Yo no love for Alice In Chains? They gotta pull through. Definitely got some love for Incubus though. My list will likely be heavy on Light Grenades with the exception of Love Hurts, one of the few Incubus songs I truly dislike.

I was wrong, after doing some listening, pretty even between Light Grenades, Make Yourself, and Trust Fall

I haven't listened to Incubus much over the last few years, so this gives me a great chance as a big fan of theirs to do so. Their sound changes a lot from album to album, so it'll be interesting to analyze and think about what to include.

I also enjoy Incubus quite a bit. I'm gonna have narrow it down to 10 again.

After just listening to their earlier stuff from "Enjoy Incubus" and "S.C.I.E.N.C.E" for the first time in years, I will say that I enjoy their older stuff by far more than anything they've done over the last ten years or so. It's like 311 and the Chili Peppers had a baby with their older sound. Freaking awesome stuff. I'm not sure how many of the tracks from those albums I'll include on my Top 10 though.

This is especially hard because some of their songs are much better live than in the studio (and vice versa), so it's a big conflict in deciding whether to include the song. so several songs I want to cut based on the studio version (eg. Pardon Me, Drive, Love Hurts, A Crow Left of the Murder) have been set highlights during concert performances. Likewise, studio favorites such as Privilege and Dig underwhelmed with lack of energy in a live setting which tainted my overall impression of the song.

Oh man, Incubus. This will definitely be a biased top 10 for me.
My top 10 is almost entirely made up of songs from Morning View (one of my favorite albums ever) and Make Yourself. The only song pre-or-post those albums to make my top 10 was "Megalomaniac". Absolutely PAINED me to leave off "Absolution Calling", "Adolescents", "Aqueous Transmission", "Privilege" and "A Certain Shade of Green". OH, and "Talk Shows on Mute". And "Sick Sad Little World". And "Priceless".
Now that I think about it, Crow was a pretty underrated album.

Just finished my list. For this one, I actually prefer Incubus's album tracks overall rather than their singles. I only have four singles in my list unless "Circles" was one? I remember hearing it a few times on the radio back then.
Anyway, by album/EP:
Fungus Amongus - 0 Enjoy Incubus - 0 S.C.I.E.N.C.E. - 2 Make Yourself - 2 Morning View - 2 A Crow Left of the Murder - 1 Light Grenades - 2 Monuments and Melodies - 0 If Not Now, When? - 1 Trust Fall - 0

Pulse Top 10s #12 - Incubus - Results
The Incubus results appear without a huge surprise at the leader's post, with Drive cruising to an easy victory. It led from the first few ballots until the end without much competition. Single tracks dominated the first positions, but I was happy to see a strong variety in the full selection, with almost every track from S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself and Morning View getting at least a point, with the latter two albums being the clear favorites from our group. When I made a top 100 list of the millennium about 5 years ago, I had "Drive" at #1. Mainly because from the moment I heard it, I knew for sure that I wanted a little less pop music in my life, and more music like that, just as I was asking for & receiving the Make Yourself album for Christmas in 2000 which of course I was blown away by. The song, in 2016, has run its course though; I placed it at #6 here to give some more love to their other songs. I compare it to The Star-Spangled Banner in that you just have to like the song, but you don't necessarily want to spend 24 hours a day listening to it. I was very judgment-impaired yesterday by the time I made my picks, but I didn't want to miss out; I was already lucky that the deadline was not strictly enforced. In fact, I didn't even remember hitting the 'submit' button once I woke up this morning. I wish I had room to have included "In the Company of Wolves" and "Aqueous Transmission", and might have if I had even thought about it, but at least those made it onto the board. I did think about including "Pendulous Threads", and intended to, but forgot anyway, and that didn't make the board... . Well, now it's on this board at least!

Moose! High five for "Just A Phase". Also, look at the support for "Echo". Awesome. Can't say that the top 10 is too surprising overall. Thought that "Dig" might actually be a little higher than that, but I'm not complaining. Loving the diversity in the choices after the top 10, too. Incubus may be primarily a singles artist, but their album tracks are just as good.

I had Stellar in my Top 5 on my initial rough rankings, but then it became my final cut at #11 for my final list. it could've been #1 overall if I stuck to my initial impulse. surprised at the lack of mentions for I Miss You, live crowds sing along to this louder than many of their singles, Oscar method: 1 Drive 2=>8 2 Dig 2=>7 3 (all other songs ranked #1 each by 1 voter)

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that mostly their big singles would be near the top here. I actually don't believe I picked anything until #6 with "Warning" as 2/3 of my list were album tracks. After listening to their discography, I've grown even more of an appreciation for Incubus and how even though their sounds has changed since their early days, they alwas make sure to have a mixture of sound on every album to show off their talents. Something that you don't find as much these days in music anymore.

Can't say I argue with that top 10, although I've always found Wish You Were Here overrated. Great list.

Even though Trust Fall is new it's still super underrated. Maybe if there were more songs it would've gotten more attention but definitely some of their best material. Light Grenades and Morning View are their best albums imo though.

Stone Temple Pilots storm to the top of the vote in their first time on the ballot with 10 votes. The big losers this time around are Radiohead, only mustering votes from two posters. To replace them are The Cure, returning for the first time after their classic vote attempt, and 311, who have had very consistent support across the votes. Just missing out are The Cars, INXS, Tool, Pearl Jam, and The Smashing Pumpkins. Here are the full standings:Stone Temple Pilots - 10 Alice In Chains - 6 Queens Of The Stone Age - 5 Deftones - 5 The White Stripes - 5 Coldplay - 4 Nirvana - 3 Nickelback - 3 blink-182 - 3 Radiohead - 2Here's the link to the STP ballot!Voting closes Thursday, January 14th at Midnight EST.

STP are good but three of my favorite bands are right behind them on the list so hopefully they pull through in the coming rounds. My list is mostly singles.

Are Velvet Revolver and Scott Weiland solo songs eligible for inclusion? I'd prefer if the list was just kept to STP songs, since that's what most people listed for nomination. I also think it's a little cleaner if each vote is just kept to one band. If a bunch of people disagree with that then we can change it but for now I think it's simpler to keep the focus on one band at a time.

I'll wait to see if we can add Velver Revolver and Scott solos, but it's gonna be hard as hell to choose only 10 STP songs as it is. With that said: I asume STP with Chester Bennington is eleigible, since its STP material? Yes?

We did a Top 10 tournament on Alternanoise (formerly Tunelab) with STP a few weeks ago, so I already had my list made. I'm eager to see how the results turn out in comparison to on there where it's more of a harder rock audience.

Wanted to give this a quick bump since there are just over 48 hours left to vote, and so far we have a little less than the usual number of respondents. (only 11 so far).
The vote for our next artist is very close, 4 of the 10 on the ballot are within 2 of the lead.
