Yeah, I can sadly confirm this is no longer listed for release on January 22. Very curious why the delay. It must have to do with promotional timing, the show tapings, etc. I just hope it isn’t anything major that means we don’t hear anything until April. I can wait a little while but it’s sucks when you were expecting it next week. |

With the impeachment trials occupying nearly every channel all day, I’m glad the single was not released yet. Her show, uninterrupted by the news/politics, is a great platform for her new music so it would be a shame if it were not utilized to its fullest capacity during the new single/album rollout.

I don't think it's the only factor, but I do think the impeachment hearings threw a huge wrench in the rollout plan for the single. They were supposed to have a new show today and instead switched to a repeat and now they're airing repeats next week too. It's been preempted in many markets since it's been back from break, etc. Not a good way to roll something out when (I'm assuming) the first main push for it will be on her show when there's not a given that it will be aired that day or even on consecutive days.
She's supposed to do another "Thirsty Thursday" chat tonight, I doubt anything will be mentioned but maybe she hints at something. maybe tomorrow? She's filming TKCS then and wasn't tonight

I forgot to mention that I watched Jeff Goldblum's interview with Kelly. He was just gushing over her. He's not the only one but I love the way so many of her interviewees gush over her.

There are like 1800 better examples of Grammy racism than what they tried to lay out in that mess. it's also odd that they recognized Mariah as a woman of color but then ignored Sade, who did win in 2002 (I get that 'Sade' is a band but the namesake, face, and voice of that band is half-Nigerian and worth noting). They clearly don't follow Mariah too closely, bc any good lamb knows that she has always wanted to be viewed as an r&b artist anyway. |
