"Dirt" was released in July 2014 as the lead single from FGL's 2nd album Anything Goes. The song was a smash hit, debuting at #11 on the Hot 100 and reaching #1 on the country charts. It became their 6th consecutive Top 2 hit at country radio. Here's a link to the original thread. Hard to believe that this song is already 2 years old. This remains my favorite single from FGL and probably always will be. It was definitely a game changer for them.

Eh. It's not terrible, but I still don't really understand the praise this received.
An average song that comes off as trying too hard to be deep and profound.
I can appreciate they tried something different, but otherwise it doesn't work for me.

Yeah I hate it. Vocals are awful. I usually like soaring melodies, but this one doesn't work for me.

This song borders on laughably bad. The writers were trying waaaaayyyyyy too hard. The song's idea, lyrics, production and vocals are terrible. The undertone whispers of "Dirt" throughout the song irritate the living heck out of me, too.
Can't change the station fast enough.

I think Dirt was a game changer for them although thinking about today H.O.L.Y is way better but I liked how Dirt surprised me two years ago.
