MTSChart21 I love your chart! Did that take long? If it's not too much trouble I'd definitely say to keep doing that whenever you can. The only thing I would change is, don't bold the font for songs that have more than a 1 million game (it makes the font look chunkier and possibly harder to read on a small mobile screen). The green highlighting for those songs should draw enough attention to them.

What I mean is, should I have it be red for songs that lost 1 million or 2 million (Since losing 1 million is kind of common for songs dying). Or should I just keep it only green for 1m gainers? |

Does "Panda" have a shot at the top 10 this week? Many songs are losing in iTunes, but Panda is getting about 7k more sales this week than it got last week. Damn. I'm still shocked by the success of it. It's catchy, and way better than "Watch Me". So I don't mind if it peaks at #4 or #3, but if gets close to #1, I, I don't even know. It does have a shot at the #10 position..... so far it looks like it will be very close between Stressed Out, Cake By The Ocean, and Panda. I am currently projecting 19M streams for Panda, but it could get more! By the way, ITAPII should go Top-5 this week. YAY!! Predictions for this week: 1. Work - 40k 2. 7 Years - 37k 3. NO - 30k 4/5 Love Yourself - 27.5k 4/5 I Took A Pill in Ibiza - 27.5k 6/7/8 PILLOWTALK - 26.5k 6/7/8 My House - 26.5k 6/7/8 Work From Home - 26.5k 9 Me, Myself & I - 25.5k 10/11/12 Stressed Out - 24.5k 10/11/12 Cake By The Ocean - 24.5k 10/11/12 Panda - 24.5k Itapii in top five seems too good to be true :O (it would also be Mike's first top five, mind you) and with Work's lead being diminished to less than 10% (according to this prediction), it is quite possible that its 8th week at #1 will be its last. Go Lukas! If 7 Years gets only 2-3 weeks at #1 I'll be happy. Looks like My House is definitely done now :( also, I can't believe y'all got to page three in just a day lmao. It's ironic to complain about some fun a couple people had making sentences based on the very songs in the Hot 100, which is the topic discussed here, and yet take up an entire page in so doing vs. if you had just left it alone. It's really not that big of a deal, especially considering it was done anyway (not an ongoing continuous thing). |

It looks like "Love Yourself" will quite likely pass "Uptown Funk" and "We Found Love" as the longest-running #1 on the Radio Songs chart this decade. It should at least tie them. It's only 4 weeks from tying them and 5 weeks from passing them. Could it possibly challenge the "Iris" record? :O
Speaking of which, "Iris" was massively robbed of Hot 100 success IMO and that is really upsetting for me as I think it's a great song :(

Second @broccoli's recommendation, specifically for having the dark green background can make those positions difficult to read even on a computer screen - bright green would work better. :)

For what it's worth, I would recommend changing the colors to lighter versions of each... creating more contrast and making the info easier to read in all formats. I can do that. On that note, this is the color scheme I would recommend, if you choose to also make note of songs that are losing ground: blue or teal color for songs gaining 2 million or more light green for songs that gain 1 to 1.999 million light pink for songs that lose 1 to 1.999 million red, or a darker shade of pink, for songs that lose 2 million or more This is similar to the color scheme Kworb uses for his iTunes pop bars, only difference being the blue/teal instead of a darker shade of green. I'd say take an informal vote for it though to see if this is something a good number of people would find useful - some other people might not care for it. I have a couple of reasons for being all for it, though, the biggest reason being that I like the idea of being able to see the balance or imbalance between the number of new songs gaining and old songs finally seeing their way out. Today for example is pretty balanced - there are eight songs gaining 1 million+ (you accidentally overlooked WFH in the highlighting) and nine losing 1 million+. On the other hand you might have weeks where there aren't a lot of gainers, but a lot of losers. This would indicate a weak field of competition, IMO. Several charts in a row where there are a lot of gainers and few losers implies a highly competitive chart period. Charts with few gainers and losers = radio stability (or stagnancy), and then there will be the chaos of Christmas/NY's, when the daily charts are going to be kind of all over the place for a week or two with some recurrents getting year-end boosts. I'm a dork so I'm into the idea of being able to track all of this just by a quick glance. |
