Favourite Kelly single since MLWSWY. The harmony in the chorus is so good. As ever, her voice takes what could have been a reasonably generic song to better places. Love it!

Absolutely love it! Wish the hook knocked a little harder but then again there's something unique about a non shouts hook that still does the job. Can't wait for more!

I love it, the verses and the pre chorus are on fire and then the chorus kicks in and makes the song stuck in your head doing its job perfectly.
It's nice to have Kelly singing another uplifting and happy song, breaking away a bit from all the heartbreak songs. Very different for her, good job Kelly :)

Oh man, this is gonna be huge. Don't know what people are talking about--that chorus hits hard, but because of melody, not canned guitars.
I love that she is a cowriter on this--it's so different for her. A progression even. Not lyrically, but the structure is different (actually jarring on first listen, but I appreciate the surprises in pace now and think it really comes together) for her. And she's just become so great with her hooks--not something she's really known for. But while there were just a smattering prior to her Christmas album, I think she's been on a crazy-good role, and this is the most effective example.
So fresh, and that chorus can cross just about sny kind of ad. So easy to sing along to, too.

It's infectious (particularly the chorus) and seems to be a good reflection of where she is in her life right now. I don't like the lyrics...a little more trite than we've come to expect from Kelly.
I like it but don't love it. However, it sonically feels like the kind of song that could grow on me more.

I only listened to this song once and I can't get the chorus out of my head, what a smash in the making! Welcome back, Kelly!

I love this upon first listen! It's such a catchy, fun song. Kelly sounds amazing. The production is cute. This will easily be a big hit!

I like it. Not my favorite on an instant reaction, and I wish it was a little less repetitive with the chorus. It feels like that chorus is sung about a dozen times within 3 minutes. I'm afraid that will lead to a quick burn rate. Catchy and fun though. Hope she hits harder with some other stuff on the album though.

f**king instant smash. Her vocals shine on it too, and sound so raw and natural unlike SUBG...
Sooo curious to see how this performs on iTunes. I feel like Kelly has so much goodwill with the public, and this is pure pop bliss. I'm gonna guess it hits the top for awhile. No one can deny a Kelly song tbh.

My favorite part is the "upupupup all night long". I think I even prefer this to MKIA, and that was my favorite lead.

I'm feeling the verses and pre-chorus more than the chorus. This should murder pop radio; VERY catchy song.

It's hella catchy and will probably be huge. That being said, it's disappointingly trite coming from her. It's a Radio Disney song, beneath her intelligence and stature. But it's RCA and I usually hate their single choices, so best of luck. I'm sure I'll love the album tracks.

Billboard Review:
Kelly Clarkson's decade-plus career has been marked by such tidily constructed hits that it feels like she can conjure radio play at will. Now 32 years old and a new mother, Clarkson has returned in style after the release of a greatest hits compilation and a Christmas album; "Heartbeat Song" is the sound of a reinvigorated artist embracing the opportunity to re-prove herself. Re-teaming with "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" mastermind Greg Kurstin, Clarkson has snatched that smash single's driving tempo and added the warm, synthetic heart of the producer's work on Tegan and Sara's 2013 pop opus Heartthrob. The production here never dulls: midway through the second verse, a racing guitar line is flattened out by a walloping collection of drums, and Clarkson confidently strides over the rubble.
"Heartbeat Song" is less of a reinvention than a reassertion, following the longest break between standard studio albums in Clarkson's career. She can still deftly handle a crescendo, deliver a sturdy vocal hook and know when to let her backing music breathe, all while keeping her carbonated charm intact. Clarkson's "Heartbeat Song" represents another surefire hit for one of pop's most reliable architects, and a welcome return for an artist who had taken a well-deserved personal break.

It's also by far the most joyful song she’s ever done. It’s just so triumphant and celebratory. Listening to her drag the men of the world was fun for the first ten years or so, but putting her pipes to work in a whole different way is such a treat to hear.

#38 now. Surprised to see this already inside of top 40. It's definitely moving much faster than Mr. Know It All. Great start for the new era so far! For comparison, MKIA was #250 or something after 10 hours of its initial release on Monday and it took a day and a half to crack top 40.

This song is so sonically cohesive. Even the album cover works perfectly with the song.
I definitely think it will (and should) out-perform MKIA. Mostly because it fits in perfectly with what's on the radio right now.
I seriously can't get the "up up up up all night long, oh up up all night long" out of my head.

So glad it was released last night, it can get some nice opening sales. Once again, HS is so energetic, and happy. Makes me smile.
