Just listened to WINKIAW, and it is absolutely beautiful! <333333
I'm not going to listen to the previews, but I am certainly excited to hear this album based on everyone's descriptions/reviews!

Ahh, Billboard is pushing Carrie's new song WINKIAW with a nice write up. The only problem is their link sends you to Taylor's' Bad Blood video. How professional. Hey, they can make mistakes but on Carrie's release week? Weird. LMAOO.

The album's now in the top ten on iTunes, currently at #9. Really, really thrilled to see it doing so well in preorders. My hope is that some extra TV promo is announced soon, because it's unusually minimal this time around. She'll be in LA for Kimmel, so I'm not sure why there isn't a spot on Ellen or something booked already. Same as NYC -- GMA, Seth Meyers, Kelly & Michael, etc. Could the Ellen thing be a surprise? Just a few weeks ago a Carrie appearance on Ellen was all but confirmed through a commercial that advertised their October guests, and they listed Carrie among only a few names... Or perhaps Carrie felt a little too overwhelmed and decided to drop some appearances? But that doesn't sound like her at all... Either we're going to be surprised sometime next week, or they're going to announce an Ellen date very soon. I don't think she would do GMA because she's already doing Today --- do artists usually do both? But yeah, I'm a little underwhelmed too... Was hoping for The Talk, Kelly & Michael, and one more late night. Still not too late, though... They may come at us with a promo schedule next week via e-mail...

What's the last figure we had for Carrie Underwood's "How Great Thou Art?" Any chance of it going Gold? Of course, now that the ACM version is on her GH, she's splitting sales with the version that had been selling well.

Billboard finally fixed their link mistake on Twitter. Did they apologize? Of course not.

Billboard makes mistakes on a daily basis. This isn't a big deal.

Are they officially announcing the bonus tracks? Or is she maybe doing some kind of Target-sponsored concert? Hmmmm...

The "Storyteller" snippets sound excellent; I'm so intrigued that they all sound so different.
Carrie sounds so confident this era, unlike anything she's delivered before.
I'm most excited for Dirty Laundry, Church Bells and Choctaw County Affair, but if those clips are any indication, this will easily surpass "Carnvial Ride" as my favorite Carrie album.
The quality of the production and vocals seems to indicate this album is far above Carrie's past work, and I am so stoked. I feel like this is gonna be the album I've been waiting for from Carrie.
At first, I was a bit concerned with the quality of this album based on "Heartbeat" and "Smoke Break," but luckily those appear to be the weak links.
Friday can't come fast enough.

Has HITS released anything in regards to sales predictions? She'll obviously be getting #2 on the 200 behind 5 Seconds of Summer, but I'm thinking she'll still be able to pull, at least, a very manageable 150k.

Where does this certainty come from? Hard to imagine Carrie will open with anything less than 150k. I personally think 150k is conservative. I'm expecting 175k-200k, and hoping for anything over 200k...

Where does this certainty come from? 5SOS simply being in their prime + their absolutely monstrous global teenage fanbase + didn't they break some sort of preorder record for this upcoming album on iTunes or something? I'm feeling pretty certain that they'll be #1, but I'd be happy to eat crow if Storyteller ends up on top.

That would be sketchy to me anyway because some acts would have more pre-orders than others.

They use those + sales estimates, single release sales, radio and streaming data, promo lineups & pure buzz, etc. to build prediction numbers. Nothing new from every release.

Target seems to be hinting around on twitter at tour sponsorship. Maybe we'll be getting some acoustic song ( one of the 4 released so far) to go along with the tour announcement.

The Target thing could have something to do with the tour, too. Target could be sponsoring it... I know she said they were announcing the tour right around the album release. Tomorrow would be a pretty strategic time to make the announcement --- creating a TON of buzz through press releases and social media. It could be a combination of all the things listed: special "Target Sessions", official announcement of the bonus tracks, AND a tour announcement... Hmmm? Can't wait! Edit: DARN IT, you beat me to it! maddkat

Throughout the week, they update with adjustments and stuff.

HITS is usually in the ballpark with all of their predictions, but there are times where they're off. Throughout the week, they update with adjustments and stuff. With "Carnival Ride" their original estimates were somewhere in the 300k-400k range, but "Carnival Ride" ended up opening with 527k... That was one instance where they were WAY off, so their estimates must always be taken with a grain of salt. Usually, though, their estimates are pretty close.

Hasn't Carrie been ranking higher than 5SOS on those online pre-order sites?
