YOUR NEW RELEASES: J. Cole is “Apparently” (to borrow his single title) headed for a boffo bow; he’s due to unseat Taylor Swift for #1 on next week's chart. Here are this week's key releases, with album reads first, followed by Sales Plus Streaming (SPS): J. Cole (Roc Nation/Columbia) 320-350k sales / 335-360k SPSCarrie Underwood (19/Arista Nashville) 85-90k sales / 90-95k SPSK. Michelle (Atlantic) 75-80k sales / 80-85k SPSSmashing Pumpkins (BMG) 17-19k sales / 18-20k SPSIn other new-release news, the FX/Fox/Columbia ST to biker drama Sons of Anarchy, which concluded last night, is now in pre-order at iTunes. We've already noted that both the Ed Sheeran song from a prior episode and a cover version from The Voice are in the Top 10 singles there; keep an eye on "Come Join the Murder" by SOA house band The White Buffalo & the Forest Rangers, which accompanied the wrenching final scene of the series finale. It's now at #25. Try not to kill anybody after listening. (12/10a)COLE IN YOUR STOCKING: Early, early reads suggest that Roc Nation/Dreamville/Columbia's J. Cole is on track to move a whopping 240k-270k in his opening week with album 2014 Forest Drive. The set is currently #1 at iTunes on its first day of release; single "Apparently" is just impacting radio now. (12/9p)Great #s.

Fantastic sales for J Cole! I expected about 200k at best given how they've done the rollout.

I expected less than 100k because I had no idea he had a new album coming out. I thought it was very under the radar, but good for him!

He deserves it. His album is flawless from start to finish, honestly one of the best releases of the whole year.

Why is everyone so surprised by J Cole? His last album opened close to 300k when it came out a year and a half ago.

Why is everyone so surprised by J Cole? His last album opened close to 300k when it came out a year and a half ago. Probably because he had no single or promo precede the album release. Not really surprised by the numbers since he has such a strong following, but they are impressive when you consider the rollout.

Great numbers for J. Cole. Haven't had enough time today to check out the album so I'm doing it tomorrow. Hoping for some moody tracks to go along with the weather.

Really hoping Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits will at least open with 75k.

Wow, did he even release a single? Those are great numbers for J. Cole. Really hoping Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits will at least open with 75k. I'm leaning more towards a 60k opening, which is still great for a GH set (+ post-Black Friday).

Wow, did he even release a single? Those are great numbers for J. Cole. Nope, he said he wanted to release just the album, no singles. Looks like the label is going to send something to radio anyway, though. I'm impressed, but not surprised at his numbers. He has a really strong fanbase, and news traveled quickly about this one in hip-hop circles even though he just announced it was coming three weeks ago. Also helps that the overall reaction to it thus far has been stellar.

Truth be told i'm just happy to see a R&B/hip-hop artist getting strong sales. I will lay that out now However J Cole always delivers the goods and is deserving of said sales!

Impressive numbers for J. Cole. His albums are always stellar though, so I'm not that surprised. Also, I'm impressed with the numbers for Carrie and K. Michelle too. They're all solid.
