Thanks to the version with John Legend on it, Lay Me Down will get a big increase in sales (and perhaps airplay and streaming too). Do you guys think there's a chance it will be in the top ten next week? A small chance but a chance none the less. It depends on streaming/sales. Where is it on Spotify? It's #13 on the most recent daily update on Spotify lol

Let's do this!-I Don't Mind hits a new peak of #11, but not with a bullet? Apparently, its consistency is enough to beat out Lips are Movin' which has taken a 11-13 drop. -Trap Queen, as expected, moves up 16-12 due to a consistent sales week. -The top debut this week is All Day by *takes a deep breath* Kanye West Featuring Theophilus London, Allan Kingdom & Paul McCartney at #15. A #6 sales debut is apparently most attributable. -2 new movers into the top 20: GDFR in a 23-16 move, and Somebody gaining 24-19. The latter is making quite some radio gains to compensate for its now normal price. -This all means Only gets booted 18-23, Jealous lets go 20-28, and I Want You to Know falls (but remains in the hit zone) 17-38. -As expected, Heartbeat Song moves to a new peak 37-21. The top 30 is actually pretty active this week, with Chains moving in 34-25, One Last Time blasting 30-22, and Blessings being blessed against the album effect by moving in 36-30. -Newly hits are pop-rock newcomers WALK THE MOON with Shut Up + Dance (43-36) and Calvin Harris' second Ellie collab Outside (42-39). They kick Chandelier (38-41) and No Type (39-43) off. In addition, because of the debut, Energy falls 40-51. -That grat song from Empire, Conqueror, that had Mark G. worried a bit did at least have a notable sales-based debut, all the way at #42. In addition, because of the album/show hype, the debut from last week, You're So Beautiful, climbs 71-47. -Homegrown, off the hype for JEKYLL+HYDE, hits a new peak of #46. Could this prove to be an actual hit after Sweet Annie missed in 2014? -Quite a few notable debuts: I Really Like You enters at a decent #48. The question now is whether the video can provide traction to this week's lagging sales. -Off the top 50 this week are Bang Bang (50-X, recurrent), Glory (49-X), I Bet My Life (47-59), and CoCo (45-55), along with the previously mentioned Energy. -A few odd deep cut recoveries: Know Yourself actually repeaks 75-65, Throw Sum Mo climbs 72-64, Immortals actually grows 76-72, and The Hanging Tree bullets 81-70. -New Romantics makes a better debut than last week's You Are in Love, landing at #71. -Coming back this week are Honey, I'm Good at a new peak of #87, primarily due to admirable sales, Worth It at #92, which I believe is officially being pushed at the next single, and I Bet at #95, building streams from the video. -New this week aside from the bunch previously mentioned are Don't It (#91), Adore (#93), She Don't Love You (#94), Monster (#96), and Where Are You Now (#97). -Gone aside from the previously mentioned are No Tellin' (100-X), Paradise (99-X), One Man Can Change the World (97-X), Only One (92-X), Stuck on a Feeling (88-X), You Are in Love (83-X), All Your Fault (80-X), Often (68-X, recurrent), First Kiss (66-X), and Drinking Class (60-X, recurrent). -Set to go next week are Try Me (96-99), Talladega (86-90), and Sun Daze (69-81).

Don't understand the reception to "Sugar", like, at all. lol Justice for Birthday... :'( If M5 goes number 1, will it count with Onika on the track? Probably. They counted Britney on S&M when it reached #1 Edit: just realized that if it does then it will be Nicki's first official Hot 100 #1 lol :O I just listened to the remix with her in it and I thought it was meh (she can do better than that). But if the song does become her first official #1 then I'll be happy for her anyhow. I'm just glad Anaconda wasn't her first #1 lol It would only count if the remix version accounts for more of the song's chart points than the original version. It will not. Was that really the case with S&M though? Yes surprisingly the remix outsold the original I believe by 47% or something. Britney not even blowing her stuffy nose prior to recording the song and it still send it to the top...her impact. 1955 - present Longest Running #1 hits 16 weeks 1995 ONE SWEET DAY MARIAH CAREY/BOYZ II MEN 14 weeks 1992 I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU WHITEY HOUSTON 1994 I'LL MAKE LOVE TO YOU BOYZ II MEN 1996 MACARENA(BAYSIDE BOYS MIX) LOS DEL RIO 2005 WE BELONG TOGETHER MARIAH CAREY 2009 I GOTTA FEELING BLACK EYED PEAS 13 weeks 1992 END OF THE ROAD BOYZ II MEN 1998 THE BOY IS MINE BRANDY & MONICA 12 weeks 1999 SMOOTH SANTANA FEATURING ROB THOMAS 2004 YEAH! That's the only issue with songs that smash at the end of the year...the competition is so low 1st quarter that almost by default songs can secure more weeks at #1.

And we can now add Ed Sheeran to the longest running #2s Most weeks at number two (without hitting number one)

Your list doesn't match the one posted before yours the list included in the Billboard article is for pairs of songs that shared the Top 2 spots for the most weeks - not the longest-running No. 2 hits (since No. 2 hits may have been blocked by more than one No. 1 hit.)

So does anyone have the list of songs that spent 7 weeks at #2, regardless of who was #1?

Hate to break it to you but the number one on iTunes right now is actually Sugar, with the remix and second version included it is at 1.1213 of the number one song...also for the same reason Uptown Funk is ahead of LMLYD and Lay Me Down Combined iTunes: 1. Sugar (1.1213)2. Lay Me Down (1.0879) 3. Believe (1.0000) 4. Uptown Funk! (0.9416) 5. Love Me Like You Do (0.8785) This remix was actually a VERY smart strategy on Maroon 5's part; clearly it's helping the song's sales (and presumably its streaming too) and the timing on it is PERFECT since Uptown Funk is now seeing across-the-board decreases (and despite strong airplay, streaming, and still pretty strong sales I predict that 4/4 will be its last week at #1) so since RIGHT NOW is the time that they're getting their boost, it could be what gets them their first #1 on the Hot 100 (and on Digital Songs) since 2012.
At first I would very doubtful of Sugar getting to #1 because I didn't foresee the success of a remix of the song featuring a relevant female rapper but now I strongly believe that Sugar will be the next #1 on the Hot 100 (and I predict 4/11 will be the week it does it)! I'm really hopeful!
And I know this is bad news for you, Dylan sorry!Oops I actually made a calculation error. Sugar was actually at 1.0213 not 1.1213 so luckily for Dylan :) Sugar is not actually #1...yet I hope it will be soon enough though...I haven't heard the John Legend version of LMD but I do not really like the original After all this , Uptown Funk right back at # 1... Sugar at # 5,,,Uptown isn't going anywhere soon from that #1 spot.
