“Modest talent” in this business doesn’t get you a career for almost 30 years. Oh? It doesn't. Poor Madonna is just gonna be erased like that, huh? But, that is pretty funny that you feel that way or that you are speaking like some showbiz vet but, stan on, sis!

US Weekly is now reporting it with their own sources. They’ve had quite the exclusives the last couple of years. Jay-Z needs to stay quiet. Nobody cares about whose performing in Tampa in 2021. Everyone wants Jen 💁🏻♀️.

What does Jay-Z have to do with JLo's halftime performance at the Super Bowl next year? Oh...never mind, apparently he works with the NFL and is a consultant on the halftime show, so probably has some decision-making power. Gotcha.

Throwing in your 2 cents that nobody asked for in her thread about her supposed lack of talent. When actual industry vets have continued to work with, hire her and praise her for 30 years. They know talent far more than you and I do. Fortunately for me the vets and I agree.

I actually forgot how you do the absolute most but let's not equate you and I. You are the one who said "this business" like you are in it, sis, not I! Anyway, I said modicum/moderate talent which is different than "no talent" and which is true. I don't care if God himself worked with JLo. Hollywood is an industry of gladhanding and fake smiles, in case you haven't noticed, so other actors and Pitbull talking about her talents mean nothing to me. I judge with my ears and eyes. Ageless beauty, amazing body, a compilation full of great songs, and passable acting. Could be better, could be worse. After I watch the movie, I will see for myself just how well she does because I don't rely on critics for my views and thoughts.

If shes getting all these reviews like this and rarely on other roles, something must be going right. Even if she's nominated, it'll be great to see "Academy Award Nominee..". Humble,Hustling,Queen.

Even in her films that aren’t greatly received by critics, they always make it a point to mention that she was great. Here’s to hoping this role/potential Oscar nom will steer her back into more serious roles like when she first started her acting career. She already has Griselda Blanco lined up next!

Is Griselda the crime boss?
My favorite J Lo movie so far has been The Cell. I want her to make more weird, creepy films like that.

“Modest talent” in this business doesn’t get you a career for almost 30 years. Like Cher, she's turning into a Hollywood cockroach (Cher reference). You can't predict who will last. As far back as I can remember people have been saying JLo has no talent and that she wouldn't last. Now, here she is at age 50 doing it all: soldout tour, successful movie and possibly the halftime show! She's a fashion icon that is still seen as sexy at age 50. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if she'll last as a mainstream artist longer than anyone else.

After I watch the movie, I will see for myself just how well she does because I don't rely on critics for my views and thoughts. This. I will always root for Jennifer Lopez, simply because she's one of the few genuine "stars" we have and she works her ass off (and nostalgia doesn't hurt). But her greatest talent is (and always has been) her ability to maintain her star status without actually having the body of work to back it up. 25 years worth of mostly sh*tty movies and unimpressive performances. An abysmal discography outside of that cute four year window when she released some good singles. A career riddled with flop after flop. Far greater talents have been undone by a mere fraction of the trash she's put out, but she's somehow maintained her status despite that. And I know all of that sounds like a knock, but it's really not. I have mad respect for her as a person and a celebrity, as an artist, not so much. But I'm here for Hustlers though. Hopefully it's as good as the critics are saying.

I can’t with some of you and your comments. So predictable. Oh well, haters are gonna hate. Sold out tour. Oscar buzz. Halftime show talk. In love and engaged. What did you do this year apart from reaching diamond status on Pulse? 😂

What did you do this year apart from reaching diamond status on Pulse? 😂 Stan culture on Pulse is even more predictable. Yawn. Buuut...since you asked: 1. Landed a very good job with one of the biggest investment banks. 2. Continued to maintain my 2 br/2 bathroom apt (and my lifestyle) in the nicest part of Forbes' Best City In The Country without a roommate or income for the last 3 months. 3. Bought Louis Vuitton bracelets for 4 of my bitches with one to come. 4. Went to 4 amazing weddings 5. Spent my birthday in one of the best places on earth with my best friend of 27 years, two other friends of over 20 yrs, and my godson. What the f**k have YOU done this year? Are we now supposed to compare ourselves to multi-millionaire celebrities? If so, I would love to see how you stack up. Also, Ling-Ling STAYS the voice of reason around here. It's hard out here dealing with rabid, maniacal stans! Stay strong, fam!

Why are we arguing both sides are correct she has minimum talent as singer and artist, lbr she is a celebrity not an artist, she is a good actress but not great and also for the other side she has managed to accomplish great career. Both sides are correct. She also looks fabulous and sexy in her dress.
We not gonna sell me a walmart painting and call it picasso without some pushback. I like her hustle. She is a superstar but let's not get ahead of ourselves lol this isnt exactly Madonna or Meryl Streep. At the same time you can do nothing but congrats to someone who made it out of the Bronx and made a superstar lane built on her hard work.🙌🙏 hyperbole aside on all fronts.

I've gotten the same treatment in other threads (and usually by the same people LOL) when I say anything remotely critical about an artist. It's almost comical to me because I have been bopping to JLo's songs since If You Had My Love dropped (bought the CD single), downloaded some of her albums and singles, and even own Out Of Sight and The Cell, and liked her dancing on In Living Color, but I am a hater LOL. Some of her stans didn't even know she existed then.

Shes such a Jack of all trades. I wonder if she's going to do more music, or just full time acting.

Based on the reaction from Hustlers and the diminishing returns from her music career, moving to acting permanently would be really smart. If she still wants to perform, she can keep her Vegas show.

She said she was working on an album. I can’t imagine she doesn’t release a new single if she does do the SB And with the It’s My Party tour being such a huge success I can’t see her not touring again.

Almost 20 years ago she was on the Oscar stage. It was the first time I was introduced to her and instantly remarked what a beautiful woman.

If J. Lo was the album with Play on it, I wore that album out in college.

Y’all are exhausting!
Jennifer is not a hack and she’s maintaining a thriving career in a notoriously ageist, sexist industry (as most of them are) - off the strength of new ventures at that, not just being trotted out to fill a nostalgia act quota - and I think that alone is worth celebrating. How many female entertainers of today will be able to say the same over the next few decades? Hell, how many of them are well-rounded entertainers to begin with? (Like for real for real, I think of some of the other hoes that have rabid stans on here and I can’t even imagine what they’ll be accomplishing in 5-10 years, let alone decades).
I’ll root for Jenny as hard as I continue to root for Mariah and Madonna and others of their ilk that continue to forge their own paths, extend their legacies over rehashing past glories, and flourish on their own levels in spite of how their relevance and talent may be perceived.

Some of my fav songs and these are just off the top of my head!
“I’ve Been Thinking” “You Belong To Me” “Again” “I’m Glad” ***omg u can tell she was in love**
“Get Right” “Whatever U Wanna Do” “Step Into My World” “Still Around” “I, Love”
Chil bop after bop!
“I’m Real” (remix) “Love Don’t Cost A Thing”
“Waiting For Tonight” “If You Had My Love”
“On The Floor”!!!!
Sometimes it’s NOT about the size of a catalog but the quality and impact you have on the culture. The visuals for this a Super Bowl show is going to be INSANE!

Agree . Contrary to belief I have nothing against her. I enjoyed her Murder Inc days, Jenny from the Block and her first song Living for Tonight. Only criticism would be her featuring pitbull.
She is unproblematic and I love my old bitches.❤
