So... the elephant in the room... this Jacob Sartorious "Sweatshirt" garbage. I don't know much about it other than listening to what sounds like Rebecca Black's little brother.
It's doing quite well on iTunes. Anyone have any more insight on this and if it's just going to be a one-week thing... or? where is he getting exposure from?
EDIT: he's a vine kid - i just realized.

The guitar reminds me of WANGBT, but that's about all that is good. He sounds off key quite a bit in it and the production (especially that random synth thing in the chorus) is so meh. I'm not sure if it is just the YouTube audio or what but it also seems really LQ. Almost everything I know of him came from this. "I went to pre-school with him and we're still best friends" as if pre-school was that long ago for him

Everything about it. The lyrics, the horrific vocals.

Well maybe it's just me because in Finland all main pop stations just play what is popular, at least on certain level. It seems very different and complicated in the States. It is. US radio is a lot more compartmentalized and specifically marketed than European radio stations. When I lived in Switzerland, I noticed the difference as well. They're not good comparisons to make. What measurement ranks Beyonce as #1 in the 2000's decade? It doesn't sound unreasonable, just curious. Billboard did. When they did their end of decade charts for the 00s, she was the #1 Hot 100 artist, and #4 overall (top female). Yeah, I remember they put Eminem on the top, and when you count only the Hot 100, he's like 16th or something. It was pretty annoying.

Madonna's dominance on radio didn't stop at Music, it stopped at 2002's "Die Another Day", which peaked at #4 on Pop. (My fav) So that's 19 years.
Also, where did Dope chart on its 2nd week?

And even then, Hung Up and 4 Minutes were monstrous hits WW (and even Sorry, Give It 2 Me and Celebration went top 10 in a lot of places), so she didn't really needed US radio at that point. Though I guess her last 2 albums have basically struggled everywhere.

One Dance should definitely hit #1 this week, and hold on for a good 4-5 weeks.
After that the next clear frontrunner is Calvin/Rih...so long as she doesn't show her nipple, or trashy stripper's assets in the video....

Drake is going to be the SNL host and musical guest on May 14, so that will surely give "One Dance" a lift to either move to #1 or remain at #1.

She might get another one from this album.

And why does Billboard count all these 7 second streams?

And why does Billboard count all these 7 second streams? They don't, actually. The only way Vine can affect the charts by proxy is through YouTube, where sometimes massive compilations of a fad of vines are collected and sometimes get content ID'd, adding them to tracking.

At some point, I forgot that Taylor's country catalog existed #flopstan Was that even sent to country radio though ? I know begin again was and it sounded decently country so I'd count that . But today was a fairytale isn't country sounding and I don't think it was sent to country radio but I could be remembering wrong Yes, it was. It also had a pop mix.
