Will Billboard consider "Purple Rain" Prince's 20th top ten single? Or will his count still be 19 since it had previously gone top ten? I don't think Billboard counts it as a new top 10 since it's the same song. When Whitney's songs re-charted, didn't the "weeks on" include the weeks from previous runs? The Prince songs that re-entered on this recent Hot 100 do, so that implies it isn't a new chart run. Joel Whitburn may count it since its separate runs, but he is just someone who uses Billboard charts. I don't think he officially represents Billboard.

If it's the same recording that re-charts, it doesn't count as a new track, it's an extension of the original chart run.

Hopefully, One Dance can be #1 few weeks later. Well... it had a shot this week but thanks to Drake's awesome team, he lost his chance. One Dance had got 4.3M views on Youtube during first four days of the week, but after that it stopped getting any views (because whatever videos were getting the views were taken down). "One Dance" lost around 4M steams on Youtube alone. Next week also, One Dance won't be getting any views from Youtube. Thanks to Drake's awesome team he'll be pulling 1 million albums in a week. You guys need to stop acting like everything is about the hot 100.

If you look at the BB200 they get the peak positions for catalogue albums wrong all the time.

So it looks like no new peaks for Prince singles. But, at least some of his albums have enjoyed significantly higher sales peaks. It's too bad it takes a passing to see this kind of reception for one's music, but, it's people's nature.

Per the article, which didn't reveal all too much, Love Yourself is down 9-15. Dang, didn't think it'd be that steep! Pt. 2 by Kanye was namedropped like last week but with no position, and since it was down to No. 97 last week, it's probably off the chart.
