I can not spot one single flaw. Best Dance/Electronic Album Syro, Aphex Twin While (1), Deadmaus Nabuma Rubberband, Little Dragon Do It Again, Röyksopp & Robyn Damage Control, Mat Zo Best Dance Recording "Never Say Never," Basement Jaxx "Rather Be," Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne "F for You," Disclosure ft. Mary J. Blige "I Got U," Duke Dumont ft. Jax Jones "Faded," Zhu Best Remixed Recording All Of Me (Tiesto's Birthday Treatment Remix) Tijs Michiel Verwest, remixer (John Legend) Falling Out (Ming Remix) MING, remixer (Crossfingers Featuring Danny Losito) Pompeii (Audien Remix) Audien, remixer (Bastille) The Rising (Eddie Amador Remix) Eddie Amador, remixer (Five Knives) Smile (Kaskade Edit) Ryan Raddon, remixer (Galantis) Waves (Robin Schulz Remix) Robin Schulz, remixer (Mr. Probz) LOL at "Waves" being set up for an obvious win (though I know the "All Of Me" remix was also HUGE this year). :kii: I would literally not be mad for anyone winning in the main dance categories, though my personal favorites would be Robyn/Royskopp & Basement Jaxx or Disclosure/Mary J.

I think "Waves" got this one in the bag. It has been a great year for Robin Schulz.

I still consider Rather Be pop music, but I hope they win this one.

Agreed that "Waves" is most likely a lock but John Legend is beloved by the Grammys and I wouldn't mind if Tiesto could actually get a win. Nice enough that he's finally nominated again though. Plus, "Waves" is pretty perfect so
I could not be more happy for Mat Zo's nomination! I hope he can take it but I don't think so.
I'm incredibly surprised at how they got the Dance Recording nominations pretty much right.
Do we think any one of these will be televised this year?

Do we think any one of these will be televised this year? I doubt it. That's what disappoints me is when it's not televised for Dance categories. Hopefully I'm wrong and can get televised somehow. This is similar to the Billboard awards when Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina won for "Stereo Love" a few years ago but never was televised. I had to watch on Youtube when Zedd & Foxes won for "Clarity". EDIT: Now that you mentioned John Legend being beloved on Grammys, it might go to Tiesto. It'll be either "Waves" or "All of Me".

No Calvin :( However, the Best Dance Recording category is really solid. I think "Rather Be" or "F for You" could win this, although I'm rooting for "Faded". I wish Disclosure would have submitted the original version instead of the remix with Mary J. Blige since I prefer the first one over the latter, but I think they did that last year. I'm not too sure about this, but I can't complain since it's amazing to see Disclosure getting their second consecutive nod in this category, as well as Duke Dumont. Regarding the Best Remixed Recording category, I also think that "Waves" and "All of Me" are the serious contenders here, but I will go with the former, despite Tiësto made a really good remix for the latter since I don't like the original. Do we think any one of these will be televised this year? I hope so, but I agree with KonamIII and I doubt it will happen though.

I think the nominations are a good balance between the underground and the mainstream. There are no bizarre or random WTF noms as there have been in the past.
I think these ones will be the winners, though any one of them in all three categories are totally deserving.
Best Dance/Electronic Album: Do It Again, Röyksopp & Robyn Best Dance Recording: "Rather Be," Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne Best Remixed Recording: All Of Me (Tiesto's Birthday Treatment Remix) Tijs Michiel Verwest, remixer (John Legend)

Grammys 2015: Dance music categories refreshingly credible By August Brown
The nominees in the two major dance-music categories are unexpectedbly savvy and reasonable choices. There will be no EDM spacemen on the Grammy red carpet this year, but here's an even bigger surprise: This year sports a varied and credible slate of dance and electronic music nominees.
Previous Grammys have had an uncertain relationship with dance music. Sometimes they shovel awards at newcomers like Skrillex in an attempt to seem relevant to young crowds. At others, they mangle their good intentions, like 2012's clumsy "Tribute to EDM," which shoehorned David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Foo Fighters and Deadmau5 into one grab-bag performance.
Sometimes, like the unknown Al Walser's nomination-via-palace-intrigue, they prove that many Grammy voters still struggle to understand the category. Not this year, though.
The nominees in the year's two major dance-music categories -- best dance recording and best dance/electronic album -- are unexpectedly savvy and reasonable. There's a mix of big-festival crossovers (Deadmau5, Mat Zo), ambitious populists (Duke Dumont, Robyn and Royksopp, Disclosure) and a few genuinely progressive acts (Aphex Twin, Zhu) that will pleasantly surprise the most Grammy-skeptical club music fan.
And just as importantly, there are no groan-worthy surprises. The acts on both lists show that this year's Grammy voters have paid at least cursory attention to the ways dance music and pop are interacting today.
The previously Grammy-nominated Dumont has taken his '90s-house sound beyond the club circuit and onto pop radio. The same goes for Disclosure's bouncy, soulful Mary J. Blige collaboration "F for You" and Clean Bandit's YouTube breakout "Rather Be," which revived vintage sounds for new audiences that are moving past the merciless 130-bpm thump of EDM. The pristine Nordic electronica of Robyn and Royksopp's "Do It Again" was a high point for both acts, and proved that the dance-pop pipeline runs both directions.
Aphex Twin's "Syro," a comeback LP more than a decade in the making, dominated the electronic-music conversation this year despite being one of the genre's most challenging records. It's easy to see why Grammy voters might have lauded it, but it's worth remembering how dense "Syro" was as an LP. Zhu's spooky and minimal "Faded" became one of the year's breakout tracks despite the cryptic anonymity surrounding its creator.
Now that the initial wave of EDM is tapering off in America, the novelty has worn off and Grammy voters will have to do more legwork in assessing its most influential artists. Hopefully this year signals a new seriousness from the Grammys about dance music, and acts that not only boil over into the pop realm but who achieve success on the genre's own terms.

Such a surprise that Calvin's "Motion" doesn't get nominated for best album :(
There will be hard battle there for the best recording, but i'm rooting for RATHER BE !!!
For the remix, i felt that Audien also has a chance too, following the fact that his remix is one of the most played tracks in the Tomorrow Land, so i'm rooting for him :)

Such a surprise that Calvin's "Motion" doesn't get nominated for best album :( It wasn't submitted by his US label because the eligibility period for the albums to be released was until September 30.

But at least they got the nominations right this year.

Not even MTV televises the dance categories, let alone the Grammy's. They used to on the EMA's back in the late 90s/early 00s, but not anymore.

Yeah, I know. :( You just would think that with dance being so popular in the mainstream over the last 5 years, you'd think they'd finally give it the recognition it deserves.
