How long will Deftones get snubbed? REM are alright but beyond Losing My Religion, which is in my top 20 I don't really listen to them frequently, Kenneth

Just like Depeche Mode, it'll be tough to whittle this down to a top 10. Another great band.

This round is not going to be easy, mostly because I'll have to revisit quite a few songs of theirs. This might actually take me longer than any other band chosen so far.

wow that was hard...oddly enough i did not include the songs most commonly associated w/ them: Losing My Religion, Stand, & It's The End Of The World As We Know It...they would've made the cut if i had 20 spots, but there are so many obscure gems...oh crap, i just realized that i forgot to include "World Leader Pretend"...it's a brilliant album track from Green:

R.E.M is one of those bands I'll have to look up so I don't forget any songs I might have liked in the past, but I might have a snag coming up with 10? Then again. I felt the same about Beck and ended up having a ball choosing his songs, so go figure.

They're without a doubt my favorite band of all-time so needless to say this is gonna be tough. Hell, I'm even having trouble narrowing down the Automatic for the People cuts I'm considering for inclusion.
I'll be trying to balance out the classics with some deep cuts and lesser-known singles which probably won't get much love around here.

If "The Great Beyond" isn't in your top 10, you're wrong.

Just submitted my list. As I figured, it was all singles. However, on the outside looking in were three album tracks from "Accelerate."

Realized that I forgot to give people the 24 hour heads-up that I typically do, so I'm going to extend the deadline one day. Submissions are due tomorrow night, December 17th at Midnight EST.

Pulse Top 10s #11 - R.E.M. - Results
R.E.M.'s vote has ended after 16 posters submitted their ballots. Despite their wide-spanning discography, songs from their first album to their last managed to make their way into the table. The top slots mostly went to songs from the late 80s-early 90s, coinciding with the band's commercial peak. Losing My Religion takes the unsurprising #1 slot, though I'm a bit surprised Shiny Happy People just barely cracked the Top 10. 6 voters (alexcuse, Daryl, Dr.Indie, Lordeftones, Pipa, and thewebinator) continue their impressive streak of sending in a vote to every ballot. Also updated the History post on the first page of the thread with much more information about our past votes. Oh man, can't believe I forgot about "The One I Love". Stupid greatest hits set not including this song and "It's the End of the World". Oh well, wouldn't have made a difference in the results. Oscar method: {Spoiler} 1 Losing My Religion 5 2 What's The Frequency Kenneth? 2 3 Bang and Blame 3 Can't Get There From Here 3 Everybody Hurts 3 It's The End of the World As We Know It 3 Leave 3 Man on the Moon 3 Orange Crush 3 The Great Beyond 3 The One I Love

What's really impressive is how many songs had just 1 voter. Very diverse discography.

So "Leave" did pretty well for a song that only had two rep's, no?

"Losing My Religion" at #1 was pretty predictable and great. Even I chose it. I'm just glad "What's The Frequency, Kenneth" also made top 5.
I see alot of STP for artists suggestions. I hope they are next?

Well, I completely forgot about this vote. Probably would have given a big boost to "The Great Beyond", too. Darn. Oh well. I'll just make sure to be one of the first two or three ballots for the next vote. It's also not like #1 would have suddenly changed with my vote, either, especially when "Losing My Religion" would have been in my top 10, anyway.

Oh well, wouldn't have made a difference in the results. you probably were checking out In Time which only covers material from Green forward...checkout Eponymous which was their first greatest hits package

yeah I probably would've also included So. Central Rain as well had I listened to the first greatest hits set and remembered that song,
great for leave, wished more than 2 of us voted for it
Hoping for immediacy of STP/Scott Weiland next round too with 8of 14 votes, I'm sure a lot of us were listening to his songs immediately after his death, and the songs will be less fresh in our minds the further the wait.

Time to announce our 12th vote! Incubus takes top billing without much competition, earning 8 votes. Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains tie for the bottom mark with 3 votes, but with less overall nomination points over the last 5 weeks, Pearl Jam gets dropped this week. Artists like Beck and Incubus were in the same situation as Pearl Jam, yo-yoing on and off the ballot before securing their places, so Pearl Jam could surprise soon. Entering the two vacant spots on the ballot are Stone Temple Pilots with overwhelming support (I would be surprised to see them lose this vote) and The White Stripes, both making their first appearances. Just missing out are The Cars, The Cure, Tool, INXS, and 311.Here are the full standings: Incubus - 8 Queens Of The Stone Age - 6 Deftones - 5 Coldplay - 5 blink-182 - 5 Nirvana - 5 Radiohead - 4 Nickelback - 4 Alice In Chains - 3 Pearl Jam - 3Here's the link to Incubus' ballot!Voting closes Wednesday, December 30th at Midnight EST.

Love Incubus, so this round was pretty easy for me. Only had one song that wasn't a single, since most of their singles are Stellar, for lack of a better word.
