How am I just seeing this cover? She did so good. I wish she'd do a more experimental song like this.

I think Kelly should slown down when someone's personality isn't very dynamic. She can't talk to Cyndi Lauper and Anna Faris the same way she talks to Jennifer Garner and Christina Aguilera. Apart from that it's nice to see how natural the show feels and how comfortable she is after only 5 months.
I hope that Kellyoke reminds her of her love for rock..
Regarding the single, I hope they will release it before her residency and follow a Breakaway-esque strategy with a long break between single and album.

Regarding the single, I hope they will release it before her residency and follow a Breakaway-esque strategy with a long break between single and album. Curious why this strategy? This seems opposite of what everyone is doing these days. Lots of artists seem to be releasing multiple singles before album release. Or dropping a couple of album tracks between single release and album release, much like Kelly did with MOL. I’m just not sure a long wait between a single (which is less and less likely to be a radio hit) and the release of an album would serve her well.

Syndication Ratings: Impeachment Can't Keep 'Kelly Clarkson' Down Rookie talker hits best ratings in five weeks, returning to form after holiday downtick By Paige Albiniak , Feb 4, 2020 Adam Christopher/NBCUniversal Impeachment hearings in the week ended Jan. 26 created yet another week of low viewership across syndication, with many shows seeing their ratings broken out of their overall averages due to preemptions. That said, NBCUniversal’s rookie Kelly Clarkson, which is renewed for season two, managed to grow 8% to a five-week high 1.4, live plus same day household rating, according to Nielsen Media Research. That put Clarkson in fourth place among all 14 talkers. Clarkson also climbed 17% among daytime’s key demographic of women 25-54 to a 0.7, its best number in the demo since the week of Sept. 30. www.broadcastingcable.com/news/syndication-ratings-impeachment-cant-keep-kelly-clarkson-down

I’m just not sure a long wait between a single (which is less and less likely to be a radio hit) and the release of an album would serve her well. You're right. I was just thinking of a scenario that would give us new music asap. This would only work well if it was a hit single and it would get some attention on her residency. Multiple singles are very unlikely given her past releasing strategies and future schedule. I'd love her to experiment like Katy Perry, but she'd hardly have time to promote every single properly and certainly not worldwide.

Next week : Toxic, I'm With You, We Belong, I'll Stand By You, Hopelessly Devoted To You
Bear with me here, I'm throwing a thought out here. Regarding Dare You To Love and the apparent plans they had for it being scrapped. It sounded like it was going to be interwoven into the talk show quite a bit, at least at the beginning. I think the impeachment proceedings threw the biggest wrench in that plan. But here's something else I thought of and was wondering about, are there any broadcast rules frowning upon that sort of practice? I really have no clue but I'm wondering if there was some sort of legal thing holding it up?

A couple of questions.
Does anyone know why Aben is no longer a member of the regular band anymore?
Also, has the new season of Kelly's talk show started already? I didn't think it had but someone said she has a new studio and I was under the impression that there wouldn't be anything new until the new season.

I'm With You by Avril Lavigne? slowmoIt is. And We Belong is Pat Benatar. :) A couple of questions. Does anyone know why Aben is no longer a member of the regular band anymore? Also, has the new season of Kelly's talk show started already? I didn't think it had but someone said she has a new studio and I was under the impression that there wouldn't be anything new until the new season. Aben's still in the band, he's just not a regular in the tv band. He sits in when needed for that though, as does Cory Churko who was in her for a long stretch and is now Shania's MD. No new season of her show yet, it's still the 1st season. 2nd season starts in September. She's still in the same studio and will be as far as I know. The Voice is moving to a new one when the live shows start, the one they had been using since the show started is getting demolished.

It's hard to say what caused the hold up, but once they missed the first window it's been a good idea to wait--the Superbowl, Kobe Bryant, impeachment, (the shredding of) the State of the Union have sucked all the oxygen out of other news stories. They probably also have more insight into release schedules from pop females that are rumored to drop new singles soon (e.g., Adele, Katy Perry). Or once it was delayed they might be timing it around something else entirely that's really positive--maybe an SNL hosting slot, or an Olympics tie-in (wishful thinking but they are on NBC...). Who knows but I am very much done waiting.

I think the strategy changed for whatever reason, I like that positive thinking dbmhr!

I feel like I've heard her do this exact kind of song on the show one too many times now. I get it's on brand and safely in the soccer Mom lane, but it just isn't very compelling or interesting. :/

She's done 91 songs so far, they aren't always going to be everyone's cup of tea. I enjoyed today but I'm basic so whatever. 🤷♀️ Last night Kelly made a surprise appearance at the Hollywood Beauty Awards. Not the best lighting on this picture but it's really about the caption. http://instagram.com/p/B8RRZ4CFAxf and here's the speech she gave

Kelly is still an amazing human being - girl never changes :)
On a different note, does anybody have any information as to how her Las Vegas residency tour is selling?

I’ve been catching up on all the covers over the past week. So many amazing ones. Bittersweet Symphony is definitely my favorite though.

Anyone have any clue why some of the Kellyoke songs have been pulled from YouTube and Instagram?!
Side note: does anyone have an mp3 version of Kelly’s Alone cover?? I need.

The music licenses were probably too expensive for those songs so they likely only got limited in time licenses for digital (and maybe TV, I bet they don’t rerun those episodes).
