One confusing thing from the article:
From what it says later in the article, the fourth chart they're referring to is On-demand songs, but doesn't Streaming include that? To quote that chart's How It Works:
In any case, it's nice to see a new climber, especially that it's Fall Out Boy, something I had wanted back in 2013.
It's all going to depend on Hanging Tree and Love Me Harder. If the former is #11 this week and the latter is #12, the chances of lockout are pretty good. If the former is #11-13 and the latter finally begins to fall, I'd say a return for Bass is inevitable, because Hanging Tree is beginning to get -1M AI updates and is quickly losing its sales clout. Centuries is definitely not going to be opposition because sales are going to the edge of the top 10 again plus the album effect should harm its points.

Ok I'd rather AATB be in the top 10 for 50 weeks than for The Hanging Tree be in the top ten

GO FALL OUT BOY!!! I'm shocked this song is still going tbh! Like MSKWYDITD was used throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs when releases, FOB was smart to license it to NCAA for bowl games = it was play a lot during breaks, etc. Great exposure for the track and FOB awareness.

www.yahoo.com/music/rihanna-crashes-the-mccartney-kanye-bromance-109443021166.htmlYahoo Music Rihanna Crashes the McCartney/Kanye Bromance Paul GreinWriterJanuary 28, 2015 TumblrFacebookTwitterPinterestMailWhatsApp Three weeks after “Only One” by Kanye West featuring Paul McCartney was the week’s top new entry on the Hot 100 at #35, the two stars return to the chart with another song, “FourFiveSeconds.” And this time, Rihanna joins them. The new song, which will appear on Rihanna’s upcoming eighth studio album, is the top new entry on this week’s chart at #54.This is the first time since 1989 that McCartney has had two Hot 100 singles in one year. He scored that year with “My Brave Face” (#25 in July) and “This One” (#94 in September). If this song has legs, which seems likely, this will be the first time since 1986 that McCartney has had two top 40 singles in one year. He scored that year with “Spies Like Us” (#7 in February) and “Press” (#21 in September). This week’s big Hot 100 news is that male solo artists hold down the top three spots for the first time in nine months. That was the lead of a Chart Watch blog which we posted earlier. If you missed it, here’s a link. This blog will deal with the week’s top new entries. "Truffle Butter" by Nicki Minaj featuring Drake & Lil Wayne is the week’s second-highest new entry at #71. It’s the fifth Hot 100 song from her current album, The Pinkprint. "Worth It" by Fifth Harmony featuring Kid Ink debuts at #82. The song is from Fifth Harmony’s debut album, Reflection, which is due Feb. 3. This is the fifth Hot 100 hit for Fifth Harmony, which were surprise winners for Artist to Watch at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards. (They beat 5 Seconds of Summer, Sam Smith, ScHoolboy Q, and Charli XCX.) The female quintet’s highest-charting hit to date is “Sledgehammer,” which peaked at #40. Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” debuts at #86. The young hip-hopper is from Paterson, N.J. "Somebody" by Natalie La Rose featuring Jeremih debuts at #94. Three other artists (Bryan Adams, Reba McEntire, and the Lemonade Mouth Cast) have charted with different songs with the same title. La Rose, who was born in Amsterdam, is signed to Flo Rida’s label imprint. Jeremih has amassed three top 10 hits as a lead artist: "Birthday Sex," "Down on Me" (featuring 50 Cent), and "Don’t Tell ‘Em" (featuring YG). Becky G’s “Can’t Stop Dancin’” re-enters the chart at #95. The song, her follow-up to the top 20 hit “Shower,” has climbed as high as #27. Captain & Tennille had a top 20 hit in 1977 with the same title. Fall Out Boy’s “Immortals” debuts at #96. It’s from the Big Hero 6 soundtrack, which was released in November. The group lands its fourth top 10 hit this week as “Centuries” jumps from #12 to #10 in its 20th week. Trey Songz’s “Slow Motion” debuts at #99. It’s from the Reloaded edition of his album Trigga, which entered The Billboard 200 at #1 in July.

Becky G’s “Can’t Stop Dancin’” re-enters the chart at #95. The song, her follow-up to the top 20 hit “Shower,” has climbed as high as #27. Captain & Tennille had a top 20 hit in 1977 with the same title. Which song does Paul mean? Definitely not a Becky G. song, because she only has one hit and that went top 20. Actually, I think he checked Wikipedia on that one, which does list a #27 peak...and I don't know where they got that idea either.

www.yahoo.com/music/male-artists-mount-a-comeback-on-hot-100-109427492311.html Male Artists Mount a Comeback on Hot 100Paul Grein, Yahoo! Chart Watch rJanuary 28, 2015 After being shut out of the top five on the Hot 100 for seven consecutive weeks last year, male solo artists are mounting a comeback. Male solo artists hold down the top three spots for the first time in nine months. “Uptown Funk!” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars logs its fourth week at #1. Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” holds at #2 for the second week. Hozier’s “Take Me to Church,” which peaked at #2, rebounds from #4 to #3. This is the first time that male solo artists have held down the top three spots since April, when Pharrell Williams’s “Happy,” John Legend’s “All of Me,” and “Talk Dirty” by Jason Derulo featuring 2 Chainz held the top three spots. "Uptown Funk!" is Mars’s fourth hit to spend four or more weeks at #1. It follows "Just the Way You Are," "Grenade," and "Locked out of Heaven," which spent six weeks on top. Will "Uptown Funk!" surpass "Heaven" to become Mars’s longest-running #1? Stay tuned. In addition, “Uptown Funk!” moves up to #1 on Radio Songs, displacing Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” which topped that chart for six straight weeks. "Uptown Funk!" logs its fifth week at #1 on Hot Digital Songs. That’s the longest run at #1 for a collabo since "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry featuring Juicy J had five weeks on top in early 2014. "Uptown Funk!" sold 341K copies this week, bringing its 11-week sales total to 2,838,000. "Uptown Funk!" logs its sixth week at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart. That’s the longest run at #1 in the U.K. since "We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris had six weeks on top in 2011. Ronson also enters the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart at #1. Ronson is the first artist to top both U.K. charts in the same week since Miley Cyrus scored in October 2013 with her album Bangerz and her single "Wrecking Ball." "Take Me to Church" tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. It’s #1 on Hot Rock Songs for the 15th week. That’s the longest run at #1 by any song since Lorde’s "Royals" logged 19 weeks at #1 in 2013-‘14. "Royals" won a Grammy as Song of the Year. "Take Me to Church" is nominated for that same award this year. Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” which logged seven weeks at #1, dips from #3 to #4 in its 13th week. Swift’s previous hit, “Shake It Off,” which logged four weeks at #1, holds at #5 for the second week in its 23rd week. Maroon 5’s “Sugar” jumps from #8 to #6 in its second week. This enables it to already tie the peak position of “Maps,” the lead single from Maroon 5’s current album, V. “Animals,” the follow-up single, peaked at #3.

The chart is up!Here are the highlights: -Yeah, it does seem very possible All About That Bass will re-enter the top 10. It falls 10-11 and Love Me Harder falls 11-12, and neither bullet. -I Don't Mind continues to scale the charts primarily on radio power 17-14. I'm predicting this will be the next top 10 climber, possibly peaking around #7. -The Hanging Tree begins to retreat 13-16. Next week should be worse with the declining radio and the reduced power of both the original and remix in sales. -Love Me Like You Do makes the top 20 36-20. This is Ellie Goulding's latest move into the region after Burn a year ago was failingly followed up by Explosions. Speaking of Ellie, her feature on Calvin Harris' Outside gradually grows 58-56. -Relating to Calvin Harris, Blame takes a further plunge 40-50. Definitely poised to go recurrent next week. -Also from the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack, Earned It surges 70-27, well outpeaking its debut. -CoCo, after stalling at #26 for weeks, finally manages a new peak at #23. Will it go top 20 or has the viralness cooled off? -Speaking of viral rap songs, Hot Boy, after falling to #34 last week, is now completely gone. This is the biggest dropoff for a normal-run recurrent since The Man last year, which went down from #32. -Ghost bullets, but retreats 22-24. At least the album effect doesn't seem to be taking place, but will it endure like other British crossovers? -Newly in the hit zone: Style (52-37), She Knows (50-38), and Prayer in C (47-40). -The music video for Don't Tell 'Em may have finally given it an edge of longtime chart companion Black Widow last week (they were #39 and #44, respectively). However, the effect has withered, as now both are on the edge of the top 50 at #47 and #48 respectively. -Back in the top 50 is Sledgehammer, bulleting 51-49. -Following its surge to the top 20 on iTunes, Take Your Time now lurks behind the top 50 71-53. -Fueled by Earned It, The Weeknd's own single Often hits a new peak 67-59. -It appears most people interested in buying All About It bit at the 99 cent offer instead of this (and next) week's 69 cent offer; it only advances 78-76. -Gone this week: Hot Boy (34-X, recurrent), Touchin' Lovin' (62-X, recurrent), Hold You Down (68-X, recurrent), Dear Future Husband (84-X), Only One (85-X), Glory (92-X), No Love (97-X), and I Mean It (100-X).

3 4 Blank Space, Taylor Swift | 13 weeks 5 5 Shake It Off, Taylor Swift | 23 weeks
This alone shows the enormous longevity of Shake It Off...the fact that Blank Space was released 2.5 months after Shake It Off, spent 7 weeks at #1, but is basically neck and neck with Shake It Off...

Shake It Off is benefitting from Christmas card sales which boosted it, combined with the viral video of that cop singing it.

Christmas card sales died off weeks ago. That's having an effect on literally nothing anymore. That viral video with the cop helps, yes, but "Shake It Off" is still smashing it with or without that viral video.

That "most consecutive weeks in top ten for a song that debuted there" is sort of record not many people care about, it just states that a song had a great debut and decent longevity, but whatever rocks your boat.
Does anyone know if the video for Style has been shot?
