Of course she will. She notched a couple smashes last era and she can easily replicate that again.

Why is there so much shouting in here?
I don't see why she wouldn't.

This question is so random, as if P!nk was on a downward spiral after her last album. Just Give Me a Reason is just about 2 years since it smashed Worldwide. All-in-all yes she will have another mega smash.

I think it's a legit question - P!nk turns 36 this year. Plus, I never hear songs from TTAL as recurrents on Pop, unlike the singles from IND, FH and GH were pretty much staples that bridged her eras. P!nk always puts out quality music, whether CHR will turn it into a 'monster,' is definitely not certain. Would I bet against it? Probably not unless it sounds like TL!

I should have stated in the first theread, but for those wondering; this is why I asked. Just wanted to see what everyone thought about the future of P!nk's career on Billboard, specifically the Hot 100. I don't doubt she could start scoring more hits on HOT AC though.

I'm sure. I just hope her next album is better as a whole than the last one. But I don't doubt that she'll have a hit single (or a few), at least.

frankly the fact that she's 36 is (sadly) the only thing that I could think of for a reason to answer negatively, so I went with yes

I'm expecting her next lead single to be her next huge hit.

Her last album was huge and had one of her biggest hits ever so there is nothing holding her back...except for that pesky age. I would also say that I think she is moving more toward hot ac type music? and that may end up hampering her a bit if they go boring with it. I think, at least, her lead single will be a hit though.

Love her, and yeah, she will.
ETA: Also, John Legend is 36 and is managing just fine, and Pink has had many more mainstream Pop hits than he has. I don't even buy the age thing to be an issue for her. She's a well-established name and has one of the most amazing voices in music today.

She's in between album cycles, and she still has a huge fanbase, I think Pink can stay relevant for at least a few more years, so yes, she's definately has some more hits left in her, which is good because she one of the few pop stars I actually respect.

Of course she will, as long as her materials remain solid, I could see her staying big in her 40s. It's not like age is really much of a problem. Sia is 40, and her carreer had just took off

And it's different for John Legend as well, since he's a man. Radio, the media, the general public are all more forgiving to men getting older than women.

I don't even buy the age thing to be an issue for her. This. Ageism only exists if people know the artist is old. I don't think people associate P!nk with being old like they do with someone like Madonna. For references, on iTunes, "Just Give Me a Reason" is #409, and "Try" is #1160. I don't have access to any gold charts, but over on pop, using the leaders and starters sections on AllAccess, we have this: Just Give Me a Reason 48 44 4 0.236 Raise Your Glass 17 12 5 0.091 Blow Me (One Last Kiss) 16 12 4 0.072 U + Ur Hand 13 11 2 0.062 There You Go 8 0 8 0.052 Who Knew 2 0 2 0.017 Trouble 2 0 2 0.008 Most Girls 2 0 2 0.006 Stupid Girls 2 0 2 0.006 Try 2 0 2 0.004 I can't find data for "Please Don't Leave Me" and "Funhouse" for some reason. Of course this isn't her exact airplay data, but it's the best I can get without a Mediabase password.

I hope she does, I miss her one-dimensional bops tbh. Her career is so weird because the second she's done pushing an album/promoting a tour, she vanishes from public consciousness. I have not heard anyone talk about Pink since her last big hit, but it always feels like that.
The only thing I could see potentially happening is what's happened to Kelly Clarkson where the potential to do well on Pop is still there but the artist doesn't really care to give the necessary push.

I hope yes!! Pink is like a fine wine, she gets better with age. Every time she releases new music, it's better than her previous stuff

Comparisons to relatively newer artists who are the same age or older than Pink don't really work since as much as people love to scream ageism, I argue that it's time in the spotlight that has a greater impact compared to the age of the artist. Pink emerged in 2000 and has been having hits ever since. She's already outlasted nearly all of her peers (with the obvious exceptions of Madonna, Britney and Beyonce, if you want to count her too) so even if she never has another hit again, she's fared pretty well.
I think it's an interesting question to ask though because while the obvious answer is yes based on her last era being one of her most successful as a whole, that doesn't mean her next will follow suit. I think if she follows the same formula she's had for the last 2 or 3 albums (one that I think is tired at this point), then she might struggle beyond the first hit. It really depends on how she approaches the music that ends up being the single. The landscape has changed.
I'd definitely pair her with Sia though.

Yes, I think she most definitely can. Her last few albums have been huge and she has appeal amongst many different age groups. She's still a staple on Pop and Hot/AC.
There was a time in 2006 when many thought she was done for good but then "U + Ur Hand" unexpectedly got a 2nd life at radio and went on to be one of her biggest hits and she made a huge comeback. "Funhouse" and "True Love" are her only recent underperformers and then prior to that, one has to look to the earlier and middle parts of her career for a couple of other underperformers. She has a pretty good track record.

Her career is so weird because the second she's done pushing an album/promoting a tour, she vanishes from public consciousness. I have not heard anyone talk about Pink since her last big hit, but it always feels like that. Yeah! For a 15 year veteran of the game who's been pumping out hits the whole time (minus the 2004-7 blip) Pink is remarkably understated as a public figure. She's always been out of sight, out of mind. It's incredible to me that she's been around since the heyday of Destiny's Child and Backstreet Boys and remains "current" now. She's always blended in with the pop climate of the time yet never really stood out. I think that's ultimately what fuels her longevity though- she was never a craze, never a fad, and will never be strictly associated with one passing period of pop culture or pop music. She molds herself from rhythmic pop to indie pop as she needs all while sitting comfortably within her little box.... and never steps out of it for extra attention. So no one's checking for Pink's age in the same way they analyze Britney's or Rihanna's or Katy's... she's just there. And as long as she safely delivers hook-ready pop tunes she'll continue to camouflage into the charts for her next era at the very least.

I'm skeptical. All her peers are struggling to stay relevant now, so I won't assume she's safe. I doubt she'll have another U.S. hit on the level of "So What" or "Just Give Me a Reason," but maybe something akin to "Try."
I hope I'm wrong though. She's a cool chick and capable of making some great music, so I certainly wish her success.
