Surprised people aren't responding to this. They did quite a good job at promoting her, and the album is amazing. My favorites are probably Halfway Home and Always Want You, but there isn't a single bad song on this. Lori is the real deal, I really love her work!

The pre-release tracks I heard are beautiful. Also here, sits on my pile of records to listen to. Hope she will get plenty of current and recurrent airplay on the Americana radio circuit.

But you've been here long enough to know that most people don't listen to music that is not fed to them via UMG, SME, WME and BMLG! ;) :) /joking

I'm absolutely in love with this and it's definitely one of the best albums of 2016; if someone hasn't listened to it yet you need to! The title track is my favorite song but I've been coming back to "Giving up on Your Hometown" and "Halfway Home" quite a bit. I loved it so much that when I saw she was coming to a small venue in Austin I had to grab a couple of tickets and delay a planned Mexico trip for her haha :)

Probably in my top 5 albums of the year. "The Bird and the Rifle", "Giving Up On Your Hometown", "Halfway Home" and "Wreck You" are the highlights for me.

Terrific album, definitely a top 10 contender. This was my introduction to Lori (yeah, I know) and while I expected (and received) great songwriting, I was surprised by how lovely I found her voice.
After first listen, I'd say the tracks that stood out to me most were the title track, "Old Men Young Women", and "We Were Cool", but the whole thing was great.

I saw her a few weeks back in Maine and she performed the entire album plus a few songs from a few other albums (though she paid dust to Bittertown). Definitely a fan of this album. I'd say it's up there with my favourite Lori record Lorraine but where that one has higher highs and lower lows, this one is more consistent.

Lori's name is being dropped as a possible Song of the Year nominee for Humble and Kind. Can she get in there two years in a row?

Seems like Lori wrote a song with Shane Macanally for the movie The Shack that will be performed by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
