Ever since I started following years ago I've always appreciated her so much for taking her time to come and chat with us regularly saying what's on her mind, love waking up and reading all her replies, getting annoyed cuz I missed her online and she always spills tea eventually!! can't wait for more updates on the new music since that's what I'm here for at the end of the day & she knows how to get me hyped

Well, I'll give her two things. 1. It's pretty cool that answers as many of her fans' tweets and questions as possible and 2. It's pretty cool to see her pay respects to Lil' Kim after Nicki's disrespectful ass dissed her at the BET Awards.

Which is exactly why she needs to stay on Twitter and be active with her fanbase, the ones that still (if you want to be ~~shady~~) care about what she has to say will realize she's no moron at all in due course. She'll always be outspoken and people will either get used to it or stop caring about her altogether (even if she's been threatened with that for months now and everyone's still overreacting to every little thing she says) so it's whatever.

And, other than the obvious, one of the reasons I'm so glad she's focusing on solo material to release and promote on her own as well this time around again is the fact that whether it becomes a success or not all these other fanbases will hopefully hop off

I want more Work, Rolex, Don't Need Y'all, Walk The Line type songs. I'm glad she ditched what she was working on, Fancy was great but trying to recreate that will just bring on more hate. Beg For It proved that formula only worked great once, sorta twice if you count Black Widow.

Work perfectly walks the line (no pun intended) between a smash and depth for her. I'm not saying she should rehash it but I think that should be the starting point for the 2nd album and not the pop-chorus-assisted hits eventhough I love all of them. Beg For It is indeed a kickass song and had it been released before Fancy it'd be a monster hit too.

She did about four televised performances after SNL by herself (American Music Awards, one of the Jimmy's, New Years Eve, and People's Choice Awards) and the Jingle Ball Tour. The promo was great for "Beg For It", but don't forget, it was the cancelled video that killed it's potential on the charts.

The stage was still scorching from Kanye West's powerhouse performance Friday when Aussie rap sensation Iggy Azalea stepped into those mighty shoes to headline RBC Ottawa Bluesfest's Saturday night lineup.

And with legendary NYC MC Nas on the bill -- after Nas helped give Iggy her start by offering her an opening spot on one of her early introductions to the North American audience -- things had a feeling of coming full circle.

And while hip-hop ruled Friday's main stages, Saturday was all about the strange bedfellows made with rap and pop worlds colliding, with no example better than Iggy Azalea herself.

Appearing finally after a lengthy hype session courtesy of DJ Wizz-Kid, with the crowd chanting "I-G-G-Y" the reigning rap diva stepped out in a multi-coloured patchwork jumpsuit, backed by a DJ and a pair of backup singers, her cadre of dancers cavorting around her in matching blue cheerleader outfits.

By the time she rocked Beg For It, fans were doing just that.

"What's up Ottawa?" she screamed.

"Now you know I've been through a very interesting last couple of months, and this is the first time I've been on stage in awhile. And I want to let you know I appreciate you being here so much."

She showed just how appreciative with her rapid fire rhymes on Beatdown, and had the massive crowd dancing on the lawn, Iggy grinding her boot heels to the furious beat of Bounce.

Iggy Azalea was able to shut down the majority of her detractors with a solid mainstage performance in front of a huge crowd at RBC Ottawa Bluesfest on Saturday night.

Early in the show, the 25-year-old Australian rapper/model alluded to having had a rough time lately, presumably a veiled reference to a recent string of cancelled shows and poor ticket sales.

There was no such problem at Bluesfest, where she drew tens of thousands of fans, including, she noted, some from as far away as England. Better yet, she kept their attention with a colourful, lively show that was brimming with hits, including instant party-sparkers like Bounce, Trouble and Fancy. Perhaps the most serious criticism was that it was a bit short, clocking in at less than an hour.

“This is the first time I’ve been on stage in a while,” Azalea said, thanking the crowd early for showing up in such numbers. “I really, really appreciate you guys being here so much. I really do.”

In a multi-colour catsuit, the blond performer was accompanied by the dynamic DJ Wizz Kidd, as well as two backing vocalists and a team of six dancers, none of whom were there to pick up any slack. Azalea worked as hard as anyone on stage, unconcerned about breaking a sweat, messing up her hair or dealing with costume changes.

The booty-shaking choreography was just one element of Azalea’s charismatic stage presence. Her rhymes came in a rapid-fire barrage that showed her impeccable timing, while the production involved creative video images, sweeping lights and occasional onstage blasts of smoke.

In a quirky twist of programming, the influential rapper Nas effectively opened for Azalea with a hard-hitting set on the adjacent Claridge Stage.

After the pair toured together a couple of years ago (she opened for him), Azalea credited Nas for sharpening her live show. After all, as he demonstrated on Saturday, he is a master showman, and she learned her lessons well.
