I'm not implying that its not the official 2nd single... i'm just saying that the full single promo/push hasn't happened yet - and I think there's a plan in place that is paced differently than other projects by different artists. Once the full rollout happens (or doesn't happen) i'll be ready to call it underwhelming and/or a botched rollout if that's the end result.

If they release a video and put it up on streaming services the week of the grammy performance, it should be a contender for #1. Its airplay by then should be quite high - I'd say 100 million AI on mediabase at least. All it takes is a bit of promotion to catapult Adele's songs and such. The Carpool Karaoke managed to get "All I Ask" to #9 on iTunes despite it not being sung in full. A full grammy performance of "When We Were Young" could do wonders for the song's digital sales and for the album too.

^ that's exactly it. patience is a virtue. we're talking about a label that pulled 3 #1 singles in a row from her last album... each having nice long chart lives. i'll give them the benefit of the doubt until all is said and done. i'll bow out on this specific topic at this point and let things happen as they will... it's not worth repeating until we see the full effect of whatever plan they have in store.

^I don't understand why it's a big deal. Because it makes it look like the material of the album is not good enough for radio and that its overrated.

^I don't understand why it's a big deal. I'm not sure anyone said it's a big deal. I simply brought it up because 1) A lot of people have stated "WWWY" would be contending for #1 if it was available fore streaming and 2) 25 is huge and the logical thinking would be that it would turn out a few big hits.

Since when does radio determine what's overrated or what's "good enough"? Let's not act as though Adele is the only artist who has put out a dud as a radio single. It happens. Columbia isn't losing sleep.

And one of those #1 singles never got a video, so obviously there is some precedent here for WWWY not getting one

Columbia isn't losing sleep. Well unless you're Harlem Shake, I think radio does dictate what is "in" and what isn't. People are beating around the bush and someone needed to say it. Radio simply isn't interested in this single. Sure it may end up doing well, but as of right now, and being the biggest album of this decade behind 21, this should already be in the Top 5. Let's see things for which they really are. Teenage Dream raced to the top. Blank Space did. Telephone, lol. Grenade. Mirrors, etc.

This song has not had an official Top 40 radio adds date. And there's no traditional video. All those songs had traditional videos. Radio is not interested? It's #15!

If only people would make up their minds... Regardless of that, WWWY is slow placer in sales, too. So like I said, it's probably just the wrong single. Big deal. It happens. I like how you mentioned "Teenage Dream" but no word about "Unconditionally." Stop being selective.

Columbia isn't losing sleep. Exactly. Aadele is not in a Lady GaGa position with "Do What You Want." Poor album sales, an unreleasable video and major disagreements with the label.

I'm curious how the streaming for this week is gonna turn out. Love Yourself has Spotify locked up (though it didn't exactly have a stellar week there considering it went down a bit), Hello and Sorry have youtube, and Stressed Out dominates Apple (though I can't seem to find any data for Apple Music besides the positions). I'm thinking that the gap between the 4 is closing up pretty fast, considering the sales and radio hits Hello and Sorry are taking.
As for WWWY, I'm not saying its done yet, but its all gonna hinge on the video and streaming at this point. If it attracts a lot of views, even if it doesn't go to #1 right away, maybe it can boost the sales/radio cycle. Radio already has a decent start. Though sales might be a bit difficult at this point considering 25's monster sales. The grammys should help too if she performs.

Any chance on David Bowie's new songs Lazarus or Blackstar going up at all? Or at least not dropping off? Since Blackstar barely made the top 40 and is currently in the top 20 on the youtube and streaming charts maybe it could somehow move up a tiny bit?

Without airplay, they don't have a chance. Sales and streaming are the only thing keeping them on the chart at all, and sales have dropped.

Well it's not an official single yet and Hello is still top of airplay. As soon as it gets an official release the airplay will shoot up. I don't get why people are saying "lol they won't release it to streaming etc etc etc". Her team aren't going all Taylor Swift on us, be patient. Everyone, WWWY is an official single now and has been fully promoted to pop and Hot AC since last month. Just because it hasn't been doing that well, you can't label it as not being "officially released" yet. Okay? Cause that's just an excuse. And the song has a video, so streaming shouldn't be a problem. Yes, it's a performance but if people were interested they'd watch that.

How is this, I'm guessing these songs have two popular Youtube videos? Thank's for comment. The main point is that the same song has different ISRC codes on YouTube and Spotify. I'll try to connect charts using ISRC codes and titles next time :)

Updated predictions Rank - Song - Sales - Airplay - Streams = Points 1 - Sorry - 85 - 140 - 20.0 = 43,300 2 - Love Yourself - 145 - 115 - 17.0 = 42,500 3 - Hello - 90 - 145 - 16.0 = 39,800 4 - Stressed Out - 130 - 105 - 11.0 = 33,500 5 - Here - 40 - 120 - 7.0 = 23,100 6 - Roses - 75 - 70 - 8.0 = 22,100 7 - Same Old Love - 40 - 110 - 6.5 = 21,600 8 - Hotline Bling - 35 - 70 - 10.0 = 21,000 9 - Stitches - 40 - 85 - 8.0 = 20,700 10-12 - My House - 115 - 40 - 6.0 = 20,200 10-12 - Like I'm Gonna Lose You - 40 - 100 - 6.0 = 20,000 10-12 - What Do You Mean - 40 - 42 - 11.0 = 19,800 I'm thinking Sorry may just hold off Love Yourself this week. Love Yourself failed to increase on streaming while Sorry had a minor decrease. Here should enter Top-5 after a long wait. Roses should be #6. My house can enter Top-10, but it will be very close! I hope it gets it. Good prediction! How do you make the estimate? What's the calculation (Radio x 3, Streams x 4 ??) and where do you find the streams for some songs that isn't on Spotify (like Hello)?

It sort of has a video, but it's not the same as a "real" video, and it's also not one that's being played by networks (not that those are huge these days, but they at least help with awareness). I mean, surely you would agree that a more traditional video would get watched more than the one that's out there?

Okay? Cause that's just an excuse. And the song has a video, so streaming shouldn't be a problem. Yes, it's a performance but if people were interested they'd watch that. Eh. It sort of has a video, but it's not the same as a "real" video, and it's also not one that's being played by networks (not that those are huge these days, but they at least help with awareness). I mean, surely you would agree that a more traditional video would get watched more than the one that's out there? Yes, I would agree. However, Adele is the only artist to have a live video with over 100 million views on VEVO. There's still a streaming component for the song.
