Carrie's team is on point! RIAA.com: CARRIE UNDERWOOD STORYTELLER OCTOBER 23, 2015 DECEMBER 04, 2015 19 RECORDINGS LIMITED/ARISTA NASHVILLE STANDARD GOLD ALBUM SOLO Well, that was quick. They've always been on top of her certifications. It's a great selling point to have a Gold album with just a month's worth of sales. Go Carrie!

it used to be fairly common to have a gold album in the first month of release for example Paul McCartney & Wings Band On The Run was certified Gold for a million copies shipped in 3 weeks of release in December 1973 when Gold was a million copies

A lot of labels don't bother with them at all anymore.

^Not eligible. 412k or so in sales = 824,000. Not enough for Platinum.

Heads up! Obama is speaking tonight around 8 ET, so this will inevitably push back certain programs. I don't know if it will impact the Sinatra special, but you may want to add an hour or so if you're recording it, just to be sure.

This was what, her third or fourth year co-hosting the CMAs? It's great that they keep asking them back, but could this be the reason she never wins the big award?

It's such a complex issue, it goes way deeper than being the host. And Brad won in 2010; he hosted that year, so I don't think that's it...

Rock, pop, country, blues, and maybe even opera, Carrie can sing anything. That performance tonight ranks as probably the best live vocal she's ever done. Amazing. When you get a standing ovation from that audience, you've done something great.

YES! So glad LTG was nominated over SB. Fingers crossed for the win!
Her competition is SUPER stiff. I fully hope Carrie wins, but I simply cannot be upset if she doesn't. Her fellow nominees are all outstanding! Cam, Chris Stapleton, LeAnn, Keith, and Carrie are all very deserving of a win.

Def. isn't winning against Stapleton. A-okay with it, too. Barring Keith Urban, this year's crop of nominees for Country Solo is the best it's been in years. Just swap "Dime Store Cowgirl" for JohnJohnJohnJohnJohn.

Pretty crazy that the 2 new songs from a greatest hits album both garnered Grammy nominations (and one a win - so far!)

It's definitely Stapleton's to lose; considering he's an all-genre nominee as well. However, the solo category in the past has been sort of an outlier when it comes to winners, so I wouldn't be shocked at all if Carrie pulled out the win. I don't think it's likely, but I definitely think she has a shot. The country categories are almost never uniform in terms of winners, so I could see Little Big Town taking Duo/Group/Collab, Chris taking Album, and Carrie taking solo.

I liked "Someone to Watch Over Me," but I'm not quite sure she caressed the song the way she seemed to be trying.
Nice on the Grammys nod, but Chris Stapleton is the favorite to win that one. And with Stapleton, Little Big Town, and Sam Hunt all getting in the general field categories, the odds of Carrie being asked to perform are pretty slim (unless there is a tribute thing where they can fit her in).

I'm fairly certain she will perform. She left room on her schedule for the Grammys, and she's a Grammy favorite; she's one of the most frequent performers of the past decade. I think the three you listed AND Carrie will perform... We'll see... And I'm scratching my head at your STWOM comment... For me she delivered one of her best vocal performances ever; I was in tears with chills up and down my body. I know it's subjective, but judging by the overall reaction here, on social media, and in the venue, I think she "caressed" the song exactly how she was trying to.
