Is 'Heartbeat' the second single? No. "Smoke Break" won't peak for another few weeks. "Heartbeat" might be the second single off Storyteller but it's still way too early to tell.

I've tried numerous times, different days to register on carriefans and the confirmation email never has come to my email to click the link. I've given up on that site.

Carrie should rise to #7 tomorrow passing Kenny Chesney in the process before passing Brett Eldridge by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

This still isn't even top 15 in streaming for country songs? Yikes.

I would have thought her video streams at least would be better. How does she get so many CMT Awards (voted on by fans right?) yet they don't watch her videos?

How does she get so many CMT Awards (voted on by fans right?) yet they don't watch her videos? That's a very bold statement to make based on the performance of one song... Voting and streaming cannot be correlated in such a way that one is solely indicative of the other. You can make connections, but they aren't one in the same. And "Smoke Break" has 5 million views on YouTube... not bad, in my opinion. I think they're the only ones watching the video, generally speaking... "Smoke Break" hasn't made as big a splash as Carrie's past lead singles, so a lot of its popularity, I'd argue, has been generated by the fans alone. Obviously its airplay helps, but the fans (many on Carriefans.com) literally let her videos play continuously. They even do it through a website that provides a YouTube link which automatically replays the video they're currently watching. So while you seem to be painting Carrie's fans with a broad brush in asking why she wins CMT Awards when her fans "don't watch her videos", I'd argue it's just the opposite --- they're almost solely the reason the video is as popular as it is. In other words, they're pretty much the only ones watching it. Obviously I'm speaking in very general terms, as there's no way to know specifically who's watching the video, but that would be my observation based on SB's rather lackluster digital performance thus far in terms of sales and streams.

Cam's lyric video for "Burning House" has over 6 million views. Jana Kramer's video for "I Got The Boy" has over 6 million views, too. I know it's been out a lot longer than "Smoke Break," but it hasn't had near the success/promotion. Luke Bryan's lyric video for "Strip It Down" has over 9 million views. Nothing seems to be have huge totals, though, except for a few Sam Hunt videos. Where does most country streaming come from?

Considering the buzz for Smoke Break and Storyteller, I would have expected the view count for the video to be much higher. Because of that, Smoke Break has so far peaked at #5 on the mongrel chart. Furthermore, the single sits at #7 this week on the digital songs chart with 18,000 (220,000 download so far). I do expect those numbers to perk up once the song climbs the airplay chart a little more.

So I think we'll see considerable spikes in the next two weeks.

I was trying to have a discussion, not get accused of things. Perhaps you meant all of her videos, but it looked like you were basing her award history off the view count for "Smoke Break" alone with the way it was initially presented. That said, even taking into account her view count for this and other videos, she still has much higher views for her music videos than most of her contemporaries. Most country artists just do not have very high numbers for their videos.

Ok now the dust has settled and it looks like to me that Carrie has 4 weeks until she hits #1. It appears that Sony will be getting OD to #1 first which is fine since SB is young. Here's how it will go:
FGL Cole Swindell OD Carrie Underwood
This is probably the best position she's been in as far as going to the top goes. The next nearest song from Carrie is Dan + Shay and they are at least 3 million behind on mediabase from her, probably a similar gap on Billboard, so I would say SB has a 99% chance of getting the BB AirPlay #1 in 4 weeks.

I hope you're right. That means it will take Smoke Break thirteen weeks to hit the top, Carrie Underwood's first #1 in three years (her longest gap since first topping the chart in 2006). Not the break neck speed she took Cowboy Casanova to #1 in 2009 (ten weeks).

Including Mediabase, BB HCS, BB Country Airplay, and Hot 100 #1's, Smoke Break will be Carrie's 21st #1!
Not bad for just over 10 years!

Excuse the album sales post: hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=298207NEW RELEASES: 5 SECONDS OF ONE-DAY SALESBased on very, very early reads, Capitol's 5 Seconds of Summer leads 19/Arista Nashville's Carrie Underwood for #1 next week on both the HITS Album Sales and SPS charts. 5 Seconds of Summer (Capitol) 175-185k album, 190-200k Carrie Underwood (19/Arista Nashville) 150-160k, 160-170k------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm disappointed in this. Is it 10 years in the industry or "Smoke Break"? Probably a lot to do with today's climate. People don't have to buy music anymore to get to listen to it as often as they want when they want. It's free on Spotify and other streaming services. I wish Carrie had waited a while before allowing the Album to go up on the streaming sites. However, I also don't think Smoke Break was a great lead single to create buzz outside the Country Genre. I haven't looked at numbers but I would bet this is her lowest selling lead single ever if not lowest selling overall single ever.

Buy/Stream Storyteller and its tracks so Carrie can get #1, not a boy band!

Isn't OD about to overtake FGL? It does appear that yes, OD has taken over FGL for #2 on MB. I'm not sure what Sony is planning, whether it be OD going for the MB #1 only or it trying to blast past FGL and take #1 on both charts next week, its unclear. Carrie is sitting at #5 on MB currently, and probably about the same on BB. She will for sure get a MB #1 and I hope Sony goes for a BB #1 too and ends her drought of an Airplay #1. Luke didn't drop as hard as I thought, so I see him possibly taking a 2nd week at BB, and then having a split #1 for next week, FGL #1 on BB and OD #1 on MB, then Cole will hit both charts and then Carrie. I wouldn't be too aggressive at this point because Carrie is still 7-8 million off from a #1 and her song is only 8-9 weeks old.

This is by far my favorites along with I Got The Boy on Country radio. I love the sound of this. It's like a fusion of Country/Rock sound but it still has strong Country roots. It's nice to hear something like this, especially with the state of the Country music.
