Just look at the iTunes top 100... Why on earth is My Boo by Ghost Town DJs charting so high?? Loved that song... Like back in 1996!!! there's a viral new dance craze happening right now - set to that song, apparently. and it's only 99 cents! :) I don't know... is that My Boo or Uber Everywhere?

great week for digital sales on iTunes - a dozen 100k+. anxious to see final totals.
based on the kworb itunes sales estimates alone, we could see at least 10 debuts/re-entries in the top 50 this week, maybe more. Seems like that might be some kind of record if it happens, maybe?
2. Beyoncé - Formation 203,000 7. Beyoncé - Hold Up 143,000 8. Beyoncé - Sorry 135,000 9. Prince - Raspberry Beret 129,000 11. Beyoncé - 6 Inch 113,000 14. Prince - I Wanna Be Your Lover 89,000 16. Beyoncé - Freedom 78,000 17. Beyoncé - Don't Hurt Yourself 76,000 22. Beyoncé - All Night 64,000 23. Beyoncé - Pray You Catch Me 61,000
less likely for top 50:
24. Prince - Diamonds And Pearls 59,000 25. Prince - U Got The Look 59,000 26. Beyoncé - Sandcastles 57,000 27. Prince - Darling Nikki 53,000 29. Beyoncé - Daddy Lessons 52,000 30. Prince - 7 47,000 32. Prince - Cream 45,000

I'm still puzzled by the lack of a video for "One Dance" and (more so) "Panda." Why have they waited so long? At least "One Dance" hasn't come close to peaking and the label can use the video to ensure a #1 (though it looks to get there regardless), but "Panda" should have certainly had a video by now.

^ Panda doesn't really need one. It also seems like it still might be #1 this week. It's streaming will still be very high, and it seems the sales projections for Beyonce and Prince went down.
EDIT: Whoops, forgot about One Dance. How high will its streaming be?

Difficult week to predict this..... however here goes my prediction: Rank | Song | Sales | Airplay | Streams | Points | 1 | Panda | 100 | 50 | 38.0 | 47,800 | 2 | One Dance | 115 | 65 | 28.0 | 42,600 | 3/4 | 7 Years | 85 | 135 | 17.0 | 37,100 | 3/4 | Purple Rain | 300 | 5 | 3.0 | 36,300 | 5 | I Took A Pill in Ibiza | 65 | 115 | 13.0 | 29,600 | 6-9 | Work | 35 | 70 | 21.0 | 28,400 | 6-9 | Work From Home | 65 | 80 | 15.5 | 28,200 | 6-9 | Formation | 190 | 20 | 6.0 | 28,100 | 6-9 | When Doves Cry | 210 | 5 | 5.0 | 28,000 | 10/11 | PILLOWTALK | 35 | 110 | 12.5 | 25,300 | 10/11 | NO | 75 | 80 | 10.5 | 25,100 |
* Panda should comfortably remain #1 while One Dance should get the second place. * Purple Rain could be either #3 or #4 depending on sales and streaming. * I'm not exactly sure where "Formation" and "When Doves Cry" will rank, but they looks to be getting around the same amount of points as Work/Work From Home. And if either of them can get more sales/streaming, then that song may even enter Top-5 displacing ITAPII. On the other hand, if "Formation" gets less sales/streams (which is certainly possible), it might not debut in Top-10. * PILLOWTALK and NO will be competing for the last spot, though I give slight advantage to the former.

Hopefully, One Dance can be #1 few weeks later. Well... it had a shot this week but thanks to Drake's awesome team, he lost his chance. One Dance had got 4.3M views on Youtube during first four days of the week, but after that it stopped getting any views (because whatever videos were getting the views were taken down). "One Dance" lost around 4M steams on Youtube alone. Next week also, One Dance won't be getting any views from Youtube.

At this point, Drake's management team has to be doing this on purpose. This is, what, the 3rd time in 6 months they've robbed him of that #1?

He has an enormous amount of streams on Spotify, and ahead of "Panda" on sales and airplay, though. Does YouTube really count for THAT much?

Youtube, on an average, contributes similar points to Hot 100 as Spotify. Well..... One Dance just went #1 on itunes. If it can maintain 2-to-1 lead w.r.t. Panda for the whole week, it might get #1 next week even without Youtube!

Looks like I was likely way off with saying Formation was in contention for #1. I am happy though that it looks assured a top ten spot.
BTW, itsravi, your predictions are the kind I am happy to see -- clear logic laid out for the points totals based on the airplay/sales/streams. Thanks for showing the math!

Will Billboard consider "Purple Rain" Prince's 20th top ten single? Or will his count still be 19 since it had previously gone top ten?

I doubt it, but there should be a precedent: is anyone able to confirm whether Chubby Checker's "The Twist" counts as one or two top ten singles thanks to its separate runs in 1960 and 1962?

Does Whitney receive an extra top ten for I Will Always Love You in the last Joel Whitburn book? I skipped that edition but have the next one pre-ordered.

Well...if the same song comes back in the same form multiple time, does that make it a different song?

Zedd and Kesha didn't have a radio deal.. Probably wouldn't have helped if it did, 'cause Calvin/Rihanna had a deal and it would've been overshadowed anyway. I doubt that radio at large would be keen on two full-power premieres on the same day.
