Unwell - Matchbox Twenty The instrumentation is very country sounding. They have a couple others that could fit as well: "Bright Lights" and especially "I'll Believe You When" I also think that a couple of Rob Thomas' solo songs sound kind of country, specifically "When The Heartache Ends", "Problem Girl" and "Getting Late".

Lost Frequencies - "Are You With Me" for an actual example, "Fade Out Lines" by The Avener kind of has a bit of country in it to me

Norah Jones. Especially her work with the Little Willies... which was nothing but country.

I think you could throw almost any Hot AC song onto country radio and it will fit. The genres are really blurred right now.

It's going back quite a ways, but I always thought "Houston," by Dean Martin had a country feel to it.

^ This is true. Examples like this recent song from Cher: Yeah, had that been someone else (Reba, Trisha, Martina, maybe Wynonna), it could have been a country single for sure. Great song.

The first time I heard Budapest by George Ezra was on a country station. A lot of his album sounds very country.

Country is much more pop-rock sounding nowadays... So many 80s songs of that style could pass like country now, me things Hit me with your best shot It's a heartache If I could turn back time Just like Jesse James How do I make you Alone Never Will you be there in the morning
In the 1990s, singer songwriter songs sound country-like to me, like those from first albums of Michelle Branch, Jewel, Sheryl Crow, Hootie and the Blowfish. Also Lisa Loeb's Stay, Pretenders' I'll stand by you. Even some Spin Doctors or Counting Crows or Gin Blossoms had some country vibe.
In terms of more recent efforts, certainly songs from first two albums of Mumford and Sons; Paris (Ooh la la); songs from Civil Wars
Among pop-oriented songs, Aloe Blacc's Wake Me Up; Madonna's Don't tell me and Love Spent.

"Million Reasons" by Lady Gaga
If any country artist released that to country radio, it would be an instant smash and awards contender.

And apparently Waylon agrees with me, given that he covered it.

The Carpenters- Home for the Holidays
This song is SOOOO country. I love The Carpenters and I'm convinced Karen was a country singer, singing pop. She would have been iconic as a country vocalist!

This one would obviously be just the lyrics but it occurred to me the other day that the new Maroon 5 single, "Don't Wanna Know", could easily be a country lyric.

Yellowcard's "View From Heaven".
Especially the acoustic version. The banjo + violin combo gives a big country vibe, IMO.

I could see Brett Eldredge or Billy Currington or one of those occasional bro-lite acts recording it (just looking over the lyrics it reminded me of songs like "Hey Girl" and "Drunk on Your Love," i.e.)... and it would be just as awful as it is in its present state.

But at least it wouldn't have Adam Levine's annoyingly high pitched honking on it. Seriously, does he suck down a gallon of helium and constantly get kicked in the nads every time he records his vocals?

Yeah the lyrics and song in general are less than to be desired but it's pretty catchy not going to lie. Not going to lie part 2, the lyrics are certainly relatable. Now that you mention it I can totally picture Brett Eldredge's voice on this song. Not so much Billy but I get what you're saying with bro-lite. Ten Pound Hammer LOL

This one always come to mind... The country station I used to listen to played this fairly regularly. I think it even made their top 20 countdown.

I've always felt like a lot of their songs, even though pop, had a nice "Country-ish" flair to them... this one, being cowritten and produced by Mutt Lange, is one of the most obvious.
