Streaming ends on Thursday though. I didn't realize this - it makes radio ending on Sunday even more illogical. Because it takes time to accurately check and collect the data for sales and streaming. Airplay is pretty much up-to-the-day correct. The Hot 100 tries to be as correct as possible, so they use the airplay data from Monday-Sunday since it's the closest week of information they can collect when they compile the data (as it's compiled on Mondays). With sales and streaming, that's Friday-Thursday both to match the release schedule of music now and because it just takes a few days to collect, check, and compile that data.

That makes complete sense from a logistics standpoint, but it is still illogical to mix data from different days and declare it accurate for the week. Why not just have radio end on Thursday as well so that the everything matches up? But then again, this is Billboard and we already had charts dated 2016 with more than two weeks left in 2015.

However, Billboard's claim of 'newstand' date and publishing the Saturday after the issue came out so it would look 'new' is long outdated. Considering the speed with which things are published both online and hard copy, the could've shaved a week from the 'publication' date. Of course, it never occurred to Billboard to date the magazine one way and the charts another - for the week the actually covered.
