Imagine if, like Play On, the pre-release tracks are also the singles...but in that specific order... already pre-determined by the label... who doesn't care if Carrie said WINKIAW was too personal for her to sing live. Then all the bloody brilliant songs will remain album tracks. I shudder at the thought. Then, imagine Carrie getting a performance slot at the Grammys and singing Heartbeat again because it will still be climbing at country radio. Half-joking aside, it's really sad that I and majority of my favorite fellow Carrie stans have been so underwhelmed with the way this era has been going so far... and the kicker is Storyteller is one of her best, if not the best, albums! Just the thought of that happening, and reading Dudley's post about different producers getting singles treatment, were enough to depress me about this era lol. The singles last era were so on-point! (yes, eventhough there should have been five) I agree. There should have been five Blown Away singles. The fifth would have been charting when Carrie Underwood did The Sound Of Music TV special and her Sunday Night N.F.L. theme song. Blown Away would have gone over two million in sales.

Any info yet about Carrie's performance at the Sinatra tribute thing? I'm very anxious to find out what she's performing!

I don't really see why she didn't have the time to film a decent video. This was awful. It was beautiful, but so so so bad.

Apparently Carrie sang three times. She did a collaboration with Zac Brown and Seth MacFarlane. I don't know if this was in addition to STWOM and CFWM? Can we get some confirmation?

^ just judging by pictures it looks like she sang three times.I don't think Zac/Seth would have joined her on 'Come Fly with Me'. Hope they all air.But mostly 'Someone to Watch Over me' That carpool karaoke was so fun! also at the Dec 8 Opry Carrie will be doing a full half hour 8:30 - 9C first show 10-10:30 C second show

Three things:
1) Dudley gave me peace with the Heartbeat video. Still not her best, but I love the nymph look Carrie goes for and I adore the cute little dance at the end.
2) I love James Corden because of how comfortable he makes celebrities and I love his interactions with Carrie. They had a lot of chemistry! I hope she comes back again.
3) CFWM is a nice song but OMFG, STWOM (acronyms FTW) is a masterpiece. If she gets the full song... No joke I'll probably shed some tears.

I agree. They could have added some sort of story to it. I'm not a big fan of the song anyways, but a good video could have helped!

Her singing STWOM might just send me into an early grave. She's gonna destroy it.
Sounds like Storyteller will be retaking the #1 country album spot this week as Storyteller is supposed to sell 50k+ Get that Gold record Carrie!

Honestly, I can't even remember the last time I was this excited for a TV special. Frank Sinatra is one of my all time favorites, and the lineup they have is STACKED!

Praying they show all three of Carrie's performances! I don't think those wishes are going to come true. It's just a 2 hour show and with the all star line-up they have, I can't imagine Carrie getting 3 slots. I am sure they will wind up on-line though!

You're right, but it seems odd they'd rehearse and perform different songs if only one or two are going to be featured on the TV special. I'm willing to bet at least the collaboration and one of her solos will be shown, but all three would be a wonderful bonus! From what I read, Carrie is the only one who performed three times, so we'll see!

"Someone to Watch Over Me" will likely be aired, seeing as that's the one getting all of the great reviews.

She performed 3 times? Besides STWOM and CFWM, what else did she sing?

She performed 3 times? Besides STWOM and CFWM, what else did she sing? Some kind of collaboration with Seth Macfarlane and Zac Brown... At least the three were pictured together on stage. No one knows the third song, or even if there is one. But why else on Earth would those three be on stage together?

You know, I hope one day people recognize what a brilliant ambassador Carrie is for country music. I feel like the lack of CMAs and ACMs recently has been tougher to swallow because she constantly thanks country music when she wins industry awards... I just hope one day we get a tribute to Carrie from country artists because she really has done so much.

I feel like the lack of CMAs and ACMs recently has been tougher to swallow because she constantly thanks country music when she wins industry awards... I just hope one day we get a tribute to Carrie from country artists because she really has done so much. I think we will get to that point, eventually. I think Carrie will have a career trajectory similar to Reba. Carrie is a hard worker and I don't see her ever taking any extended hiatuses... I think she loves to work, and she doesn't know how else to live. Honestly, despite getting married and having a kid she hasn't stopped in 10 years, and she doesn't show any signs of wanting to. I think her "breaks" are when she's writing and recording and it seems to work well for her. I'm sure we'll get to a point when the breaks between albums will be quite long, but I don't think we'll ever go any longer than we already have without new music. If we do go without new music, I feel Carrie will fill those gaps doing other things. Whenever Reba wasn't releasing new music or touring, she was making movies, doing TV shows, on Broadway, launching fashion lines, etc. I feel that's the kind of stuff Carrie will do as she gets further into her career as well. I'm comparing Carrie to Reba because Reba herself isn't really a huge CMA/ACM award winner. Her 'Vocalist' and 'Entertainer' trophies are it, pretty much; there's quite a few - but Carrie and Reba have similar numbers when it comes to ACMs and CMAs. However, one would likely assume Reba is one of the winningest country singers of all time - judging by the following she still has as well as the legendary status she carries. In the end, I feel people will look at Carrie like we look at Reba now. Carrie's contributions will far outweigh any amount of trophies she could ever receive. I'm bitter as hell when it comes to the CMAs and ACMs under-rewarding Carrie, but I try to keep in mind Reba, Shania, Garth, Dolly, etc. we all under-rewarded as well, relatively. But no one really gives a s**t because they're Reba, Shania, Garth, and Dolly... Lol.

That the country regime does not, couldn't make them look more foolish and more suspect.

The line up for the Frank show is incredible. I hope they don't cut a thing, I'd be interested in seeing all those performances!
