Current iTunes: single #197, album #428. Things not looking that great after a good start. Needs TV promo. I was looking at the WWFM thread and just for some perspective. Z100 added WWFM Nov 18, 2009 Official Adds date Nov 24, 2009 WWFM got: 21 top40 10 HAC 7 Canada-HAC Nov 29th POP: 92 66 ADAM LAMBERT Whataya Want From Me 237 50 187 3.587 +67 Spins +112 Bullet +0.122 AI HAC: 91 65 ADAM LAMBERT Whataya Want From Me 80 29 51 1.170 +4 Spins +2 Bullet +0.027 AI Dec 7th (3 weeks) POP: 62 50 ADAM LAMBERT Whataya Want From Me 524 265 259 5.769 +39 Spins +11 Bullet +0.415 AI HAC: 63 51 ADAM LAMBERT Whataya Want From Me 158 84 74 1.301 +22 Spins +18 Bullet +0.033 AI WWFM: #182 on iTunes Ghost Town is already starting better at radio then any of Adam's previous singles. As someone said above WWFM debut with 11K. It's iTune position was #182. At this point album iTune position is also irrelevant until radio plays the song more. WWFM went on to sell double platinum. Top #10BB and earn him a Grammy nomination. I think it's way too soon to keep coming here being a doom flapper. Can we please leave other Idols out of Adam's discussions. ETA: Adam has been doing radio promo all this week and next. Today he was at Wang Tango giving interviews. They are concentrating on radio right now.

Radio promo is what failed in the first era. He was hot after Idol, and they expected that radio jumped on his songs, something that it didn't happen.
The second era promo was a disaster, so he is doing now what it he needed to do 5 years ago. In the long term, if radio plays his songs, he will get a lot more chances of a long career

As expected it wasn not a good update. Tomorrow thing should start to change and going positive again Apparently Ryan played enough of the song last week during AT40 for those spins to be counted and so this weekend, it lost all those 100+ AT40 spins and thus these updates.

I supposed that. The song gave a big jump last weekend.

It got through the AT40 situation better than expected...Z100 has been playing this about 4 times a week during the 9pm countdown or the 10 pm hour. Had it as a hot pick on all access. Hopefully it adds it to the play list at some point. Supposedly he is coming east next week for radio promo. Sounds great on radio

I have to say that I'm surprised with the lack of radio play at this time. There is certainly time to turn this into a hit but I thought the new label would have guns blazing when it hit radio. At least initially, I guess I was wrong.

GT is breaking through the top 40. That's a major achievement for him and should mean that it will get more radio play.

GT is moving faster at radio than any song Adam has ever released so I'm not sure why people are thinking it isn't moving.

It achieved +135 spins last week, which is solid and only has Major Laser closing it down from lower down at the mo. Next week will be interesting.
The main issue for me will be what sales it achieves, because I think this will mainly get spun after 8pm given the deep house vibe. Was still a strange choice for 1st single I reckon.

Was still a strange choice for 1st single I reckon. I think there are likely stronger songs on the album but Ghost Town was likely chosen for being the safest lyrics wise. During IIHY run, I remember some stations in the more conservative areas of the US actually admitted they had to drop or reduce the song's rotation due to listeners calling in complaining about him singing that to a guy.. and I guess WBR didn't want to repeat that. Anyways, I hope his song with Tove Lo is picked for single no. 2 after Ghost Town. Top 40 hopefully tomorrow

At least initially, I guess I was wrong. This song is off to a better start at radio than any of his prior singles...and big stations in big markets that didn't touch his stuff last era like z100, kiis, the san fran pop stations, are playing it....he has basically been gone from radio for more than 5 years...he wasn't going to get an hourly deal, and doesn't qualify for on the verge...so the song wasn't going to blast into the top 30 right off the bat...compared with his past singles it appears that his new label is doing a pretty great job at radio for him

Top 40 hopefully tomorrow I can't imagine that this still would be an issue 5 years later, especially after Sam Smith has had a few big hits in which he was clearly singing about and to a guy

Adam feels like a bigger star than what his radio presence has shown due to his Image and the media. That's why I think some posters are surprised when his songs don't fly up the charts.

I heard this song twice today on my HotAC station. I think it sounds great on the radio. I'm still thinking this will be a hit. Maybe they are just holding back on radio a tad until closer to album release time. Mid-June, right?

Bullet of 90? Okay...what are your expections, guys? I hope they are realistic. This will be lucky to break the top 20 at this point.

Bullet of 90? Okay...what are your expections, guys? I hope they are realistic. This will be lucky to break the top 20 at this point. Sorry but most of you are reading this all wrong. The bullet would be important if this was a Rihanna or a Britney song, Adam didn't have a hit on radio for five years so it's not like any of his songs are going to explode out of the gate, this could go either way, it could explode at some point and being a big hit or it could die before going even top 30, it's impossible to know. He didn't make much promo, so it's impossible to know how sales are going to be affected when he'll do. If last week updates tell us something, he should start to get better updates today, tomorrow and monday, and the bullet should be back to a better number. And frankly, i think it's a good thing the song is climbing slowly on radio (as long as it don't stall or receive negative updates), we have several examples of songs (Stuck on a feeling, Goodbye, Nobody love) that label push them on radio but by the time sales went up the song was over on the radio. That's the reason i'm not worried for this (or for King) right now
