"Scarecrows" and "Fast" better be singles at some points. That is all.

On my initial listening, I've heard Scarecrows and To the Moon and Back and I feel like he put his weaker songs out first, which is comforting, cause I've like all I've heard so far...will update later.
Love Strip It Down Fast Razor Blade Just Over
Good Scarecrows To the Moon and Back Huntin', Fishin', and Lovin' Everyday Move Love It Gone
Meh Kill the Lights Home Alone Tonight
Bad The Beautiful People Song...

I'm really enjoying: Fast, To the Moon and Back (this better be released as a single; I think it's a game changer for him), Way Way Back, Scarecrows, Kill the Lights, Just Over, and Move.
I really think this is his most well-rounded album just by listening to it...there are a lot of songs I throughly enjoyed and I also agree with the statement that he released his weaker material as singles first...I really would love to see Fast and To the Moon and Back as singles at some point.

There's a couple pop-ish/bro country songs, but this as a whole is 10 times more country than his previous couple are. I think this will please quite a few members on pulse.

Folks, in order to put a listening party thread here, there needs to be a link to stream the album...otherwise it kind of defeats the purpose of a listening party. Album threads go in the artist discussion forum; as it happens, there's already a thread for Kill The Lights there. pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/149661/luke-bryan-lights-august-2015If someone has a link to stream this album, please PM me and I will unlock the thread. Thanks.

I haven't listened yet because I'm waiting till I can get the physical copy, but I'm glad to hear you guys like some of the stuff so far.
He did say that "Fast" would probably be a single. Didn't he also say "Home Alone Tonight" would be?
I heard something on The Highway where he said "that's just a 'Country Girl Shake it For Me' type song, so let's make it a single and watch the people dance" or something like that...no idea what song he was talking about but after hearing "Kill the Lights" maybe it's that one?
If there are 5 poppy songs on the album and 8 non-poppy ones, it would be a crying shame if 4 of the radio singles were poppy.

I thought the album was good for what it was, but at the same time don't think it's as country as Bryan described it to be.

I like it. It's "more country than Crash My Party" which is what Luke claimed, but it's definitely not as country as his first two albums. I think it's a step in the right direction and I heard a lot of good stuff. My breakdown:
Outstanding Little Boys Grow Up and Dogs Get Old (Target) Scarecrows To The Moon and Back Buddies (Target)
Love It Fast Huntin', Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day Love it Gone Move Strip it Down Way Way Back Kill the Lights
Neutral Just Over Corner Booth (Target)
Hate It Home Alone Tonight Razor Blade
My pick for singles: 3. Move 4. Fast 5. To the Moon and Back 6. Huntin', Fishin', and Lovin' Every Day
Most likely singles (unfortunately): 3. Kill the Lights 4. Fast 5. Home Alone Tonight

That would be "Move", which other than "Kick The Dust Up", is my least favorite song on the album. He basically said on The Highway today that "Move" will be a single without actually using the words 'it'll be a single'. He also eluded to "Kill The Lights" getting released at some point. I agree with others that "Fast" is too good not to be released, so those three are likely to be released.

"Fast" was great, "Move" was pretty meh, although I did hear a pretty prominent banjo in the beginning - it was quickly lost, though. The only time I really have to check out new music is when I run, so I'll be listening to this in full in the next little bit.

I'm actually happy that it was "Move" because I like that one. It's very Luke, and very Country Girl Shake It, but I just like it.
I think he'd be doing himself a HUGE disservice by not releasing "To the Moon and Back".

Yeah I'm actually not sure why "Move" wasn't the lead single. It's far more catchy and fun than "Kick The Dust Up", and honestly should be a single because it'll probably be the biggest hit on the album.
My first thoughts are that this album isn't as instant as "Crash My Party". It's taking me a few listens to get into it, but there are some solid country songs on here. "Scarecrows", "Fast", and "Move" are my 3 favorites, and would be the next 3 singles if I was calling the shots. The only song I'm not big one is "Home Alone Tonight", which is really disappointing considering the guest feature. The fact that the whole chorus is built around sending your ex a picture of you with someone else is quite creepy and just an asshole move honestly. I will pray that this one doesn't see the light of day as a single, and there might be a good chance considering the approval would be needed.
My singles predictions: 1. Kick The Dust Up 2. Strip It Down
3. Move 4. Kill The Lights 5. Fast I think they might stop at 5 singles this time around, but if they go 6 deep then I'll say Way Way Back will get the nod. Again, these aren't my choices but my predictions on what the label/Luke will choose.

If I'm being honest, this was better than I thought it'd be. The first 4 songs and "Move" are pretty terrible, but I have to admit, there's some good songs here like "Fast", "To The Moon and Back", and "Scarecrows". Granted, there's also a lot of bland here too, but overall it's better than "Crash My Party" IMO.

I listened to a Luke CD in full for the first time in years today! And, like Zack, I was pleasantly surprised. I genuinely like, and would listen to again, 8 of the 13. I still don't think this is anywhere near the quality of his first two albums, but it may be a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, most of what I don't like is what's likely to be released as singles (two of them already have been) so it won't be an enjoyable era for me, likely, radio-wise. But I guess it's nice to know that Luke still does know how to make actual country music. Love: To The Moon and Back Razor Blade Just Over Fast Like: Way Way Back Love it Gone Scarecrows Huntin, Fishin, and Lovin Every Day Meh: Strip it Down Move Home Alone Tonight (wow, is this overhyped and totally underwhelming or what? Karen's vocals are SO buried on this) Kill the Lights Kick the Dust Up If I'm giving it a grade, it's a B-, probably. 7/10

I don't hate "Home Alone Tonight" anymore. It's got such a non-traditional melody and style especially through the chorus and I think that threw me off at first. It's different.
Anyways, the last three songs on the album (To The Moon and Back, Huntin' Fishin', and Scarecrows) may be 3 of the best songs Luke has ever recorded, in my opinion. Knowing that, we probably won't see any as singles.

As someone who believes the only decent Luke Bryan song is Crash My Party coming into this album, I still stand behind that statement. The best of the worst on this album is Home Alone Tonight. That's only because Karen's vocals, despite being drowned out, are decent. I keep trying to get on the Luke Bryan bandwagon of love, but I just can't. Thanks for posting the stream!

Great album and lots of songs that I enjoy listening multiple times. Only concern is that there aren't that many undeniably catchy country-pop songs on the album (like "Play It Again" or "Drunk On You"). I think only "Home Alone Tonight" or possibly "Move" may qualify in that category.
My predictions for radio singles (coincidentally, these are also my 3 favorite songs on the album):
3. Fast (critical favorite as 3rd single....same strategy as CMP album) 4. Home Alone Tonight (fan favorite country-pop....Luke confirmed it will be a single. LBT will be in-between albums by then, so it makes sense as 4th single) 5. Huntin'. Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day (Luke's personal favorite)
I suspect there's not gonna be a 6th single off this album. Since Luke said "Huntin', Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day" is one of his favorite songs he's ever written, don't be surprised if that song gets chosen as the 5th single over more obvious commercial choices like "Move" or "Kill The Lights".

I'm really diggin' this record. This is Luke Bryan's version of Bringing Back The Sunshine ( in other words bringing back every element of his brand of country). I'm not the biggest hater of Kick The Dust Up but I do think Move was better. Love Razor Blade, Scarecrows, Way Way Back, & To The Moon and Back. Wouldn't be against those three being released to radio.

I'm surprised a lot of us think that they will stop at 5 singles, some of us even think they'll stop at 4. I just can't see that being the case. The album has been out for 2 days and the second single is already top 40. They were about three weeks short of being able to squeeze 7 singles out of "Crash My Party" so I don't see why they couldn't do 5 at the very least. The way labels want to push singles up and down so quickly I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they do 6. There's plenty of material here too.

Found "Home Alone Tonight" laughably bad. The flip my camera up, send it to my ex lyrics LOL. Anyways, I forget where but I think Luke mentioned at one point that "Fast" would be a single, so Y E S to that

After a few more listens, "Scarecrows" has become a real grower and becoming a huge favorite as well. The lyrics are so country!
Interesting look at iTunes to see which album cuts are selling the best:
1. Home Alone Tonight 2. Kill The Lights 3. To The Moon And Back 4. Huntin', Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day 5. Move 6. Way Way Back 7. Fast 8. Scarecrows
All songs above are in the iTunes top 50. The lowest selling songs are "Razor Blade", "Just Over" and "Love It Gone". Doubt any of these are radio singles.
"To The Moon and Back" is selling way better than I predicted, and "Move" is selling way less than I predicted. Otherwise, the sales are what I expected.
