Brooks & Dunn are gunning for a Duo nomination. Not according to Ronnie Dunn. Whoever created the image is in no way associated with Brooks & Dunn.

I was confused considering how late that came up from the person who revealed the other CMA pushes; didn't make sense for it to be made public now, a week after all the others were made public.

I wish they would let either Cam sing "Burning House" or let Jana Kramer sing "I Got the Boy". Those are two songs that I think are most deserving of big promotion. Here's to Hoping.

The only way either will perform is if they're nominated, and even then it's doubtful. We'll see, but I think the female performers will be Miranda, Carrie, Kacey, and Reba.

I hope Carrie Underwood gets a ton of nominations and actually wins a few. I can't believe her last win was in 2008 for Female Vocalist of the Year.

All but confirms Kelsea made the Female Vocalist category. I sincerely doubt they would send her if she wasn't nominated for something.c

That would just be so awkward for her to announce Female Vocalist and she isn't in. I would laugh but I'd feel really bad for her.

So by that logic, Steven Tyler is also getting a male vocalist nomination, right? This logic makes zero sense...
Edit: I do not think it would be awkward at all to have her announce the female vocalist nominations and have her not be among them. This is a girl who a year ago did not even have enough info circulating for a Wikipedia article to be created about her. It is a HUGE honor for her to even be announcing nominations! A case could certainly be made that she will be a shoe-in because she has had one of the biggest female hits of the year, but a particularly compelling argument could also be made for the fact that she simply hasn't been around long enough to earn a spot in the female vocalist category yet. I am definitely of that latter mindset. She is definitely on track for future years, but I just do not think it is time yet.
Awkward = Faith Hill having a backstage diva freak-out on camera about losing to Carrie Underwood. NOT Awkward = Kelsea Ballerini announcing nominations for female vocalist as a serious up-and-comer for the category. If she ISN'T a nominee, she will most definitely be thrilled for all of the nominees who are undoubtedly her idols and inspirations, rather than feeling jaded about not being among them.

I think she'll see two nominations this year: New Artist and Female Vocalist.

So by that logic, Steven Tyler is also getting a male vocalist nomination, right? This logic makes zero sense... I don't think anybody was saying/thinking that. However, in years past, sometimes the reason that an artist(s) was selected to announce the nominees is because he/she/they were nominated themselves. And so the fact that Kelsea was able to "score" this gig makes me think that there's a fairly high chance that she scored at least 1 nomination, and I think Female Vocalist (since there are very few popular females) is the most likely. New Artist is another possibility but I think it'll be hard for Kelsea to get nominated there. She doesn't have nearly the sales numbers or popularity that many of the eligible new male artists do. Obviously we all know Steven Tyler won't be nominated for Male Vocalist, lol. But he's a big name so it's not a surprise that he was selected to announce the nominees. My guess is that they'll give him a performance slot.

We know that Steven isn't getting a nomination, so I just don't think it is likely that they would send two people to announce the nominations without at least one of them receiving one themselves. I cannot think of a prior circumstance when both people announcing the nominations did not receive one themselves. It makes for good TV to have someone there that is receiving a nod so they can get their immediate reaction.

I guess I'll make my predictions since they get announced tomorrow. Mind you, this is what I PREDICT will get nominated, not necessarily who I want to get nominated LOL. I think most of us here at Pulse would have very different lists. I'll put a star next to ones I EXPECT will win
Entertainer of the Year - Luke Bryan - Jason Aldean - FGL - Garth Brooks * - Blake Shelton ( Dark horses: Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, ZBB)
Male Vocalist - Dierks Bentley * (yes I am predicting an upset, he deserves it here) - Jason Aldean - Blake Shelton - Eric Church - Luke Bryan (Dark Horses: Time McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban)
Female Vocalist - Reba - Carrie Underwood * - Miranda Lambert - Kelsea Ballerini - Kacey Musgraves (Dark Horses: Ashley Monroe, Cam, Jana Kramer)
Vocal Duo - FGL * (Imagine the *sigh* that came forth when I typed that) - Brothers Osborne - Montgomery Gentry - Big & Rich - Maddie & Tae
Vocal Group - ZBB - Little Big Town * - Lady Antebellum - A Thousand Horses - Rascal Flatts
Album of the Year - Zac Brown Band "Jekyl & Hyde" - Jason Aldean "Old Boots, New Dirt" - Blake Shelton "Bringing Back The Sunshine" * (please don't let Aldean get this) - Chris Stapleton "Traveller" - Kacey Musgraves "Pageant Material" (Dark Horses: Sundown Heaven Town, Man AGainst Machine, The Big Revival)
Single of the Year - Little Big Town "Girl Crush" * - Zac Brown Band "Homegrown" - Blake Shelton "Sangria" - Sam Hunt "Take Your Time" - Tim McGraw "Shotgun Rider"
Song Of The Year - Little Big Town "Girl Crush" * - Blake Shelton "Sangria" - Tim McGraw "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools" - Eric Church "Like A Wrecking Ball"\ - Carrie Underwood "Something In The Water"
Vocal Event - Blake & Ashley Monroe "Lonely Tonight" - Keith Urban & Eric Church "Raise 'Em Up" - Kenny Chesney & Grace Potter "Wild Child" * - Tim McGraw & Catherine Dunn "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools" - Miranda Lambert & LBT "Smoking and Drinking" (Just realized this is the tightest year in a while for this category, wouldnt surprise me if any of these won)
FINAL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS - Dierks and Tim deserve a lot more noms than above, just saying. Tim revitalized his career just a little, and Dierks catapulted into A-list status, and put out his best album to date. - There better be some love for Stapelton. A nomination or 2 would be great, but he truly deserves to win AOTY. No one with ears could listen to his album, and then Aldeans, and possibly think Aldeans is better. Unfortunately, this category sometimes goes to person with most #'1's from the album - Ashley Monroe deserves more noms, her album was my #2 from year (ahead of Kacey). That album might be a little young for nomination, since it was just released in July. - I think CMAs should shake things up in the coming years, maybe include a "Icon" category , especially since Nash Icons is up and running. A platform where Reba, Dwight, Ronnie Dunn, Martina, Alan Jackson etc could have their due as well. Or maybe even a "Indie" category. So many artists are going the indie route, it would give them a platform as well. I think categories like this would appease the more traditional crowd and maybe make the show more enjoyable - More female performers please. These shows are often sausage-fests (sorry but its true). Would love to see someone like Cam or Mickey Guyton get a performance slot - Sidenote, really looking forward to Grammys in February. I think Stapleton, Monroe and Musgraves will really shine there and battle it out for Country Album win.

In the music video category I had LTG in there, obviously that cannot happen, so that's now SITW.
In EOTY I had Miranda, I will take her out, put in I don't know, I'd like to say Carrie, but I just don't think this is the year. Next year, though, it will be exciting.

I'm interested to see if Miranda's relatively poor year commercially combined with the fallout from the Blake separation hurt her this year. I could see her losing some support.
