Here comes Drake dropping TWO mid-week singles to blow up everyone's H100 predictions. BOOM!  Drake's so stupid. lol, jk. But seriously though, mid week releases? He does what he wants... and succeeds doing it. Look at that instant #1 and #2 on iTunes. Bringing Kanye and Jay Z along with him. But it's that One Dance track f/ Wizkid and Kyla that's real fire, imo. |

And making another post about it only draws more attention to it so it wouldn't be in your best interests anyway. Besides, this is a DISCUSSION thread, no? Neither of the two new songs are on Spotify, but they are on Apple Music (I'm assuming TIDAL too?) so they will have streaming points.

Whether Love Yourself will break the record is totally under Drake's control now. I sorta hope LY doesn't break the record. It's fun seeing so many songs try to break it and they all fall out during the same week. It's crazy how many songs have been 1 week away from breaking it. Kinda funny how a mid week Drake release would be the thing to stop the record from being broken |

I knew that with the relatively low points total for the #1 now and with no clear successor this would be the prime time for a major star to drop a new single with a good shot at #1 (even though Drake is already at #1 as a featured act). If he does have the next #1, it probably won't happen this week, or it might not happen at all, given there's two songs to split the points and the mid-week release.
You know, I'm beginning to really think he and/or his team just don't care too much about reaching #1. There are other things to consider besides weekly chart peaks, like overall cumulative sales and streaming numbers that will generate consistent revenue streams over long periods of time, that might not happen if boom, you release album, single, video, and radio all on the same day of the first chart week.
