I'm hoping UF can break the record just cuz I'd rather a song I like hold the record, and it'd be fun to watch happen. But that means 3 more threads of reading this mess.

Lol at See You Again resuming dark green updates...I totally understand Friday night and Saturday night but since when does such a large number of people go to the movies on a weeknight Sunday night? Unless it's somehow getting big gains for other reasons? It got dark reds in the afternoon then resurged in the evening. Just curious

The movie is a hit. 145 million or thereabouts domestically. For many, it is an extended holiday weekend.
Maybe that should get a special color? ;)

Or the movie is a smash. The song could be around a while.

I bet even Wiz Khalifa hasn't seen this much green in one place before. His paychecks are bigger than mine and probably bigger than yours. It is safe to say, he has seen more green in one place than we have.

I love the airplay gains "Earned It" has been seeing. Love the song. But I feel like sales may be weakening now...I'm starting to have second thoughts about whether or not it will be the one to dethrone Uptown Funk :( still hoping it does though. I would love to see The Weeknd make it to #1 with his first big solo hit in the USA!

-Records are made to be broken. If they stayed the same forever, nothing would be fun. Exactly my point! Mariah fans should realize that the fact that OSD held the record for more than 19 years is still an amazing achievement! Can you please stop with the whole Mariah fans should realize...blah blah blah. I find it funny that hardly any actual Mariah fans are on this thread talking about this. You, ss8 and others have been on this same crap since Week 10...constantly talking about the same thing over and over, creating all these scenarios and outcomes spilling fortune cookie fortunes. Stop making it about Mariah fans being in some sort of turmoil when that's not the case. Do you even sleep? Have you left your house and smelled fresh clean air?

The reason I, ss8, etc have been mentioning it is that Mariah fans (and clearly you are one yourself) on this thread have been making it seem like it's the end of the world if God forbid Uptown Funk breaks the record that she held since the last century. It's really not tbh. Idk about you but no hate was intended on our part. Tbh, while I would be happy to see Uptown Funk break the record because a) I love the song and b) it would be interesting to watch, at the end of the day I don't care if it breaks the record or not so by all means for all I care keep that damn record if it means that much to you. Just please don't start another brawl on here. That's all I ask of you. I've had enough of it already. And yes I do, in fact, I just came back from outside.

Looks like Taylor Swift is releasing a Bad Blood remix in May. If nothing is able to dethrone UF by then, this remix most likely will

He might be right You have made it clear to all that Uptown Funk should get the record and nothing should stand in its way. (In similar fashion, we all know how you feel about Dark Horse vs Happy - LOL ) There is one poster in particular that has been pretty successful in hammering home to all that Mariah should be saved. You appear to be doing the opposite. True, some have made comments in passing to the Mariah record but it is a small minority that appear to be making the most noise.

Yeah but it was pretty close to #1 before and has decreased since then...and in any case just being top ten in sales without very strong airplay and even stronger streaming (and EI doesn't seem to have the latter) would not be enough to dethrone UF which continues to have monstrous airplay and streaming.

Can you please stop with the whole Mariah fans should realize...blah blah blah. I find it funny that hardly any actual Mariah fans are on this thread talking about this. This happens all the time on this board when Mariah releases a new album, single, or has a record broken. You have one person comment about fan meltdowns (that aren't actually happening or are in response to a single post by one member), and then you end up with people responding to that comment believing that's actually what's happening (on previous pages they didn't read) and then before you know it, you have this snowball effect that would lead everyone to believe there's a collective meltdown to end all meltdowns. I saw one post in this entire thread that seemed to come anywhere close to what could be considered Mariah fans losing their shit over the loss of the record, where a poster I've never even seen before asked people to buy other #1 contenders so "Uptown Funk" doesn't break the "One Sweet Day" record. The drama is nonexistent.

What is the next legitimate contender for No. 1? Whatever it is, please buy it and/or stream it over and over again so it dethrones Uptown Funk as soon as possible. I don't want UF to end up breaking the record and continuing to dominate the charts like Christian Grey dominating Anastasia Steele.

I don't want UF to break the record but no way in hell am I going to try to tamper with it by streaming/buying other songs multiple times. If it happens, it's because it deserved to happen.

One person can't legitamately do it anyway. Even if they could, is it really a popularity chart if it is manipulated into being #1 by one person.

LOL @ that thought of anyone rooting for "Uptown Funk" to fall from #1 is automatically called a "Mariah stan." Maybe we're just a fan of higher turnover? Or a fan of one of the new contenders? Or just think the song is shit?

I know that one person alone can't tamper with the charts (except for the "All of Me/Happy/Problem" debacle of last year), but a bunch of people working together can. So, I am asking EVERYONE on this forum to do everything in their power to make sure Uptown Funk never gets to 16 weeks. Otherwise, Mariah will be very sad. Is this what you want?

Or just think the song is s**t? I'm a huge Mariah fan, yet I will give no fucks if "Uptown Funk" beats OSD's record. Clearly, 99% of people have forgotten about this, especially among actual classics like Fantasy, Honey, & ABMB. Records are made to be broken, and she held for 20 years. Both deserve major props, enough said.

Maybe someone should create a contract (like the FSOG one) that we all can sign, except instead of BDSM, the goal is to prevent "Uptown Funk" from breaking the record, no matter what we have to do. Sign the contract, please.

okay but does this all really matter in life lmao Yes, it does. And if you don't give a shit about this, you probably shouldn't even be posting on here. If Anastasia didn't give a shit about Christian Grey, would she have kept coming back to him? I rest my case, shithead.
