to score two #1's on the 4th of July. Two years ago, on the 2014's 4th of July chart, he was #1 with "Summer." Justin Bieber is the other as he scored #1 as a featured artist on will.i.am's "#thatPOWER" in 2013 and Skrillex and Diplo's "Where Are U Now" in 2015. With the current trend, is Bieber going to lead the 2017 chart?
Down two points, but even at #2, is Twenty-One Pilots' "Heathens" and up one point, but staying put at #3, is Ariana Grande's "Into You." I don't see 21P challenging the summit immediately as it lacks the mainstream factor right now, which now gives Ariana Grande a chance at the summit as its mainstream factor begins increasing.
Ariana's chances at a third #1 is looking good, but don't get too excited; it has some competition. Up six points and going up to #4 is Sia's "Cheap Thrills," featuring Sean Paul. The gap is currently six points, we shall see what happens. I don't think One Republic will score the 43rd #1, but it may become a contender as "Wherever I Go" scores 5 points and goes up a spot to #5.
Drake falls 2 spots to #6 with "One Dance," featuring Wizkid and Kyla, up 2 spots to #7 is Flume's "Never Be Like You," featuring Kai, and down 2 spots to #8 is JT's "Can't Stop the Feeling!." Adele scores her 3rd Top 10 as "Send My Love" rises 13-9 and Zara Larsson returns to the Top 10 as "Lush Life" rises 15-10.
