Never expected this collaboration to occur in the slightest, so I will admit I'm shocked. I listened to the snippet a few times, and it is already stuck in my head, it's extremely catchy. Can't wait for the full-length version to slay me!

Instant hotness. Clean Bandit have a 50/50 track record for me and Marina's never been my thing, but beat, melody, and hook have all firmly seeped into my head after one listen. This is just good.

I tend to dislike most funk influenced music, but I totally agree in this case. It's perfectly measured here and just adds a sense of summer fun to the song a la Janet's "And On And On" way back in the day? (Like am I the only one hearing that song here?)

Looks like this is finally coming.

That said, the upcoming UK release schedule and the new music section from Capital FM are reporting that it will be released on October 16. I have to be honest that I was intrigued of this date because I first saw it on Josep's website and I usually take with a grain of salt any release date he posts there. I mean, he mentioned that this track was going to be premiered (FYI, no radio station was written) on August 28 and, well... it didn't happen and he posted later that 'it was pushed back because of unknown reasons'. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, there's still no official information from Clean Bandit and/or Marina and the Diamonds, so I guess that if nothing is announced (re: a premiere date), they could be planning to pull an OA/OS release with the track.

Clean Bandit confirm Marina & The Diamonds will appear on their new album
We may finally hear the studio version of a track two years in the making.

Clean Bandit surprised fans back in 2015 when they performed an unreleased song with Marina & The Diamonds at Coachella Festival. But what has happened to that popular track?

Grace, Jack and Luke - who are currently Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart - have now discussed the status of their Marina hook-up, which is called Disconnect. Luckily for fans of the live version of the song, there are big plans for it in the future.

When asked by Idolator if the unreleased project will feature on their second studio album, band member Grace Chatto confirmed some good news: "Yeah, yeah. That is a really special song for us.

"We performed it live at Coachella we’ve been trying out different directions for the production. Now we’re kind of thinking we might go back to the original, so there was no need for anyone to wait two years!"

Jack elaborated on a potential timeline for the song: "It’s like maybe 30 different versions of it on my laptop. I think we’ve finished one, actually - I was working on it on the way [to New York] on the plane, so I think we’re going to have a nice surprise for them soon."

Alongside Disconnect, Clean Bandit's current chart topper Rockabye is expected to feature on their new album too. In addition their Anne-Marie and Sean Paul collaboration, the trio's single Tears with Louisa Johnson is also predicted to be on the LP.

OfficialCharts.com recently caught up with Clean Bandit to celebrate the band's chart topping success.

The only reason I could think about this is that they intended to release the track that year, but they opted to not do that. As a side note, it reminds me when Foster the People released "Ruby" in 2015 in all platforms, but the release date was 2011 instead.
