kworb.net/cc/ OMG 477k copies for See You Again, if it comes true... Bye Uptown Funk But how? Going off the pop bar differences between it and UF that doesn't make sense unless UF has also had a big surge in sales this week? They list 120k projected for UF, so that should mean that SYA should be around 3.1-3.3x the sales going off the pop bar difference. So where are they coming up with that extra 100k+ in sales? Yes I can't understand it, and it says GDFR will sale more than Sugar -.- probably is a very early prediction.

While I would not mind seeing history made here, I also would not mind a single staying at #1 for JUST fifteen weeks. Same here. But it'll be nice to break the massive tie for second place. We need a change in the top 5.

I am surprised a discount/remix for UF isn't going into effect ASAP now. I find it hard to believe the label hasn't made any plans to try to go after the record or doesn't care about it. Or maybe they have a better insider look at how the chart will shape up next week and they know UF can hold it for at least one more week without any help. Then they do the discount/remix tactic next week perhaps to try and at least tie OSD.

It would be cool to see "Uptown Funk!" spend 15 weeks at #1 and bust out of that 7-way tie for all-time second place, but I also wouldn't mind "See You Again" exploding to #1 next week, then after sales and movie hype crash a bit see "Sugar" float to the top for a week after that, before being overtaken by "Earned It" the following week. Let's get some turnover before some sumer smash logs ten weeks on top! If SYA is a one week number one then crash type of song, I want UF to be the one returning to the top. 14 weeks would be sooooo underwhelming after it looked like it would at least be the second song ever to break the 15 barrier. same here. Being in the top 2 is waaay better than being in the top 8. Anyway, UF just got a green update and SYA got a light red update on iTunes just now...don't want to get my hopes up for nothing but that does console me a little bit. I still have hope! Not really hoping for even record tying here so as long as UF gets just one more week I'll be a happy camper.

Well let me clear the air once and for all: I am rooting for Uptown Funk to break the record, but I won't be devastated if it doesn't (bar some unfair 30-second Harlem Shake bulls**t). In any case, the song has done very well and will quite likely become only the second song to get at least 15 weeks at #1 which is a great achievement in its own. May the best song win. What I'm more worried about is that Digital Songs record and reaching #1 on UAC LOL! With those I will be upset if it doesn't happen because it is sooooo close and IMO deserves it. Just checking in on this post

Side note: with all this commotion about UF, has anyone else noticed that Jason Derulo's song was taken off iTunes? I thought it was because of album release but it has been off of iTunes for quite some time...does anyone know what's going on with the song?

VERY exciting week here. Predictions and theories are all OVER the place! lol. One second my gut is telling me SYA positively has this next week and that UF may even get knocked down to #3 (losing out to Sugar). Yet a second later I'm thinking 'what if' RCA is truly *fully aware of where things stand, do care (contrary to what others think here) and have something lined up and will do it at the 'right time'. I'm still going w/ my first gut feeling that every indicator is SYA zooms to #1 next and there's a very, very good chance (since Sugar isn't at all free falling like UF is now) that it holds onto #2. Again, it's only Wed. W/ a full 4 days left (wkd included) if Sugar keeps gaining and UF just continues to plummet esp w/ airplay and streaming, 4getting about SYA, I'm thinking Sugar may pull ahead of UF even if by a super slim margin.

There has not been even a millisecond that I have enjoyed 'Uptown Funk'. At least 'One Sweet Day' has some meaning behind it, however bland of a song it might be.

Also do most people realize that the 168k sales SYA got..*majority were only for like 2-3 days max! The week is almost 1/2 over and its basically been constantly green since SUN!

Even if I hated the song, I would still be excited about it potentially breaking a 20 year old record. The fact that I like it makes it even easier to root for, but it's exciting to me either way. The only way I would be mad is if it were something like a streaming only hit that did it like Harlem Shake. I hate those hits because they're so fleeting and the Hot 100 is made up of 3 component charts. To have something be #1 and not make a dent on 2 of the 3 seems like a fluke #1 to me. And I know some don't agree with me, but that's my opinion.

As for this particular record, no song should be #1 for this long. It's just too long.

With those numbers for Sugar, I actually think next week's fight for #1 could be between it and See You Again. I think UF will fall to #3 next week.

Sugar is not a competitor next week. The gap is still very large. UF leads Sugar by 11% in sales, 14% in AirPlay, and a whopping 50% in streaming.
I think UF still has a very good chance of 1-3 more weeks at #1.
SYA I think may end up performing like Problem did.

UF could very likely fall behind Sugar in sales and airplay by next week. That leaves streaming- and Sugar at least has a live performance from this week already.
I think UF has a very, very slim chance to remain #1.

Don't look now, but SYA just got a second red and this time UF got a dark green on iTunes. Don't want to say it too soon, but there just might be saving grace for UF. Just one more week at #1 for 15 total and I'll be happy. I'll also be happy for Sugar to get #1. I really feel Maroon 5 deserves it after Animals fell short.

To be honest even though I personally dont care for SYA but def don't think its bland. Just not the kind of song/sound that appeals to me but overall, I think it's a more heartfelt, soulful, universal song than OSD. Objectively it's a lovely, melodic song w/ different layers and at least hits a nerve which OSD didnt do for me but, still, just not my cuppa tea. They basically have the same depressing theme! lol :/ . Summer is coming and just think this 'kind' of song is not really what people wanna be hearing lol. 2013 had the best summer songs (Get Lucky, BL, Treasure, Safe and Sound etc..) all fun, upbeat, amazing songs. It's all personal opinion far as what kind of song one 'connects' with the most. I'd love another retro, funky, catchy, group of songs to dominate this summer. Summer songs of 2014 were meh/crap vs. the summer before.

Wait the article said that only Fancy spent more time atop Streaming Songs...didn't Wrecking Ball do it too? It also got 13 weeks iirc. Billboard mistake?

But...dont get too excited- Wiz is performing on the Voice tomm lol. Even w/out The Voice still think wherever it ended up would be the same. If things were super close w/ sales then the performance would prob. matter. Dont think thats the case here ;) lol

At this point I'm totally a solid 50/50 with you w/ your prediction though at x leaning towards 60/40. I really dont think anyone knows what the hell is gonna happen lol. I know some are insisting Sugar is too far behind but that was last week. This week its still gaining overall while UF really isn't anywhere noteworthy. I think if it was 2-3 weeks ago, the 'Problem' scenario would be more likely. Again, I'm just sitting back and enjoy watching some of the true chart experts have their say. Like I said before, this is by far the most suspenseful chart weeks in recent memory (def. one of, if not the biggest of the decade)!

Isn't Bad Robot one of the 'major' renowned chart experts on here? He sounds pretty confident about UF being #1 for at least another week. Wow lol. Wish there was a 'chart' lol graph or whatever showing who has the best track record of predictions over the months/years on here. Dunno..maybe there is one and I'm just not aware of it. ;)

I really don't get why some of you are saying UF could end this week with fewer points than Sugar. It's sales are lower, it's AirPlay won't catch up by the end of the week, and it's streaming is lower. If UF isn't #1 next week, it will be #2.

Today is the first day of AirPlay tracking, so it's quite possible for Sugar to be #1 in AirPlay next week is UF has 2 million + losses and Sugar has small increases. It has seven days to get there. And, it's sales points (according to Kworbs site) have been slightly higher than UF so far this week.
