I always thought the same, I prefer using 45S xD
What exactly contributes to the On Demand chart? Because LMLYD is well ahead of Uptown Funk on Spotify..

I think we could announce 45S as an underperforming Rihanna single soon eh? I don't hate the song, I just thought it isn't really something that Rihanna should put out. If she want a ballad, the she could base it on Stay. I'm a sucker for piano ballads, tbh.

Yeah seriously, like what?
Russian Roulette underperformed, FourFiveSeconds is a success so far. Not everything has to hit #1 to be successful.

LMLYD is well ahead of Uptown Funk on Spotify.. I wouldn't really consider less than 10% to be "well ahead" on a side note, yay LMLYD will be top ten in airplay tomorrow :)

I don't think Rihanna was looking at 45S as a song that would smash though like We Found Love or Umbrella, she just wanted to release something different and creative. I'm sure she'll have a killer single for R8 soon, but 45S is doing pretty decently, I thought it would pull a Russian Roulette and sink on the charts fast.

I think what may happen is Ed could still probably sneak in a week once Mark's radio audience drops and his drops in little numbers as it's doing now. Remember John Legend's All of Me had peaked digitally and stream-wise but was still #1 on radio when it finally topped Billboard. So TOL could sneak a week at #1 on the Hot 100 if its radio audience remains huge enough. But that may be my wet dream. :)
But I think if not TOL, Sugar would likely be the next #1 song. It gained more audience numbers than Style and LMLYD. I think LMLYD's peak would be #3. FFS seems to have peaked on radio and its Spotify addition so late didn't help matters for it.
So I think TOL might still have a slight chance and Sugar will probably replace it. Style has a great radio audience but its digital sales have peaked and its streaming is smaller compared to Shake It Off and Blank Space so I don't think it has a chance. The next several weeks should be interesting.

Outside has begun decreasing on pop, but it jumped up to #9 today, so at least it should get one week in the top 10 (Sadly) Thinking Out Loud has gone #1 on pop, his first #1 on pop if I am correct (SING and Don't both went to #2, I think). Uptown Funk's decreases are pretty big, and 45S' increases are getting smaller (I presume #6 will be its peak). LMLYD should go to #7 on Tuesday. One Last Time got considerable gains today, jumping up to #14 If only its sales would pick up :( Worth It also had decent gains today, going to #40. Hopefully they'll finally get a single that does well :( On overall AI, LMLYD should go to #8 tomorrow Glad to see Heartbeat Song go top 30 ^_^

Uptown Funk! is just way too far ahead in airplay for Ed to be able to make up the sales and streaming difference any time soon. Sugar will probably pass TOL in a couple weeks from now and before TOL passes UF! (if the latter ever happens). I'm not even so sure about Sugar, given the bad luck Maroon 5 has had lately. I'd be really happy if Sugar did get that #1 though!

FourFiveSeconds is a hit, you can't deny it at this point; the song's stats, especially its chart placements worldwide, speak for themselves.
If you want to claim she sounds strained on certain parts of the song, it's not a banger, it isn't a good song, sounds like a demo, for a "comeback single" (whatever that is) it should be bigger, etc etc, that's beside the point. The song is a hit and still experiencing success, weak updates on Pop radio notwithstanding.

It is a hit but it is just a moderate hit: not as big as what I would expect from a Rihanna song.

I don't get how 45S is underperforming. #4 on iTunes and #7 on radio. Only been out 6(?) weeks. All it lacks is the viral video. (Please don't come for me lmao, just what I think)

(Please don't come for me lmao, just what I think) Basically one would expect more from Rihanna it's not even looking like it'll be as big as Stay. I don't even know if FFS will make the year-end top 20 this year. I am kinda stumped though that the video is underperforming so much especially since Kanye is funny as hell in it lol. Oh and btw it's technically #5 because Sugar is selling more than FFS when both versions are combined (in fact it's the closest one to UF! right now)

It is top 5, it is a hit. I know people expect every song with Rihanna's name to be #1 but that is never realistic

Ok let us put it this way and settle this: it cannot be argued against the fact that it is one of Rihanna's lesser hits out of them all It isn't a flop like What Now was but it's not exactly HUGE either. It is certainly NOT one of the most memorable songs of the decade so far.

It is certainly NOT one of the most memorable songs of the decade so far. When 45S was released, some people claimed it would flop, it's too risky, it wouldn't do anything, it's not a banger, it's weird, etc,,, but right now, when it's clearly a hit, a top 5 US hit! Not only just a top 20 or top 40 hit, and hit top 10s worldwide, some people still consider it a flop? Poor Rihanna, because her huge success specially single-wise, starting from now people will expect too high for her, no number one = flop. This situation reminds me of Mariah in early 2000s.

FFS seems like peaked on radio. #4 will be its peak position I guess.

All I said was that it is not one of Rihanna's bigger hits; is that not the case? well, what you said was: Ok let us put it this way and settle this: it cannot be argued against the fact that it is one of Rihanna's lesser hits out of them all It isn't a flop like What Now was but it's not exactly HUGE either. It is certainly NOT one of the most memorable songs of the decade so far. if we were talking about her lead singles, you'd be right - only one of her lead singles ("Russian Roulette") performed worse than F5S. but since you said "out of them all", that's actually not true - she's had more singles that performed worse than 45S than she's had singles that performed better (as a lead artist, on the Hot 100.) Rihanna's had 13 singles peak higher than No. 4: 1.) "Pon De Replay" [No. 2] 2.) “SOS” [No. 1] 3.) “Umbrella” [No. 1] 4.) “Don’t Stop The Music” [No. 3] 5.) “Take A Bow” [No. 1] 6.) “Disturbia” [No. 1] 7.) “Rude Boy” [No. 1] 8.) “Only Girl (In The World)” [No. 1] 9.) “What’s My Name?” [No. 1] 10.) “S&M” [No. 1] 11.) “We Found Love” [No. 1] 12.) “Diamonds” [No. 1] 13.) “Stay” [No. 3]
Rihanna's had 20 singles peak lower than No. 4: 1.) “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want” [No. 36] 2.) “Unfaithful” [No. 6] 3.) “We Ride” [Failed to Chart] 4.) “Break It Off” [No. 9] 5.) “Shut Up And Drive” [No. 15] 6.) “Hate That I Love You” [No. 7] 7.) “Rehab” [No. 18] 8.) “Russian Roulette” [No. 9] 9.) “Hard” [No. 8] 10.) “Rockstar 101” [No. 64] 11.) “California King Bed” [No. 37] 12.) “Man Down” [No. 59] 13.) “Cheers (Drink To That)” [No. 7] 14.) “You Da One” [No. 14] 15.) “Talk That Talk” [No. 31] 16.) “Birthday Cake” [No. 24] 17.) “Where Have You Been” [No. 5] 18.) “Pour It Up” [No. 19] 19.) “Right Now” [No. 50] 20.) “What Now” [No. 25] (I excluded “Loveeeeeee Song”, since I don’t think that received any kind of official push as a single)so, out of them all, F5S is actually one of her better performing singles. I left out her featured appearances for the sake of space, but the story would be the same if I included them all.

I'm so sorry for even starting the whole Rihanna thing. Lack of sleep really make me spout out stuff before thinking...

All I said was that it is not one of Rihanna's bigger hits; is that not the case? You said it's one of her "lesser" hits. Don't twist it now!

It is one of her "bigger" hits as less than half have gone top five.
It is one of her "lesser" hits because most of her hits have charted higher than #4.
Which one is true?
