Well, after hearing Rihanna's new single, I think it's safe to say it won't be usurping UF anytime soon. I say it eventually makes it to 14-15 weeks.

If this awesome video of Shut up And Dance goes viral, it definitely could jump to #1… youtu.be/kVJu9AMJJr4

Video is almost a month old and is simply a lazy mash-up of various old movies w/ stars simply dancing to the song lol. Don't 'think' that's gonna quite cut it ;).

I havent heard Rihannas new song yet buf if its not that good, what could prevent UF from getting more than 15+ weeks? There's also Earned It which is gaining fast at airplay and sales (and some viral video could also boost streaming a good bit). It is possible for it to overtake UF on 5/1 (which would be Uptown Funk!'s 16th week) it continues. Those are the biggest airplay gains for an urban/rhythmic-based song that I have seen in a long time! I guess the last time was Happy a year ago (though even that one and Blurred Lines are more pop-inclined than Earned It to me so possibly the biggest in years!) Love the SUAD movie dance compilation btw!

I think Uptown Funk is great but I just can't picture One Sweet Day not holding the record. It's hard for me to comprehend.

Kworb pop bars haven't been updated in more than 6 hours...I must know how close Rihanna's song is to #1 on iTunes!

I'm surprised I actually like SUAD, not my usual taste of music. I think for my summer mashup this year I will use it as the base instrumental (mixed with Octahate, IWYTK and GDFR) // not that anyone cares lol //
Hopefully Bright will have a big re entrance this week

Seriously though what is happening with Kworb's pop bars? They haven't been updated since this morning (and it's after 8pm here so that's a long time)...I'm so anxious to know :(

BBHMM doesn't show up in the iTunes chart on my phone or PC, and I doubt it's actually below the Top 200 right now. that said, it's really not a threat for UF, even if it was sitting at No. 1 on iTunes right now. just listen to it. I'm not saying it's "bad", it's just clearly not meant to be a multi-format mega-smash.

Oh I guess it must not be Kworb then, it must be iTunes itself that hasn't updated for such a long time...I checked other sources for pop bars and they're exactly the same...

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think you guys are underestimating BBHMM. Considering how well 45S is doing with such a meh response from fans, I don't see BBHMM flopping.

It probably will be a top ten hit. Just not a #1 after FourFiveSeconds didn't reach the top 3 (I think the response for BBHMM from will be even more meh than that of FFS, I think) so does anyone have any idea what's going on with iTunes or why it might be frozen? Maybe Rihanna broke the iTunes with her new single :kii:

Considering how well 45S is doing with such a meh response from fans, I don't see BBHMM flopping. lol Not saying/hinting ur 'crazy', but do u really think (I don't care HOW big the star is) that if this song- if it's as meh/separate but equal (to what Im reading/hearing) to FFS that she's actually gonna get MORE momentum/bigger hit for 'whatever' the reason? lol. ONLY reason (like every single mega diva/superstar) from whatever decade, scores a 'hit' equal to FFS *only cause of the previous track record, hits and momentum. Even w/ FFS she still has waay more smashes and consistency on her resume for radio and the GP to just suddenly drop her. It's ALL is about the name brand, star-power and 'comfort level' w/ such an established name. However, NO one is immune becoming radio and sales poison if there's enough consistency of stinker, bad/sub par songs..sorry. Name one person (re: of age, legacy and #1s/hits) who did not eventually have this happen to.

Yeah just listened to a part of BBHMM (Toronto rhythmic station FLOW 93.5) and to me it's even more meh than FFS. I'll be quite sad if it somehow manages to dethrone Uptown Funk. I won't be upset if it makes top ten though. As long as it's not what gets in the way of Uptown Funk breaking the record (if UF has the potential for breaking the record otherwise)

I don't think BBHMM is a guaranteed #1 by any means, but it sounds more like a typical Rihanna song than 45S, and that way outperformed my expectations. My point is don't count it out. (Also remember even We Found Love took 6 weeks to hit #1, so BBHMM could eventually hit #1 and UF coukd still break records.)

So pop bars have just been updated Rihanna's song has Uptown Funk at 0.4700 (0.5255 when both versions of UF are combined)...if it keeps it up it might be #1 in sales this week despite becoming available on Thursday...has a song ever been #1 in sales for a week that it was only available 4 out of 7 days? Anyway, I think it is safe to say that Uptown Funk is getting a 13th week at #1 and will be the longest-running #1 of the decade so far

Sales of the new Rihanna won't be anywhere near the #1 position anyway for this week. Again bad timing, why they couldn't wait for couple more days to maximise the first week?

It started selling on Thursday, giving it half of the week. That means that it can still be #1 in sales if it sells more than twice as much as Uptown Funk! during this time.

In sales, but even that doesn't guarantee a top ten placing on Hot 100 (which a full week would have)
It already has a red update so I predict maybe 150k in these three days...?

Well I just heard BBHMM, I'm very confident that BBHMM>>>>>4FS. But Bruno is incredibly safe this and next mostly due to the awful release day of Thursday. Like who told Rihanna that Thursday would a good release day, like I don't understand lol. The only way I see this going number one is if it has an anaconda level of controversy.

I somehow doubt that Uptown Funk will be able to beat Mariah's record. I figure that either Earned It, Trap Queen, or Rihanna's new single will have dethroned it by then.
