I have been avoiding the hell out of this thread cause I thought this was all just discussion around something that would never happen (i.e. the languishing that was done in the "Sparks" thread), but oh my god this is top 50 again? That is incredible. Maybe all the rumblings about this album being so damn excellent are helping more than we know.

I was thinking about this yesterday after she only announced four tour dates: since her schedule (or what we know of it, at least) is open toward the end of the year, getting her on stations' Jingle Ball lineups might help secure some airplay - I would think a station would add those artists' singles into rotation to help ensure demand for their concert - and keep this moving through the holidays into a winter hit. /wishful thinking

Even Apple Music doesn't like Carly. The Pure Pop station never played this one and "I Really Like You". And that's a shame because the station does play stuff from smaller and on the verge artists. Prior to iTunes Radio getting incorporated into Apple Music, I did have two pop channels bookmarked: Pure Pop and Pop Hits. You couldn't program the former but on the latter station you could like or dislike songs as well as modify which artists you would like to hear more of. So I programmed the Pop Hits to play more of her. That worked well until the introduction of Apple Music, when they got rid of a host of channels and now there's only the one pop station.

I think we all knew the bullet was gonna decrease big this week because of its performance last week. But it's still gaining spins so I'm not worried. I'm honestly impressed with how well its bullet is sustaining. I honestly expected it to be a double digit bullet at this point. |
