How often does a country song (which hasn't crossed over to mainstream) go top 10 on radio? Rarely unless it crosses over into pop or the ACs. The top country hits usually scrape the top 20, though.

How often does a country song (which hasn't crossed over to mainstream) go top 10 on radio? Tim McGraw's 1999 hit "Please Remember me" reached #10; it might have had some AC airplay but, generally, it wasn't a crossover hit. It charted that high off of country airplay and sales, thanks to Tim McGraw's superstar brand.

You can see the top country tracks still are ways off of No. 10's airplay. Without crossover play, they won't get much higher. But, it's impressive that they fare so well off of just one format. On Billboard's latest Radio Songs chart, "Talladega," "Til it's Gone" and "I See You" rank 13-15.

How often does a country song (which hasn't crossed over to mainstream) go top 10 on radio? Only one I can think of off the top of my head is "Dirt Road Anthem" by Jason Aldean. I know there was a remix released with Ludacris but I'm not sure if that was ever pushed to radio or if its just the original one on country stations

My point was taking over #1 not UF breaking radio records No, you quoted this post: "Uptown Funk" is poised to challenge "Blurred Lines" massive radio appeal. 300 Million peak anyone? I don't see it happening because of the season. If this was released in the summer I do think it could've reached that high, but I expect this to stall out around 250 million. It's getting played on Top 40, Hot AC, Rhythmic, AC...and I can see it making it's crossover to Urban and Urban AC pretty soon. Which has nothing to do with the Hot 100 #1. correct. my point was about the Hot 100.

So Rihanna released her first new song in over two years and it is incredibly dissapointing. And wtf is Kanye West doing on this song?

It will be interesting to see if blank space is #1 or uptown funk in AirPlay. Last day it's tomorrow, right?

It's actually the Wednesday update (which captures airplay data from the previous Wednesday until Tuesday inclusive). So it is actually the day after tomorrow. It is more than likely Uptown Funk will be #1 on this week's airplay chart.

Oh so billboard gets the information the same day to formulate the hot 100 Yeah they get it in the morning I'm guessing. They just add it in with the streaming and sales that were already processed from Monday morning

Can't believe Something In The Water is that high on airplay. Thought it would have done better on the hot 100

VEVO Streams: Estimated numbers for non-VEVO videos: 4 million 7/11 & Thinking Out Loud. Maybe 5 million for 7/11 at a push.

It looks like "FourFiveSeconds" did better in its first two days than we thought: www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6450959/rihanna-kanye-west-paul-mccartney-hot-100-fourfivesecondsRihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney Headed for Hot 100 With 'FourFiveSeconds'"FourFiveSeconds," the new track from Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney, should roar onto the Billboard Hot 100 released this week, following the song's arrival on Saturday (Jan. 24). Industry sources suggest that the sunny, acoustic-based track -- in which Rihanna and West trade vocals -- sold between 50,000 and 60,000 downloads on Saturday and Sunday. Radio has also taken a quick liking to the song, as it debuts on Pop Songs at No. 37 with less than two full days of airplay. Thanks to hourly plays Sunday on numerous iHeartMedia-owned stations, it starts on the ranking with more than 1,000 plays on nearly 100 reporters, which translates to a reach of 7.4 million in audience, according to Nielsen Music. The song's sales, airplay and any streaming totals could combine for its debut perhaps in the Hot 100's upper half. On the Digital Songs chart, "FourFiveSeconds" could launch in the top 20. All charts, including the Hot 100 and Digital Songs, will refresh on Billboard.com on Thursday. Highlights of the Hot 100 will post, as always, on Wednesday. After a full first of week of availability, it's likely that "FourFiveSeconds" will vault higher on next week's Hot 100 (to be refreshed on Billboard.com Feb. 5). "FIRST GLIMPSE AT MY NEW MUSIC!!!" Rihanna beamed Saturday on Twitter, directing followers to her website prominently featuring a link to purchase the song in the iTunes Store. She also posted a photo of herself, West and McCartney. In the song's first 48 hours of release, fans sent more than 614,000 tweets about Rihanna and the song, according to Twitter, sending it to No. 1 on the real-time Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart. West earlier previewed the song for industry insiders at last week's three-day iHeartMedia Music Summit at Burbank, Calif.'s iHeartRadio Theatre. Released on Roc Nation, "FourFiveSeconds" is being promoted by Def Jam -- Rihanna's record label -- to pop, adult pop, rhythmic and R&B/hip-hop radio. (While the new track debuts on Pop Songs, West's other new collab with McCartney [on keyboards], "Only One," rises 39-31 in its second week on Rhythmic Songs and debuts at No. 36 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop. It debuted on the Hot 100 at No. 35 and has sold 195,000 downloads in its first two weeks.) "FourFiveSeconds" elicits a "cool, different vibe," says Geespin, assistant program director/music director of R&B/hip-hop WWPR (Power 105.1) New York. The station played the song 18 times through Sunday. "We felt that it was important to expose it to our diverse audience, given the star power of the record." "We expect this song to be one of the biggest of the year," proclaims Alex Tear, PD of Pop Songs panelist WHYI (Y100) Miami (21 plays). "Social media response was immediately strong and the song sounds amazing on-air. Kanye is in a great place; we welcome, with open arms, the return of RiRi; and, to top it off, Paul?! "Home run. I would say it's on its way to No. 1."

Tim McGraw's 1999 hit "Please Remember me" reached #10; it might have had some AC airplay but, generally, it wasn't a crossover hit. It charted that high off of country airplay and sales, thanks to Tim McGraw's superstar brand. Only one I can think of off the top of my head is "Dirt Road Anthem" by Jason Aldean. I know there was a remix released with Ludacris but I'm not sure if that was ever pushed to radio or if its just the original one on country stations He said top 10 airplay not top ten on the Hot 100 though...and I could swear I had heard DRA on CHR or at least HAC back in the day... Just checked, and dirt road anthem didn't make the top 50 on chr

Wait, so Ed gained only 40k Spotify streams on Uptown Funk!? INSANE. Few weeks ago #1 peak for TOL seemed reachable. But with the airplay gap expanding, URBAN AC & URBAN slowly but surely embracing UF!, +100K lead in sales and steady streaming it looks like it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Hot 100 leader 'Uptown Funk!' tops two more tallies. Plus, new No. 1s for Usher and Eric Church, and Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney debut.
Chart Highlights offers a sneak peek at a select group of Billboard charts every Monday. (All charts below are based on radio airplay except for Dance Club Songs, which is based on reports submitted by a panel of DJs.) Find out the top songs, Greatest Gainers and debuts on the surveys listed below.
All our charts are refreshed on Billboard.com and Billboardbiz every Thursday and appear in the next issue of Billboard magazine.
