A few that I like
* Vince Vance & the Valiants - All I Want for Christmas Is You * Jeff Foxworthy with Jeff Foxworthy - Redneck 12 Days of Christmas * Ricochet - Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow (some tasty harmonies here; why didn't you guys sing like that on your big hits?) * 4 Runner - What Child Is This? (some more amazing harmonies, and one of the few renditions to include the lesser-known "Raise, raise the song on high" lyric) * Jimmy Wayne - Paper Angels * Collin Raye - What If Jesus Comes Back Like That (not a Christmas song per se, but it sorta fits) * Kenny Chesney - All I Want for Christmas Is a Real Good Tan * George Strait - Christmas Cookies (reminds me a lot of a late 80s Ray Stevens cut) * Almost anyone who's ever cut it, but if I had to pick one version I'd probably go for the Eagles - Please Come Home for Christmas * Joe Diffie - Leroy the Redneck Reindeer * Willie Nelson - Pretty Paper * Roger Miller - Old Toy Trains * Buck Owens - Santa Looked a Lot Like Daddy * Dolly Parton - Hard Candy Christmas * Kenny Rogers/Wynonna - Mary, Did You Know? * Montgomery Gentry - Merry Christmas from the Family * Skip Ewing - Christmas Carol * Brad Paisley with Brad Paisley - Born on Christmas Day (I actually heard a DJ introduce it that way once) * Keith Harling - Santa's Got a Semi * Toby Keith - Santa I'm Right Here * LeAnn Rimes - Put a Little Holiday in Your Heart * The Oak Ridge Boys - Thank God for Kids * Elvis Presley - Blue Christmas * Alan Jackson - Let It Be Christmas * Merle Haggard - If We Make It Through December
And not really "country" per se, but I have a soft spot for "Rusty Chevrolet" by Da Yoopers, which a lot of country stations play around these parts.
That I don't like:
* Faith Hill - Where Are You, Christmas? (overwrought, belty clichéfest just like everything else she was releasing in that timespan. And this is from someone who thought the Jim Carrey Grinch movie wasn't that bad.) * The Oak Ridge Boys - Christmas Is Paintin' the Town (this would actually be OK otherwise, but that kids' chorus SHOUTING EVERY SINGLE LINE kills it) * Reba - I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (this song only works when sung by a very young boy, not a grown-ass woman) * Anyone who's ever done it - Feliz Navidad (this song repeats itself so much that I'm surprised "apply directly to the forehead" isn't a lyric) * Blake Shelton - that awkward-ass rewrite of "Home" that he did for the Christmas album, because of how badly all the Christmas-y stuff is shoehorned in * Anyone who's recorded "My Favorite Things" which is NOT A FREAKING CHRISTMAS SONG WHAT THE HELL EVEN MAKES YOU THINK THAT IT IS (@#$U(OAJDSFJSJFSFS
Also, I don't hate "O Holy Night", but I think that way too many people use it because it's a "hey look, I can hit really high notes!" song and not because they genuinely like it.

A couple of ground rules for me on this: I only have a top 5, no bottom. Christmas only comes once a year so if I hate it, I forget about it. I am only including written country Christmas songs, not country singers doing standards or carols. Although if I must choose, I love Alan Jackson's Holly Jolly Christmas and George Strait's Winter Wonderland. So without further ado here's my top five.
1. It Wasn't His Child - Skip Ewing 2. New Kid in Town - Keith Whitley 3. I Only Want You for Christmas- Alan Jackson 4. Til Santa's Gone - Clint Black 5. Nothing But a Child - Steve Earle

Yeah I saw Clint's song on a bad list or two and I am not sure why. It's just bad is not a reason to me.

I've heard this one on the radio several times now this season for the first time, but I love Blake Shelton's "Santa's Got a Choo Choo Train." I hadn't heard it until this year, but one of the stations in Wichita apparently loves it, lol. Great song though... much better than "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" which is among the worst Christmas songs to hear on the radio because it's so incredibly basic and repetitive (since the song would only be like a minute long otherwise).

Down here in Sparta Tn they keep playing Lady Antebellum Christmas songs more than anybody on 106.9 . They also play "Santa Baby" by Kellie Pickler a lot and it's annoying. ????

One of my favorites. <3 Although "My Christmas Caroline" is even better. I'd love to see that get enough spins that it could crack the charts this season but I doubt it.

I love "Take A Walk Through Bethlehem". It's unfortunate that it's so obscure and unknown.
