Foster the People is going to release digitally the track "Ruby" this Friday, which is available for pre-order on Amazon. The song was included as the b-side of the "Broken Jaw" limited vinyl release back in 2012.

Audio:
I really like this. I wonder if they're going to release something new soon and this is just to put them back on the radar.

...random. Fine by me, though, since I only have it on vinyl and the MP3 rip I tried to make back then sounds like it was recorded through a shoe.

I wonder if they're going to release something new soon and this is just to put them back on the radar. I hope so. I remember that Supermodel was slated to be released in November 2013, but Columbia pushed it back to early next year because they didn't want them to be hurt and/or get lost with the Q4 competition, so it makes sense if they want to do the same. Also, Cubbie Fink left the band, so Mark Foster and Mark Pontius are the only remaining members, so it could be a way to re-introduce the band as a duo now, unless someone else would join them soon. And I guess it's not necessary to say that I need new stuff from Foster the People ASAP. As a side note, this is the leaked studio version (the date of the YouTube clip differs with the one that the vinyl came out) of the track. Even, Amazon is listing a different length (5:09 min. vs. 5:59 min.), so it's probably that it's going to be this one instead, unless there's some new arrangements added.

I actually saw the two different versions, but I didn't know which one was going to be released since I couldn't find the track time on Amazon.

Yes, it's the latter - that one Shazams with the new artwork, while the other one wasn't even recognized. ("Broken Jaw" shows on Shazam as being part of Torches, by the way.)

Looks like the release isn't too random at all. Foster the People have teamed up with Kind Campaign to raise awareness about bullying worldwide and, specifically, about the bullying of teenage girls in Japan, which also leads to an increase in Japanese youth suicides. This could be seen in the Facebook post above and in the article from CNN which Mark Foster mentions in the video as well, where this track is played at the background.
