Congrats Pentatonix! Who knew an act from AGT would find more success than anyone on the 8 seasons of The Voice They are from The Sing-Off but still true! The closest The Voice got to a #1 album was with Melanie Martinez (#6) and Cassadee Pope (#9)

Once again, Billboard forgets to put Vance Joy on the Billboard 200 even though he has more sales and streaming than the Josh Groban album which is lower on TAS.

They don't seem to care about this as they've ignored my emails.

Taylor Swift's '1989' Only Fifth Album to Spend First Year in Billboard 200's Top 10 News /
By Keith Caulfield | October 27, 2015 12:10 PM EDT
Taylor Swift's 1989 album celebrates a full first year in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart, making it just the fifth album to spend its first 52 weeks of release in the top 10.
In its 52nd frame on the tally (dated Nov. 7), 1989 slips 6-9 with 37,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 22, according to Nielsen Music. The set debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated Nov. 14, 2014, spent 11 nonconsecutive weeks atop the list and has yet to leave the top tier.
Taylor Swift's '1989' One-Year Anniversary: What Should Be Next Single From Blockbuster Album?
1989 was released on Oct. 27, 2014 on Big Machine Records and has now sold 5.4 million copies to date.
Albums With Most Weeks in Billboard 200 Top 10 From Debut (Aug. 17, 1963* - Present):
Weeks in Top 10, Title, Artist, Debut Chart Date 84, Born in the U.S.A., Bruce Springsteen, June 23, 1984 78, 21, Adele, March 12, 2011 59, Falling Into You, Celine Dion, March 30, 1996 52, Rumours, Fleetwood Mac, Feb. 26, 1977 52, 1989, Taylor Swift, Nov. 15, 2014 (*When the Billboard 200 chart combined its earlier separate mono and stereo album charts into one all-encompassing list.)
The last album to spend its first year on the chart in the top 10 was Adele’s 21, which racked up 78 straight weeks in the region between its debut on March 12, 2011 and Sept. 1, 2012. (It would later return to the top 10 for three more frames.)
Before that, Celine Dion’s Falling Into You tallied its first 59 weeks in the top 10 (March 30, 1996 through May 10, 1997). Like 21, Dion’s album also came back to the top 10 (for two more weeks).
The ‘80s saw just one album manage the feat: Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A., which holds the record for the longest consecutive top 10 run from its debut: 84 weeks (June 23, 1984 through Jan. 25, 1986). (Unlike Dion and Adele, however, once Springsteen’s album departed the top 10, it never returned.)
Before the Boss, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours clocked a year (52 frames) in the top 10 from its start at No. 10 on Feb. 26, 1977 through the Feb. 18, 1978-dated chart. (While Rumours never came back to the top 10, it got close: on the May 21, 2011 chart, following Fox TV’s Glee tribute episode to Rumours, the album reentered the chart at No. 11.)
It’s important to note that it wasn’t commonplace for an album to debut in the top 10 before the chart began using Nielsen Music’s point-of-sale data, beginning with the May 25, 1991-dated chart. Between Aug. 17, 1963 (when the chart’s earlier separate mono and stereo album charts joined into one all-encompassing chart) through May 18, 1991, just 59 albums debuted in the top 10. The first set to debut in the region in that span of time was The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which bowed at No. 8 on the June 24, 1967 chart. The Billboard 200 didn’t welcome its first No. 1 debut until June 7, 1975, when Elton John’s Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy galloped in at No. 1.

As much as I love Demi, I have to say I'm so happy Pentatonix got the #1!!! I've followed them since the beginning, and it makes me so happy to know that they have both their single on the Hot 100 this week and their album at the top of both charts!!!

Albums With Most Weeks in Billboard 200 Top 10 From Debut (Aug. 17, 1963* - Present): Weeks in Top 10, Title, Artist, Debut Chart Date 84, Born in the U.S.A., Bruce Springsteen, June 23, 1984 78, 21, Adele, March 12, 2011 59, Falling Into You, Celine Dion, March 30, 1996 52, Rumours, Fleetwood Mac, Feb. 26, 1977 52, 1989, Taylor Swift, Nov. 15, 2014 (*When the Billboard 200 chart combined its earlier separate mono and stereo album charts into one all-encompassing list.) The last album to spend its first year on the chart in the top 10 was Adele’s 21, which racked up 78 straight weeks in the region between its debut on March 12, 2011 and Sept. 1, 2012. (It would later return to the top 10 for three more frames.) Before that, Celine Dion’s Falling Into You tallied its first 59 weeks in the top 10 (March 30, 1996 through May 10, 1997). 25, 1986). (Unlike Dion and Adele, however, once Springsteen’s album departed the top 10, it never returned.) Before the Boss, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours clocked a year (52 frames) in the top 10 from its start at No. 10 on Feb. 26, 1977 through the Feb. 18, 1978-dated chart. (While Rumours never came back to the top 10, it got close: on the May 21, 2011 chart, following Fox TV’s Glee tribute episode to Rumours, the album reentered the chart at No. 11.) It’s important to note that it wasn’t commonplace for an album to debut in the top 10 before the chart began using Nielsen Music’s point-of-sale data, beginning with the May 25, 1991-dated chart. 1. I tried to find the answer to this one, but where did Thriller start on the chart. I know it spent 37 weeks in the #1 spot. Where was it during the other 15 weeks? Thanks.

Did not debut in the top 10. Opened at #11 12/25/82, the chart was frozen 1/1/83, it then spent the next 78 weeks in the top 10

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=298243After a tighter-than-tight battle, RCA’s Pentatonix eked out a win on the Bible’s “consumption” chart, scoring a first-week total of 98.4k, edging past the 98.1k for Safehouse/Island/Hollywood’s Demi Lovato. That’s a difference of fewer than 300 units—less than 3/10 of 1%. It’s believed that the 2.6k generated by PTX sales through the Cracker Barrel chain made the difference. Here’s the Bible breakdown: PTX reportedly sold 87.7k albums and 54.8k songs and saw 7.8 million streams in their first week, while Demi moved 76.6k albums, 136.1k songs and 11.9m streams. Pass the syrup.

Wow. That's awful considering her hype, having a #1 hit, and having another song currently in the top 20.

Pass the syrup. Just can't with Hits Daily Double mocking the consumption methodology when they promote (in a non-satirical fashion) their own "sales plus streaming" chart. I'm also pretty sure they started reporting historical/weekly/quarterly sales data in terms of Pure Sales + TEA long before Billboard revamped its BB200. As for the actual scoop here, we constantly see the impact of these retail promotions -- it's so baffling that more labels don't take advantage. What did RCA/PTX give up in exchange for those 2.6K sales -- fan Twitter Q&As (that they probably would have done anyway) and maybe a slight cut off the top? Certainly a winner of a deal for them.

www.metalinsider.net/columns/metal-by-numbers/metal-by-numbers-1028-coheed-crash-the-top-5Metal By Numbers 10/28: Coheed crash the top 5Posted by Matt Brown Notable Debuts:Coheed and Cambria, The Color Before The Sun (300 Entertainment) #5, 31,225 sold The band’s latest doesn’t sell as much in its first week as its predecessors, but a top five record is still a massive achievement. Stryper, Fallen (Frontiers) #26, 9,900 sold The band’s sixteenth album manages to outdo 2013’s No More Hell To Pay, an impressive display that goes against what you expect from an 80’s glam band. The Plot In You, Happiness In Self Destruction (Stay Sick) #47, 4,975 sold The third album from The Plot In You lands in the top 50, making it their highest charting album yet. Ugly Kid Joe, Uglier Than They Used To Be (Metalville) #176, 1,425 sold The band’s first full length studio album in 19 years to the day lands on the charts. Zombi, Shape Shift (Relapse) 1,000 sold Not exactly metal, but the duo influenced by the legendary Goblin deserves a spot on the charts. With The Dead, With The Dead (Rise Above) 700 sold A doom metal band featuring current and ex members of Electric Wizard, Cathedral, and Serpentine Path. Grave, Out Of Respect For The Dead (Century Media) 590 sold The Swedish metallers are back with their eleventh album. Gorod, A Maze of Recycled Creeds (Listenable) 460 sold The band’s sixth album debuts amid ever-growing popularity. So Hideous, Laurestine (Prosthetic) 290 sold The post-black metal band’s classically tinged second album makes its debut. Satan, Atom By Atom (Listenable) 260 sold The band’s fourth album is their second following a reunion in 2011. Notable Sales:Five Finger Death Punch, Got Your Six (Prospect Park) #29, 7,825 sold This still hasn’t dropped far after seven weeks. Shinedown, Threat To Survival (Atlantic) #36, 6,550 sold Just under the 100,000 mark. Disturbed, Immortalized (Reprise) #54, 4,300 sold Just under 170,000 sold. Clutch, Psychic Warfare (Weathermaker) #68, 4,100 sold A 40% drop means war. Psychic war that is. It’s still sold close to 37,000 in three weeks, which is impressive. Breaking Benjamin, Dark Before Dawn (Hollywood) #77, 3,450 sold This doesn’t change much from last week. Bring Me The Horizon, That’s The Spirit (Columbia) #79, 3,400 sold If you ever watched Rocket Power, then I hope you think of this when you see the album title. Iron Maiden, The Book of Souls (BMG) #90, 3,000 sold A 26% drop with over 120,000 sold. Sevendust, Kill The Flaw (7Bros) #107, 2,525 sold A 32% drop is flawful. Slayer, Repentless (Nuclear Blast) #111, 2,475 sold 111? Why, that’s only 555 spots away from 666! So metal. While the album’s sold 76,000 copies in six weeks, 1994’s Diabolus in Musica sold 93,000 copies in it’s first week. Wow. Trivium, Silence In The Snow (Roadrunner) #120, 2,400 sold A 39% drop. Now that’s just cold. Queensrÿche, Condition Human (Century Media) #145, 1,900 sold Current condition: 60% drop. The Winery Dogs, Hot Streak (Loud & Proud) #148, 1,850 sold A 41% drop, dog. That probably won’t effect their live draw, though. A Skylit Drive, ASD (Tragic Hero) #152, 1,800 sold This takes a 74% drop in week two. W.A.S.P., Golgotha (Napalm) #155, 1,750 sold Another second week drop, this one by 66%. Hollywood Vampires, Hollywood Vampires (UMe) #161, 1,675 sold A 6% drop. Bloody hell. Ghost, Meliora (Loma Vista) #172, 1,500 sold While people were dying to get to the Pope-off in Philly, I for one would love to see Ghost do something for Halloween. Lucky you, Las Vegas metalheads. Parkway Drive, Ire (Epitaph) #189, 1,325 sold This draws some ire with a 22% drop.

Thanks as always for posting the charts, Gary. Just a note- the posted catalog chart is the Oct. 31 chart. Apologies.
When I grab them as early as I do, some are updated, some are not. I know this but attention to detail sometimes does not work too well until I have had some caffeine - LOL
I will fix it later
