Reviving this thread because the Year-End charts are up, but the highest and lowest re-entries of this Year-End in the Billboard Hot 100 share a position, with WAIT FOR U being 2022's #11 being the lowest re-entry at #83, and Unholy being the highest re-entry at #11 (coming from #98).

Two Christmas-related coincidences happened on this week's charts (dated December 2, 2023): - On the Hot 100, "Last Christmas" by Wham! and "Last Night" by Morgan Wallen are at #13 and #14 respectively.
- On the Global 200, "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby is at #129 and "White Horse" by Chris Stapleton is at #130.

Despacito and One Sweet Day both peaked at 1 for at the time, a record-setting 16 weeks and both ended the year at 2 in their respective years.

Low by SZA at No. 100 at Hot 100 Year End that would've been an amazing coincidence if it actually got in the Year-End list, especially knowing that very word topped the Hot 100 YE list 15 years ago

Mariah now ties Boyz II Men for having a song spend 13 ,14 and 16 weeks at #1 .one of which is a collab together . most likely Mariah will break the tie next week.
Mariah Carey:
16 weeks, “One Sweet Day,” with Boyz II Men, 1995-96 14 weeks, “We Belong Together,” 2005 13 weeks (to date), “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” 2019-23
Boyz II Men:
16 weeks, “One Sweet Day,” with Carey, 1995-96 14 weeks, “I’ll Make Love to You,” 1994 13 weeks, “End of the Road,” 1992

2022 felt like the second coming of 2014 in a lot of ways -The year started with a Disney soundtrack dominating the charts (Frozen, Encanto) -OneRepublic had a smash hit that year (Counting Stars, I Ain't Worried) -The summer was dominated by a sci-fi blockbuster bringing decade old songs back into the mainstream (Guardians of the Galaxy, Stranger Things) -Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor, two of 2014's biggest breakout stars, saw brief resurgences in their careers. -EDM had a brief comeback with I'm Good (Blue). -The year ended with a massively successful Taylor Swift album with a synth-pop hit (Blank Space, Anti-Hero) as the last smash hit of the year.

Only thing missing was DJ Mustard in 2022.

A chart coincidence that’s much more disturbing than funny:
When “Last Train Home” by Lostprophets hit #1 on the Alternative Charts, Chris Benoit was the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
If you know the history behind both of these topics you will know why.

Billboard Year-end number ones of: -1963 - Surfin’ USA by The Beach Boys -1966 - California Dreamin by the Mamas and the Papas -1990 - Hold on by Wilson Phillips There seems to be some discrepancies as to what was #1 in earlier years. I know that Surfin' USA was ranked at either #1 or #2 based on what list you look at (I think it was later revised), but where are you seeing California Dreamin' at #1? (at the list I'm looking at, it's #10).
